cajun I laugh. "Yeah, I've heard enough from Leira about how hard it is to learn a language, and she's trying to do it with nothing but books and charades."
"Well." I straighten myself. "We have no laws that would stop you from traveling. Really I don't see how we could, if you're a planeswalker like everyone else here. Aaand the LIEU disbanded..." I type into my transceiver. Deep Storage, EPIC, Linela, LIEU. "About 8 years ago, so even if there were laws from them, there definitely aren't anymore. If anyone tries to get you in trouble in Entela, send them to me. It's kind of my job. "Perfect! I'll be sure to contact you if they do. And... um..."
// Karina looks down and scratches the back of her head.
"I'm not really sure what I want to ask, but... I know Hannah came to you to ask about me. I just... I've never done anything like this before, and so much is different anyway, and I want to do things right, and I'm probably not but I don't know and, and..."
// Karina takes a deep breath and collects herself.
"I just... She seems to know exactly what to do, and I only know after she does it. I want to do something nice for her first, for once? But I don't know what I should be doing."Over Your Head Instant Put the top X cards of your library into your graveyard. Then you may cast a noncreature card from your graveyard with converted mana cost X or less without paying its mana cost. Numeracy Module doesn't feel like it's doing enough on its own. 7/10

Maybe if it was and had some other kind of upside instead of a discount it'd be fairer?

(Neo, I'll get to your response in a moment)
Meanwhile in Entela...
Today is a good day. Today I learned a bunch of new Material Effects stuff. I think if I practice it tomorrow, I might finally get my first spell figured out. It’s going to be amazing. Now I get to come back and be with Karina tonight. I even got to see Mom on the way to class! That basically never happens! Now I’ll just go to my room, get changed, and get ready to meet Karina. I trace my way around the hallways, which are really easy to follow only when you’ve grown up in them like I have.
As I open my door, I can feel the magic of Karina’s planeswalk. I’m getting better at that, right? I didn’t really expect her to be here yet. Oh well, I guess I’ll just get changed behind the wall again. No big deal. I push my way through the door to greet her.
“K-Karina?” She’s on the floor. She’s on the floor. Why is she on the floor? I run to her side and fall to the floor with her. She looks up at me. Weakly. Like she’s Exhausted. No. Please, don’t.
“Karina?” I throw my arms around Karina. “Are you okay? What happened?”
“Safe… now…” Karina? “So… tired…”
“What? What are you safe from?”
“Don’t forget… We love you.” We? Karina’s eyes close. Karina? Karina? I pull her tighter to me. No. No. No.
I take a sharp breath. “ALERT! HEALER!” My transceiver lights up. They know. It’ll be alright. I can feel my tears. Don’t leave me. Please? But she doesn’t respond. Of course she doesn’t. I need her to, but she’s not. Why…?
Footsteps travel around me. “Healer here, I need you to let me see her.” I can’t stop crying, but I let go. I need her to stay. I need her to be alright. I need her to… More footsteps come in and surround me. Another healer. Just in case, I guess, why not.
“Miss Hannah,” one of them says. I look up, but I can’t really see anything. My eyes are blurred. I try to breathe. It only barely works. Karina… “She’s just tired. She’s exerted herself a lot and needs to rest.”
“She… she’ll be okay?” I ask. Please say yes. Please. One of the sets of footsteps leaves. I guess he decided he wasn’t needed.
“She should be.” The healer shoves a glass ball into my hands. Is this an energy cell? “If her body is too tired, she might stop breathing. If that happens, I want you to break this on the ground, as hard as you can. It’ll help her. Okay?”
I take a deep breath and nod too many times. “A-anything.” The healer nods at me, lightly moves Karina to my bed, smiles at me, and leaves, closing the door behind him. It’s just her and me, alone. She’s in my care now. And I’m not letting anything happen to her, no matter how long I have to watch her. I guess there’s nothing stopping me from changing now. I get dressed in a set of light pajamas.
Karina’s breathing never stops. Thank the Spirits. How long have I been awake, watching her? I can feel my own tiredness now. This must be the longest I’ve ever stayed awake. Dad tried to take my job away from me at first. I promised I’d protect Karina. I’m not letting someone else do it for me. The many cups, bottles, and plates now scattering the floor of my room are reflective of all the sugary drinks and snacks I’ve eaten trying to stay here. Things Dad brought to me once I was clear I was staying.
I lean over the bed from the ground as best I can. Will she ever wake up? What would I do if she doesn’t? I shake my head. Of course she will. She’ll be okay. She wouldn’t leave me.
Karina’s eyes blink open with a sharp breath. She flicks her eyes around, looking across my room. I gasp, take a deep breath, and smile as best I can. Finally. Karina leans up to me the moment her eyes catch mine. “Hannah…” she whispers before she kisses me. I return her kiss. If there was anything that could keep me awake, it was that, for sure.
“Karina? Are you… are you alright?”
Karina takes my hands and looks up to me. “I am now.”
“You shouldn’t exhaust yourself like that. While you were asleep, I did some reading… Apparently people can die if they get too tired, kinda like aether exhausting but more confusing. Please… please don’t die on me, okay?”
Karina sighs. “That’s why I was so tired.” She looks down. I take this moment to get up and sit beside her on the bed. “Something attacked me… tried to…” She closes her eyes and takes a heavy breath. “But I couldn’t die on you. It took me everything I had to escape. It hurt. So much. But all I could think was I was going to hurt you if I died. I couldn't let that happen.”
There’s a moment of silence between us that I take to lay down with her. What do I even say to that? “Hey, uh… Before you fainted… you said ‘Don’t forget we love you.’ What, uh… who’s ‘we’?”
Karina’s sharp breath and sad look hit me. Did I say something wrong? Did I hurt her? She starts to cry. Why did I say that? Why did I make her do this? Karina pulls me into a tight hug and I hold her. “I’m sorry,” she eventually says through her sobs. “That was… the last thing my mom told me before… before…”
“It’s okay Karina, everything’s going to be okay,” I say, not really knowing how okay it was. I tighten my hold on her. “You don’t have to worry about what you say, okay? You can say anything you need to.”
Karina takes a breath through her crying to continue. “She knew they were going to… and she wanted me to remember that.” She pauses again to cry. “I must have thought I was going to die. And I wanted to tell you I love you one last time.”
“I… I thought you were going to too…” I look into Karina’s eyes and lightly try to wipe the tears from her face. That’s what I’m supposed to do, right? “I love you. I thought I might never get to say it back… But it’s okay. You’re here now. You’re okay. I’m okay.” I yawn. “Tired but okay.”
“I’m okay. We’re okay.” Karina takes some deep breaths to calm herself down. We’re okay. “How long have you been here?”
“Uh…” I glance at my transceiver. “Fourteen...? … hours?” Please don’t be upset at me. I know I’m supposed to sleep at normal times, but…
Karina stares at me with a stunned look. “Wow.” She watches me for a little bit while I watch her. “You’d better have gotten some sleep during that.” She gives me a small smile.
“Mm-mm,” I reply slowly as I shake my head. “The healer… he said you might stop breathing if your body was too tired, so I stayed awake to make sure that didn’t happen.”
Karina closes her eyes and laughs, kind of. It’s sadder than I hoped. “You know you’re the most amazing person ever, right?” I look at her and smile, even though she can’t really see me right now. “I’m sorry I put you through that. I was trying to make sure you didn’t—”
I kiss Karina to cut her off. “You don’t need to be sorry about anything. If you didn’t do what you did, I might never have gotten to see you again. You did a good thing. Okay?”
Karina looks at me. “You did a good thing. Now you should get some rest, okay?”
“Are you sure you’re okay now?”
“No. So I’m going to stay right here until I am.”
I look up at Karina. “I’ve gotta stay up to make sure you’re better, though.”
“You already have.” She kisses me. I smile at her and let myself relax with her. “Don’t worry,” she says as she relaxes herself too. “I’m not going to leave while you’re asleep. I love you, Hannah.” I smile.
“I love you, Karina.” I take a deep breath as I let my tiredness take over me.

Lei Koen doesn't appear to notice that Haia is looking away, but nonetheless says, spryly: "One might describe this as an awkward situation for you, yes? When you wish for my presence, I will come. Fare thee well, dear Haia." The High Builder turns around and begins to walk away, her steps resounding like springs covered in strawberry milkshake.

// Estova watches the book curiously. A dagger materializes in his hand, and almost immediate he begins balancing it on one finger by its hilt like a spinning ball. He looks up at the book and smiles.
"Hey," I call to everyone around, loud enough for them to hear but not loud enough to be anything more than a note. "Everyone stand back, taking over combat duties."
// In one motion, Estova catches his dagger and hurls it towards the book. Whether it strikes, is parries, or is dodged, it disappears and reappears in his hand, where he returns to balancing it.
This card seems fine. Not super exciting but it's a prey upon variant that seems balanced. 8/10 Challenge Accepted Instant Target creature gets +1/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn. When a creature dealt damage by that creature this turn dies, put a +1/+1 counter on it.

Clarity of Language - Good in a vacuum. Game-ending in a Horizon Chimera. 8/10 mostly cause we are in a vacuum. /hope this is interactable enough

I can do those, I can get some kinda mango cake goin' too.Clarify Intents seems fun for card draw stuffs. Not sure if it's costed correctly given scryfish only applies to the one? Also gets kinda messy with anything that draws more than one card (Glimmer of Genius: Scry two, scry one, draw, scry one, draw). 7/10 Grant Insight Sorcery Draw two cards, then put a card from your hand on the top or bottom of your library.

Mango cake? It would be something different... but what if she didn't like it? Hmm... she did get the mango juice both times though... "Um, sure, let's try the mango cakes," I smile.
"Okay... I need to know what kinds of animals 'kariso', 'eristo', 'sentesi' and 'oregano' are, and, I don't recognize these words, can you say them?"

The book does some sort of bow and a friendly-ish hand wave, then planeswalks away.
CARD: Not sure how precise it really is, seeing that it's hitting two things and you don't control one of those things, but it's a fine card. I like that the -1/-1 counter makes it less likely that this'll nix a land. Might still want to bump up to three mana. 8/10.

Parasign "Leira, I need you to figure out who this is and how we can avoid dying to them. Once we get more information, talk to Estova and I."// Leira pokes the device. Maybe it has more it just won't say until it's acknowledged.
"Will do."
Urgent Message is probably too costly. It's either a cantrip that costs net 1 mana but needs 3 mana to kickstart, or it's a single ramp for a single turn that, again, costs 2 to cast a turn prior. 7/10
Urgent Search Instant Return to the battlefield target noncreature card in a graveyard that was put there from the battlefield this turn. "We recovered this from the crash site. I think it might help us find the attacker."
(Yes I missed this) cajun "Oh, that, that's wonderful. Just perfect. I'll have to talk to someone over there about how to talk to Festenians. Ya know, only speaking Volarian and everything.
"A kariso's a long green vegetable, kinda like an asparagus but not one. Eristo's a big egg-laying bird, sentesi's a kinda grainy bread, and oregano's a spice. One of my favorites."
//Aeryl reads off the words Karina says while he gets his cake batter going, offering definitions if she has problems.
Even being only a Worn Powerstone for three turns is probably strong enough for a Worn Powerstone to be really good? Might not be too good, though. 8/10
An Empire of Cuisine Legendary Enchantment - Development At the beginning of each player's upkeep, if that player developed An Empire of Cuisine, that player distributes X +1/+1 counters among any number of target creatures, where X is the number of development counters on An Empire of Cuisine. Develop 4—Remove a counter from another permanent you control (Remove a counter from a permanent you control: Note your name and put a development counter on this. Any player may develop this as a sorcery if there are less than 4 counters on this.)

WindyDelcarloUrgent Search: Not sure Graceful Reprieve for noncreatures is still worth 2 mana. This does have the advantage(?) of working after the fact, and maybe also of also returning your opponents' stuff (unless you meant to say "your graveyard"), though that seems a bit off-color for white. Also, if it is meant to be any graveyard, I think it needs to specify whose control it returns under. 8/10.The ringing immediately stops, and the lights dim until each corner is suffused with a faint, flickering glow that draws attention to grooves in the octagon's surface. It's clear that the corners could be pressed in a sequence, perhaps to send a message in return.
Regardless of any reply Leira chooses to make, the device reactivates several minutes later:
SIGNS OF ENTITY ARE AS FOLLOWS – CROSS-PLANAR INFLUENCE – MASS/ENERGY TRANSFER – RESPOND/VISIT FOR FURTHER INFORMATION Reactor Siphon Artifact ~ doesn't untap during your untap step. Whenever another artifact enters the battlefield untapped, you may tap it. If you do, untap ~. : Add . (The information chart has all the response-symbol codes. Feel free to make up whatever you'd like for the reply if you want to include one.)

I think this is probably one of the best ways I've seen to make a two-mana rock interesting? 10/10 Aether Condenser Artifact - Conduit When Aether Condenser enters the battlefield, add . , : You get . (So you can either chain a bunch of these with the Reactor Siphon or you can use the reactor siphon and this ETB to make energy)

WindyDelcarloAether Condenser: Not a huge fan of how this does nothing without other cards to interact with it. I see how the abilities are connected, but I think I'd rather have the first ability do something with the energy you make. 8/10.After the second message, the lights and sound fade, and the octagon ceases to respond.
