'Tango'"You think I am strong, yet I was only strong enough to survive my fall. You think I am smart, yet I have read none and care to read less. You think I am wise, yet I am only wise enough to know that I can never be. Leave me be, traveler, for I bear fading bodice that must be rebuilt and broken soul that has yet to atone."

Tango 1bbd61
Tango is a simple hunter-gatherer type from a plane with no name. They don't talk about it much, but it is very evident that their home plane, or something that happened there, is the reason he has taken up permanent residence in the Arena nowadays. They've cleaned up a cave network for themselves, generally attempting to stay out of the way of feuding planeswalkers. He'll hesitantly indulge short conversation, and will readily provide or accept help with any physical labor or natural study.

novark Clicks, clacks, and hisses ricochet off of nearby cliff faces as heavy footsteps meet uneven stone. A dot, splattered red and golden, trudges across one of the many valleys betwixt the mountainous peaks rupturing from the face of the Arena. His breaths are strained, although ever further he pushes. "I'll be damned if the acoustics of my pack aren't more of a nuisance than this pebble in my boot-" Revo groans to the open, still air. "I wonder if my readings were right... although what else could be right?"
Just then, he averts his gaze to the side. He spies an opening in the rock face... eyes widening a touch as he thinks he sees movement inside. He makes haste towards the landmark, sticking his head in without even a second thought. "Hello?" he called inwards, testing the waters to be met by a hollow echo. Deciding it must be safe, he treks forth, using only the dim glow of the fire from his pack to see mere centimeters in front of him. He sticks his arm out, poorly warding against anything he can't see in the pitch. "Anything there? One knock if yes, two knocks if no, alright?" Cautious Approach Instant
Target creature gets +0/+4 and gains hexproof until end of turn. If you cast Cautious Approach during your precombat main phase, draw a card. "Be ready to forget your arm if it saves your buzzing brain for another day."

saikonaifu It was the metal screeching that woke it up. Such an unearthly sound pierced the very soul with its hollow ringing that spoke of progress and showed reliance. A quick peak out of their barely dignified hole in the middle of a spire showed that the marching machine was hundreds of paces away, and not on course for the cave. It wasn't their business to help, but he supposed it wouldn't hurt to prepare for the day.He strode about, setting up a stone pot and the barely usable coals of last night's fire to boil water for tea, stretching and limbering up as it waited. All was well until the lumbering mass of brass turned to stare them in the eyes. The traveler noticed, and began to approach. The mountain dweller acted fast, obscuring the coals from view with spare pelts it had used as rugs, and taking place to hide away in a tiny crevice in the ceiling. It patiently observed as the being entered his sacred home."Hello?" Oh, it doesn't care for stealth, the hunter ponders. If not to strike... what does it want?"Anything there? One knock if yes, two knocks if no, alright?" That is surprising to the hidden figure. Not many people come to the plains acting so casual... or seeking peace with those they find, at least not in their experience. Sighing, they swing down from their spot, hanging upside down from the ceiling by his feet, as he lights a torch on the rough stone wall to interpose between him and the visitor. He squints, taking in the man's strange hat and detailed layers of suit. It hangs for considerable time, taking the time from shock to evaluate the newcomer as a non-threat. They swing down, landing soundlessly on the stone floor, turning to undo their combative preparations, and to pursue their beverage related preparations.
"Knock." They scrounge a crudely made pouch of leaves from their satchel, hanging it over the edge of the pot. They sit on the floor, just on top of a bear pelt. He wastes no time in enquiring "Do you require something, or do you barge through every orifice in the earth like so?"
Cautious Approach 9/10 - Main effect is about on par with other protective effects ala Mizzium Skin or Lazotep Plating, and I really enjoy the flavor of pitching your combat trick in exchange for "whatever happens to be behind that door" (I don't know if that was the flavor intent, but I really enjoy it). Only thing weird about it to me is that +0/+4 seems like a lot, but it probably doesn't matter 99% of the time anyways versus +0/+1 or +1/+1 Firelight Ambush Enchantment Flash Firelight Ambush may enchant creatures with hexproof or shroud as though they didn't have hexproof or shroud. When Firelight Ambush becomes attached to a creature, remove it from combat. If you do, creatures it was blocking gain trample until end of turn. Otherwise, Firelight Ambush deals 2 damage to enchanted creature. Enchanted creature loses hexproof or shroud and cannot gain hexproof or shroud. "Nothing beats surprise... 'cept a brighter surprise."

While taken aback for a moment, Revo quickly recovers to follow the busied man with his eyes. At what be perceives to be their cue, Revo rests down on the stone floor, pack crashing against it with a clang. "Well, if you were to see an anomaly in the landscape, I assume you would follow it too, no?"He leans back onto his pack, kicking his legs out in front of him, clearly trying to relax in this place that is leaps away from his comfort zone. He smiles, suppressing a small cough. "I was just doing my rounds, had some facts to check, and figured I'd take it slow on the first round. Can't relocate to places I haven't been to, not well at least." He sighs, swaying a foot back and forth. "I don't need anything per say, just lucky to have someone to talk to before I continue my mapping. I just didn't realize there was so much space, here." Fishing in his pocket, he produces a single piece of paper, a jagged left edge revealing the rest of the notebook he doesn't have. It has a few mountainous regions and a river crudely, and poorly, sketched on top of coffee stains. As he pulls it out, his eyes glow up as Revo's other hand points towards the dweller, prepared to spew more disorganized thoughts. "Perhaps someone like you could help me! Save me some walking time, have a good few hours working over details, and whatnot. If we are to work together, you can call me Revo." He extends the formerly pointing hand for a handshake, a pocket watch clinging onto the palm of his glove as it opens.
Firelight Ambush is... weird. It feels like an instant was forced to be an enchantment with only marginal upside to justify it. I mean, it's still a nice combat trick that's small enough to get away with avoiding protection, and that part is really creative, but I struggle to understand how this benefits from being an enchantment. It's not just working with what the restrictions are, it's working to make those pop. (Also you forgot the aura typing but w/e) 7/10 for being clunky but kind of cool Rushed Notes Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature gets +1/+1 for each permanent attached to it. Equip Specialize Specializations
Valley Wildlife Manual ( ) - ...and +1/+1 for each other creature you control. Coastal Leylines Manual ( ) ...and +1/+1 for each enchantment you control. Marsh Flora Manual ( ) ...and +1/+1 for each creature card in your graveyard. Cavernous Ruins Manual ( ) ...and +1/+1 for each other artifact you control. Tango's mask tilts down to the hand, considering it. "It takes two, Revo," it nods as it scrounges stone bowls from around the boiling pot in which to serve the leafy water. He pushes one of the vessels of minty drink towards their unnatural companion."I cannot say I know the area well at all. One who lives in nature can't be assumed to know it in its entirety, can they?" He takes a long sip out of his crude cup, raising it slowly, and lowering it just as fast. It doesn't seem hard for them to slip the edge under the mask "I know enough to say there are forests to the south, but not enough to tell you how far they stretch. Anything else that may reside in this world is outside of my reach. Apologies if you were expecting something more useful, or profound, but the world isn't where my sights lie."
Tango tilts his head at his guest. "What could you want out of learning these lands, anyways?" he queried. If you're simply going to jump around without enjoying it as you implied, what's the point? You couldn't be here for anything dealing in capital, otherwise you wouldn't interact with the likes of me. You can't be here to learn the surroundings unless you're planning on erecting the earth at straight angles with unnatural intent, which would be a waste, seeing you can do the same in a portable fashion." He pauses for another drain of its mug. "Why waste your time talking to me when you probably have associates who could help you at an unreasonably faster pace?"
Rushed Notes 9/10 Green and Black versions are probably in the realm of "strictly better", but the costing seems fair and the concept seems cool as hell Mortar of Liquid Life Enchantment - Shrine At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain 1 life for each Shrine you control. Then, you may sacrifice Mortar of Liquid Life. If you do, you gain X life, where X is the greatest power among creatures you control. "Plant life is still, undeniably, life."
