Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our three-hundred and tenth challenge! The winner of the "Not just a mild cough" poll was Xenagos with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Soulbound Avenger Creature - Shapeshifter This spell costs less to cast for each player whose life total is less than half their starting life total. At the beginning of each combat, Soulbound Shapeshifter gains your choice of +1/+1, first strike, flying, trample or vigilance. Repeat this process for each player with life total greater than their starting life total. 4/4 I suppose ther isn't an easy way to make the artist credit white?

Decided to go full oldschool on this one - real life quote, old border, and all: Form of the Vampire Enchantment When Form of the Vampire enters the battlefield, your life total becomes 5. Whenever a spell or permanent you control deals damage to a player, you gain that much life. “When a man is weak, a stronger one will come and do what he wants to him.” — Vlad III

Mrrelix, Felidar Overlord Legendary Creature--Cat Beast Vigilance, deathtouch, lifelink, trample Creatures you control have lifelink. Multiple instances of lifelink on a creature are cumulative. At the beginning of the end step, if your life total is greater than or equal to triple your starting life total, you win the game. 8/12
Yes, this does technically have two instances of lifelink.

I think you could just say "whenever a creature you control deals damage, you gain that much life." That way, it effectively gives two instances of lifelink without having to make an exception for stacking the keyword. (Also, congratulations on becoming a 20/20 avatar!)

I wanted to make a form. This is probably busted, but it feels about right. Form of the Patriarch Enchantment When ~ ETB, your life total becomes 10. At the beginning of your upkeep, exile target creature. You gain life equal to its toughness.

I saw what everyone else was making and it reminded me that Lich is a card. Except there's a lot of unnecessary things in Lich. So...anyway, here's a Red Lich.

Think of all the cards that have, gain, or grant lifelink. The whole point is to harken back to that brief time in the Comprehensive Rules when multiple instances of lifelink were cumulative, not redundant. Plus, how often is the triggered ability you mentioned used vs. the much simpler lifelink?
And thanks for the congrats. I always knew I'd shitpost my way into greatness!

Swear to god this design came to me in a dream. Appreciate the guidance from Flo00 and Daij_Djan on tweaking the wording. I was perhaps overly inspired by the syntax behind Invincible Hymn.
EDIT:
Artists are Gerald Parel, Claudiu Magherusan, & Chris Kintner, only that literally doesn't fit on a card.

FLAREdirector I don't know if this would be a better wording. I just thought of Exile your graveyard. Your life total becomes equal to the number of cards exiled this way. and tought I'd share my thoughts

Indeed the wording I'd suggest as well
Also: Artist credit is indeed fine the way it is.

KingGutty: For that middle ability, how about Whenever you gain yur eighths life each turn ... Ok. Actually now that I write it myself, it doesn't sound any better than yours X) spazlaz: Shoudn't the white and the black effect be exchanged? Also the way the reminder is worded, I don't know if I have to pay the card I wan tto cast or the one I don't want to cast. And it woul dmake much more sense to pay the one I want to cast. How about just making Fuse with cost, like Fuse (You may cast both halves of this card from your hand by paying its fuse cost.)

It's supposed to be like that, the reminder text says "you must cast both halves" so obviously this card for would make you lose the game (I think? Not good at this game so not sure on ordering things.) Assuming it would force you to lose the game with no payment, the idea is if you pay the black cost, it removes the "double your life total" white effect, leaving you with the black effect on the white card, and if you pay the white cost, you erase the white card of it's black effect and get the white effect of doubling your life total. It does look a little counter intuitive, but it's formatted correctly mostly, though there are several possible ways to portray the idea.

From one of Innistrad's many crises... {First Draft}Dutiful Cathar Creature - Human Soldier Vigilance Fateful hour - As long as you have 5 or less life, CARDNAME can block any number of creatures. When CARDNAME dies, create a 1/1 white spirit creature token with flying and "Fateful hour - As long as you have 5 or less life CARDNAME can block any number of creatures." 2/2 Submission

@ ameisenmeister: That's a pretty cool concept, seriously. I'd kind of prefer it without the may-clause though - fits better for a black design imho.

Yeah, thought about that, too, but that would lead to extreme blowouts through wrath effects to an extend that it's no longer probable to play at all.
