Hi everyone, new here.
I've been doing cards for quite some time now, starting with standalones and a complete set a couple of years ago. Now, having access to tools of image generation I have decided to make another set, this time generating my own images and using an existing setting.
My goal creating a set is not to just take a bunch of cards together and create a lore behind, but I see Magic cards as a format for world-building and storytelling, embracing the limitations of the cards themselves and the fact that they have to combine in a balanced, playable game for itself. The reason for my choice of setting and theme is due to wanting to use fantasy as a device to explore urban conflict (in contrast to the usual invading/conquering tropes of classic fantasy), and using Ravnica as a setting is useful because we all already have a shitton of stablished information about the world and guilds themselves so I can explore more freely intrinsic conflicts within, rather that having to expend a lot of energy and precious space in exposing a new world. I also used ChatGPT4 a lot to brainstorm ideas and cards (it can generate cards for itself, but thematic consistency and overall storytelling through cards is not his forte).
Currently I have most of the cards already done in text format (including flavor text) and I'm generating images. I wanted to share some of them so you guys can tell me what do you think about the general vibe and how you feel about them. I will also be happy to discuss anything about the concept file for the Set, the reasoning behind any of the decisions made, some cards or the image process creation. Just ask.
Here is the concept file:
(obviously is just a summary, the complete concept for each guild is in the cards themselves)

As you can tell, I'm starting generating guild by guild in order to try to maintain a certain thematic consistancy through the art of the guild itself and then to the whole set. This is one of the hardest challenges trying to make this whole thing. Any suggestion about how to approach it is appreciated. For those curious I'm using a mixture of Stable Diffusion and Playground v1.
