First time posting a set here, and I'm glad I got round to it as more than once I've lost a few projects due to hardware failure. Depths of Tytheus is a premier set in modern parlance (meant to be a standard-legal expansion) with an underwater theme. My favourite way to approach design is to rehabilitate existing mechanics or combine them in different ways, so for this set I wanted to tackle Energy. It's a lot less modular than Kaladesh's use of energy, with some cards only using, not creating, energy counters, so the days of just grabbing some strong energy cards in a vacuum without much support are gone. I created the "armed" batch before Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty previews began and while it's very similar to "modified" I think the payoffs and play pattern are different enough from NEO that I didn't want to scrap it. I tend to use fewer "named" mechanics so these are the only real "keywords" but I tend to build strong limited themes with a lot of crossover cards that span a few archetypes so there are well-defined play patterns throughout the set. A bit like the Bolas arc this is intended to be the first set in a two-year (six set) storyline, I have tentative plans for the next two or three expansions but feedback is always fun to incorporate too. I've uploaded a few sample cards here but the full expansion can be found on Imgur here: imgur.com/a/dzSUygGIf anyone would like the full .mse file to play around with please let me know; I hope you enjoy flicking through this project.
