A young woman is picking mushrooms and thistles when she catches a whiff of smoke, which she finds deeply unpleasant. Immediately, she looks around for any signs of fire. Finding none, she follows the scent until she finds its source: a crooked pipe stuck in the teeth of some decrepit bipedal lizard. The woman suppresses her sneer of disgust before approaching with a far more pleasant demeanor. "Good day to you. That's a rather peculiar smell. Would you mind telling me about what you're smoking?"Trailing Hound Creature — Hound When Trailing Hound enters the battlefield, look at the top card of your library. Trailing Hound Creature — Hound When Trailing Hound enters the battlefield, look at the top card of your library. If it's a land card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. Otherwise, put it on the top or bottom of your library and gain 3 life. 1/2 Decent sealed card, definitely something I'd pick up in a draft if it was in my colors or green seemed open. Merries mechanics and flavor nicely with a nice iteration on the idea of exploring. I think it could safely be pushed up to a 2/2. But yeah nearly perfect 9/10. Zyrizys look up from his pipe at the woman who'd approached him. The woman, who her hair done up under a red cloth and was otherwised dressed in unremarkable plain looking clothes didn't look familar to Zyrizys, not that familarity was ever any indicator of whether he'd actual met someone before. He needed context clues to figure that out and the question about his herb of choice was pretty big context clue. After all everyone who knew him knew he smoked, "Agoraroot. Pecular little plant; grows like ginger, but it grows better when you sow the soil with written words. Likes the knowledge, finds it nutritious. T'is why smoking promotes memory; that bit of knowledge gets your thinking, helps the old thoughts flow."The lizard bit down on the end of his pipe and sucked in a breath of herbal smoke. He coughed ,"Sides-effects not with-standing, it's quite the useful plant for me, seeings how I've already forgotten your name."Another huff. "Samantha was it?"

With the puffs of smoke, a slight grimace threatens to crack through the woman's facade, but she seems lost in thought, and doesn't immediately answer when called by the wrong name. "...Apologies, I was just thinking about some ways to grow agoraroot. With a printing press and small movable type, you could minimize expenditure of ink and paper for the sympathetic materials, and you'd be able to cultivate a nice crop... though I'll need to read more about it, or we could talk more about it right here, I have the time." By this time, she can't help but let through a genuine grin, but it quickly falls away once she remembers that she was asked a question. "...Apologies again. No, most call me Lettie Wormwood. I'm the local apothecary for a great many locales on this arena. I don't believe we've met before. May I have your name?"Mass Reprinting Sorcery Search your library and graveyard for up to four cards that share a name, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then shuffle your library. "What gunpowder did for war, the printing press has done for the mind." —Wendell Phillips Jaunt of Agoraroot — A neat synergy to answer, but this is really weak. Anything less than a net P/T comparable to the P/T of a creature of this cost is going to be below par, and getting to that level consistently on this card is far too difficult. I appreciate the contrast between red and green here, but unfortunately that sort of zero sum quality is part of what makes it difficult to justify running the card in any environment. 6/10

Mass Reprinting is relatively powerful tutor in nonsingleton constructed formats; I'm struggling to thing of a deck archetype that would benefit from it a lot since I don't really play the kinds of decks that would want to run it: maybe hedron alignment or biovisionary. I'm gonna give it a base score of 9 for being powerful if a bit niche, but subtract a half point since I personally would never be able to make good use of it because of format preference (Commander, Prerelease, Draft) for and a half point for a real world quote as flavor text because those just never feel emersive to me. So final score: 8/10. With the puffs of smoke, a slight grimace threatens to crack through the woman's facade, but she seems lost in thought, and doesn't immediately answer when called by the wrong name. "Beg your question's pardon a moment," The old lizard said as he started rummaging about his person sifting through his pockets and bags, muttering incensed question about where he put his pen and quill. His eyes lit up when he found them in the first bag he checked when he came back around to it the second go around. "Got it in one! Ah yes, before I forgot."
He took the quill, licked it, dipped it into his pipe's chamber, and found an empty page to set the quill to paper. "Lettie Wormwood, Apothecary." And the pen went to work under its own power as he let go of it: It wrote what the lizard had said in big swooping letters and sketched Lettie's portrait with remarkable accuracy. He frowned, "Question, question... there was a question asked," a hit and a cough, "Ah my name! Zyrizys Zyrizys. I say it twice so I don't forget it." Memory Artist

Card also runs into development issues quickly since it affects your entire board, and can be triggered pretty easily in blue. 5/10

"It was the last time I checked," Zyrizys huffed, "but, I wouldn't bet against it having become something else in the interm." He rummaged through his bags until he found a spare pipe and a bundle of dried herb. After putting the herb in the pipe chamber and lighting it with a snap of fire, he offered the lit pipe and asked: "You got anything you want to remember?"

Gudgeon Trapper Creature — Human Scout Gudgeon Trapper must be blocked with a creature of power 2 or less if able. 3/4 Good card and a good response to my card. 10/10. Lettie smiles. It's distinct from her earlier affectation. "I'm something of a book collector myself. I hope to meet you again, Zyrizys, and that you'll have some natural encyclopedias on hand. Consider me an enthusiast." She puts some distance between her and him before vanishing into a veil of foul vapors. Wandering Librarian — So, this was a bit of a pileup, since my attacks sort of started replying to your replies, but I guess the hope with Librarian is that you can boost it high enough before Trapper comes down. As for the design, I've never been fond of explicit synergies, but otherwise I like the design. Also, Carrier is an og phyrexian type, all four examples of which were black, so it's a bit of an odd sight here. 8/10

hydraheadhunter Auld Pyromancer: A very generic hate card with a pretty good upside for it's cost. Then again, they are 0/1's, but even so lots of tokens can be problematic. I don't think it's too bad, but this would thrive better at 1 token and maybe +1 cost and making 1/1's. 7/10. The pyromancer smiled, looking at the pipe. "I-I shouldn't." she says, then reaches her hand hesitantly up, grabbing the pipe. "...Eh, what's the worst that can happen?" she asks rhetorically. She takes the pipe and holds it gently, looking at it. "I'm not sure I should remember it, but the nostalgia is too good." she elaborates, taking a puff of the stuff. "What do you remember with this stuff?"Reminiscent Pyromancer Creature - Human Wizard Prowess Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, if ~ is in your graveyard, you may give target creature you control +3/+0 until end of turn. hydraheadhunter Missing Memories: Alright sure, fair enough card. The ability feels weird because that controller of the creature can't activate it, and you wouldn't want to tap down your own creature. I don't really understand it. 7/10. The pyromancer inhaled from the pipe, and breathing out a puff of smoke. She sighed contentedly. "Hilda. Missing Memories: Alright sure, fair enough card. The ability feels weird because that controller of the creature can't activate it, and you wouldn't want to tap down your own creature. I don't really understand it. 7/10. The card is supposed to function as a bridge between a super-nerfed Freed from the Real and a horizontal power shift of Claustrophobia (It's cheaper, but it doesn't have the ETB tap-down). (It might make more sense if you consider that I play a lot of commander, so the once per turn means 4 times per rotation).

"I'm sure some folks in these pages owe me debts of one kind or another, Hilda Pyromancer, but I've always felt its the debtor's responsibility to manage their accounts." As the bearded lizard spoke, the quill went to work, moving across the paper to caligrapher Hilda's name and sketch her likeness, "No, my memory journals are of a much broader scope: they simply record the things I'm liable to forget." He chuckled and sucked on his pipe. "So, everything I can manage, really."Debt Neglector One generic and one blue.
