Art by Oleksandr Kozachenko A weary looking man holding a shovel appears in the Arena in a cloud of dirt and dust. He slumps to the ground next to an ornate mausoleum. After pausing to catch his breath, he props himself up with his shovel and brushes the grime off his clothes.
The man is plainly dressed, save for the gloves covering his hands and the heavy boots covering his feet and much of his lower legs. He would be able to blend in with a crowd, were it not for the dark aura surrounding him. He glances left, then right, before looking left again, as if looking for something.

A figure approaches the ancient mausoleum, an elf cloaked in darkness and wielding a gleaming golden blade. They step quietly but deliberately, their eyes searching.
When they notice Vidus, they abruptly stop, and take a second to compose themselves. Their tone is stiff."Greetings."Seeker of Secrets Creature - Human Warlock Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell from your graveyard, put a +1/+1 counter on ~. It deals damage equal to it's power to each player. There is some knowledge nobody should ever know, but the greedy care little for rules2/2 Seeker of Secrets: Seems like a neat flashback payoff. I like how it feels more B by damaging each player instead of damaging each opponent. However, it still feels fairly Red to me, with it proccing off of instants and sorceries, and it dealing direct damage. I can understand it in Black, it just feels more Red to me for some reason. 7/10Vidus, leaning on his shovel, focuses in the direction of the salutation. "Ah, hello. I didn't know someone was here. Someone approaches the graveyard, and standing nearly seven feet tall and missing an arm, she's perhaps more unusual than the already rare visitors the site gets.
"You there, gravekeeper." Her voice is odd and robotic. "I wish to see the graves of those lost in the coastal fight earlier this week. Can you show me to them?"
Instant Until end of turn, creatures you control gain "When this creature dies, you gain 2 life and draw a card."

Vidus takes a second or two to scrutinize the figure standing before him. Finally, he shrugs.
"I'm no gravekeeper. I mean, I did want to be one when I was a child, but..." Vidus pauses for a second, lost in thought. "Well, anyway, I can show you to the graves you're looking for."
He balances his shovel on the palms of both of his hands.
"Earlier this week, you said?" Pay Respects: Very interesting card. It reminds me of Moldervine Reclamation, which was a card I remember trying (and failing) to play for a while when it was still in standard. 10/10Compost Trudge Creature - Fungus Beast When ~ ETB, you may sacrifice another creature you control. Vidus holds his shovel above his head, his face betraying no emotion. "Follow me."
He closes his eyes and begins to slowly turn before walking in a direction. He moves as if he knows the graveyard like the back of his hand, walking down its paths and byways even with his eyes fastened shut. Even a tree partially blocking the path does not stop him, as he simply turns sideways and carries on.Sift the Graves: I think this card looks great in a deck that cares about loading up its graveyard. You may reveal a basic Plains card from among them and put it into your hand, then put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. 2/1 "Ah, I see. You're a planeswalker as well, then? And you're saying that there are other planeswalkers here?"
Vidus looks into the distance, his eyes unfocused, clearly thinking about something else.
"She could be here," he whispers under his breath, almost too quiet to hear. He suddenly blinks, snapping out of his thoughts. "Say, you said something earlier about looking for something. If it's here, I could probably find it." Sur Ka Scout: Feels a bit weak for a rare. Ambitious Farmhand was uncommon, searched the entire library for a plains, and could become a 3/3. 7/10Underbrush Stalker Creature - Elemental
Trample Whenever a land ETB under your control, ~ gets +1/+1 until EOT. If that land isn't a Forest, ~ gets an additional +1/+1 until EOT. 1/1

I have encountered several who seem distinctly not of this world."Aelewin decides to try out something they aren't quite adept at, twisting the shadowy ends of their cloak into primitive, if recognisable, shapes, that dance before Vidus."I met a man in what I thought was an abandoned complex, playing a guitar."It shifts into a pantomime of Rel, albeit a bad one."A nagaji wielding strange, alien mana."In turn, it shifts to depict Novek."A robotic creature, searching for another of it's kind."A shadowed image that could be construed as Experiment[3]."And several others, but I could not tell you if they were like us or not."The shadows dissipate, rematerialising as part of Aelewin's cloak."Oh, of course. I am, in my time here, looking for an artifact I had heard was stored here by a rogue planeswalker, before the theft of our power. I believed it might be here, owing to a similar temporal connection and a corroboration in some family names, from what I could find in the records of destroyed towns."Underbrush Stalker: Seems fine. Neat little multicolour incentive. 9/10
Mending Charm Instant Choose two - - Return target permanent card from your graveyard to your hand.
- Create two tapped 1/1 green Construct artifact creature tokens.
- You gain 4 life.
- Destroy target artifact or enchantment.
As the heir to Sur Ka, Aelewin was expected to be competent in the clan's signature arcana from a young age.

"Interesting. What have you figured out so far about where this artifact might have ended up?"Mending Charm: Very cool rare. I love these sort of modal spells that allow you to use them differently depending on the situation. My one criticism (although it's a non-issue) is that this is a command, not a charm, but again, that's just a nitpick. 10/10
Talrand's Influence Enchantment Whenever you cast a spell with one or more modes, create a 2/2 blue Drake creature token with flying.

"Well, it's a similar concept. Everything resonates with a bit of magical energy, even the dead. If you can figure out what frequency something is at, say, for instance, a week old body, it'll 'glow'— for lack of a better word— slightly stronger than everything else. You don't need a shovel like mine to do this, but it definitely helps."Vidus stops, opens his eyes, and points his shovel at a set of tombstones that are markedly newer than everything around them, with fresh, clean stone, and recently disturbed earth, the grass not yet beginning to grow in."Here we are."
Intended Purpose: Very interesting card. I like that it forces you to play higher MV cards. Reminds me of Vivisection somewhat. 10/10Lim-Dûl's Blessing Enchantment When ~ etb, look at the top five cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand, and the rest into your graveyard. Whenever you cast a spell, each opponent gains 1 life and you lose 1 life. "I shall keep that in mind."
"Thank you for your assistance," she nods. She looks over the fresh gravestones. None of the seemed to bear the captain's name. But they'd each bore her sins. Even if she was no creature of Elsewhere, Zero herself held some responsibility over them, too. Not far from these graves was another familiar one, a Madame Lysenda. How many more were waiting for her back home?
She turns away from the row of failures and towards Vidus. "May I ask, what brings you to this place?"
Line of Graves Artifact Whenever a creature you control dies, choose one — • Put a grave counter on Line of Graves. • You gain 1 life for each grave counter on Line of Graves.
Lim-Dûl's Blessing - an interesting mini-contract thing. i think you can get away with a bit spicier etb, since its a 3 mana draw one with the drawback. 8/10

Vidus shifts forward, leaning on his shovel, the handle against the ground.
"I'm looking for someone. An orc. Slightly taller than me. Her name is Hadanu Dustbone. Have you seen anyone like that around here?" Line of Graves: Seems like a decent card. Not too interesting, but could be strong in the right strategies. 8/10

"I tracked it first from a backwater world, one I doubt you've heard of. A... friend of mine trawled through a bar's records for me, found something odd. A planeswalker with something that clearly resembled an artifact I'd encountered mentions of in my prior travels; which I have reasons to believe may be helpful to my goals.""I cashed in a few favours, and soon enough, leads led me here. Grumm Tavern Dealer Creature - Human Rogue Lifelink When ~ enters the battlefield, target opponent looks at the top three cards of your library, and divides them into two piles. Choose one, and put it into your hand. You lose life equal to the number of cards put into your hand this way. 2/1

Do you think the planeswalker would have hid the artifact more hurriedly, or more carefully, and how long ago would this planewalker have hid it? That changes what I need to look for." Grumm Tavern Dealer: Really sick card. Love it. 10/10

She considers for a moment. "I suppose I should ask, is Hadanu a planeswalker? I have grown so used to the people of this plane being such, but not all are, are they?" Missing Persons Report Artifact As Missing Persons Report enters the battlefield, choose a creature card name. At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain 2 life if you control a creature with the chosen name. Otherwise, surveil 1. Ochran Tiller - this one's a bit too costly for what it is, should probably be a bigger body. think even if this refunded the full it wouldn't be super worth since you're trading a creature for a 2/1 and there's not a lot that trades up there. - 7/10

Vidus pauses. "I mean, I hope she is. I last saw her in an explosion involving her and a merfolk advisor named Komoro Dec. I could feel that something had passed through the blind eternities after the explosion, but I couldn't tell whether it was her, the advisor, or both."
Vidus sits down on the ground with his knees up, laying down his shovel next to him. He sighs and lays back, looking up into the sky.
