Please remember: You're not allowed to vote for yourselves. For further information please look at the CotW Rules.{ sdfkjgh} Master Thénardier Legendary Creature – Human Rogue Spells your opponents cast cost more to cast and activated abilities your opponents activate cost more to activate unless they’re mana abilities of lands. Whenever a player pays either of these costs, you create a colorless Gold artifact token with “Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color.” 2/2 Please message me immediately if you notice a discrepancy in your entry or another's entry.

should we do the two full votes, I do two votes but with two votes per person that means that the amount of votes will always be even which increase the likelihood of there being ties. Should we do one vote instead or should we do two votes but would you want to know what our first selection is. My first selection that I favor most is "Rhystic Negotiations"

damyers, it's up to you how many votes you want to leave. I always leave the max amount during each voting period (note that depending on the number of entries, it ranges; I've seen between 1 and 3 votes per poll). It's fairly common for there to be ties. In those case all winners get posted on the front page, and all of the winners are asked for submissions for the following challenge. Whoever responds first will determine the challenge.

@ damyers: Feel free to use as many votes as you want Fun fact: How many votes you get depends on the number of entries: I set the poll to just a single one for up to 10 entries, two for up to 20, three for up to 30 - and once or twice we even had four votes after getting more than 30 entries for a contest
As vizionarius already mentioned, ties really aren't that big of a deal. Also we already have users not using up all of their entries every week anyway. For example, as of writing this, we have 20 votes from 12 people - meaning four users only left a single vote.

Understood but can you explain to me why you set up as each person gets 1 vote out of every 10 submissions. Instead of the traditional 1 vote 1 person. If I were to guess it would be to increase the likelihood of actually having a definitive winner correct? Because if say with 30 voters and 30 entries there is possibility that the votes may be split even amongst all 30 entries with each person having a different taste they are bound to each choose very different things so you need more votes so that even with such different taste a there is a guarantee that at least guaranteed to 1 entry gets 2 votes to make sure there can be increase in actually choosing a winner and you increase the votes based on size because the more choices there are the more spread out votes will be so you need to give more to make sure there is winner. Am I correct or do I just over think this or is there different reason I am genuinely curios to know.

If I were to guess it would be to increase the likelihood of actually having a definitive winner correct? Not really, no OK, first some backtracking. Not sure you know this, but the MSE forum had been around for quite some time already before we switched providers five years ago. Back over at the old forum everyone indeed always only had a single vote since the forum software back then literally couldn't handle multiple votes so the thought never came up obviously. Then we moved over here for (let's simply call it) technical reasons and I realized this software does allow multiple votes, so I considered switching over. To be honest, I'm not sure five years later if I made the choice on my own as the mod responsible for the CotW stuff or we first discussed it as a team beforehand – but I'm pretty sure the question of how this might affect ties never came up at all. As mentioned above, ties just aren't a big thing – especially since these contests are for fun and giggles anyway and I figured out the system of how to officially handle them early on when I first became a mod. Btw thinking about it now, I don't think there was any change in the relative amount of ties since the voting change – or if there is one it's so small I don't really notice The real reason for the voting change was to allow uses show their appreciation of each others designs more. With only one vote, you'll vote for the entry you like best as you mentioned – but multiple votes allow you give some positive feedback to places 2 or 3 as well. Of course this needed some kind of balancing to still work as a voting system (so not 4 votes every five entries or something like that) – and 1 vote every starting ten entries seemed like a fitting balance while at the same time clean and simple to explain.
