OK, so I have a very dumb idea for a set. I want to take the most generic draft archetypes for every color pair, and color shift them. It'd look kinda like... : Something : Something : Something : Something . Spellslinger, definitely. : Something . Maybe Graveyard Matters? : Something : Something . I'm thinking Mill. : Something : Something . My current plan is Power 4+ Matters. : Something My problem, however, is that I'm actually having a hard time picking archetypes that are iconic for a given color pair while fitting uncomfortably in a different one. As you can see, there are a lot of holes. Anyone have any ideas?

Azorius always makes me think fliers, and for Orzhov maybe just classic lifegain?

Off the top of my head and totally not because these are almost all archetypes for my current project : Fliers, flicker : Evasion, control, mill : Sacrifice : Aggro, "Ferocious," Ramp
: Midrange, Tokens
: Lifegain, aristocrats : Spellslinger : Graveyard recursion, "Morbid" : Go-wide, combat-tricks : +1/+1 counters, card draw

Here are some of the more reasonable shifts I can imagine: : Equipment ( ). Focused on putting equipment on evasive creatures. : Flash ( ). I guess WotC is already doing this, but it's still an interesting shift. : ETB Effects ( ). Black can use reanimation/disentomb as a new avenue for recursion. Or, Fliers, which we kind of saw in RNA with Afterlife. : Direct Damage ( ). Think M20's Ogre Siegebreaker. Green can lean on fight effects and direct damage to flyers. : Tokens ( ). I'm thinking specifically of Populate -- copying creatures is a Blue effect, after all!

For , maybe lifegain/life-as-a-resource? I know red doesn't do lifegain, but it has seen some triggers based on gaining life (granted, those are multicolor cards), and red's reckless self-damage stuff would pair well with black's lifegain.
