Evil Coco Because of how sacrificing work's bargainers curse's controller would need to be the one sacrificing it, so a better template might be "Bargainer's Curse's owner takes control of the enchanted artifact and sacrifices Bargainer's Curse.

I did change the wording on Landfall just a little since there aren't any lands with it I figured not triggering themselves would be an okay modification.

One-sided, optional possibility storm thing, probably not balanced and definitely too wordy: Edit: Fixed the artist credit. Which is funny, because I called someone out earlier in this contest for the same thing.

Sorry about the delay. I initially wanted to get more time for people to make entries, because there weren't many, but my head has been killing me recently. I can judge some time in the next couple days if headaches allow, or you can call someone in to judge. I won't mind.

Basically my own concern was that it would be forgotten completely. Now with that off the table, I don't mind waiting some more days- wish you a nice recovery.

Alright, my pain pills are working, so let's judge this thing! viriss - This is an interesting take on a transforming land. It definitely has some unique drawbacks, both as it has a definite "shelf life" where it becomes a dead card, and in that it wants to be used each turn so that you don't lose out on benefiting from its effect. I like the concept, but wonder if it might be a little too difficult to play around to be worth it. Flo00 - This is definitely a safe entry, which is both a pro and a con. There's nothing overtly flashy-splashy about the effects, which helps with balance but also makes the initial impression of it more subdued. The free creature is nice, but not much use on its own. Meanwhile the requirement to generate is fairly forgiving, especially in green, even if it didn't get you halfway there itself. A bit wordy for Common, but with the effects what they are I can't see it being any higher. Still, it probably has a lot of potential in the right deck. gamma3 - "One-sided, optional possibility storm thing, probably not balanced and definitely too wordy" likely describes a lot of my favourite cards, both that I've made, and that WotC has released. This has an interesting, old-school feel to it. I like the randomness and risk-taking nature of it. However, I do notice one thing. The way it's worded, you "cast" the replacement spell, so it will trigger off of its own effect and keep going through every spell in your library until it manages to copy one. You needed a "from your hand" or "other than by this effect" in there. Points for making an entry that wasn't a land, though. Jartis - Speaking of risk vs. reward, this card. Phasing means that half of the time your mana curve will be behind, and is a tricky mechanic to play around. On the other hand, this card wants you to play it early on, when the tempo loss will hurt the most, so that it can have as much time as possible to snowball and eventually make up for all of the missed turns. It's difficult to judge the power here, because even though it starts out putting you at a disadvantage, it only gets stronger as the game goes on. Ultimately, though, I'd say the ability to interact with things like Proliferate pushes it toward "very, very strong". That said, I think it compares favourably to storage lands, given that it's also Legendary. However, being Legendary also raises questions about how order of operations would work with its ETB effect, and whether the Legend Rule would kill a second one before it phased out, or it would phase out first and thus circumvent the rule by having each phased in on alternating turns, and so only one is considered to be on the battlefield at a time. Since I don't want my headache to come back, I'm not going to think too hard about that. Boogymanjunior - Slight grammatical error in the wording; "if they does" should be "if they do". That aside, though, it's a very interesting effect. I think that might be a bit low of a cost to potentially cast any card in a player's deck, and not being limited to nontoken permanents might be open to abuse, but the fact that it works for all players at least ensures that there's a risk involved. That and the fact that there is the small chance of milling oneself with it...but I think that risk is pretty low. I do think this card would be pretty easy to break the game with, though. ameisenmeister - This is certainly a new take on an any-colour land. I wonder if it would be worth the extra bookkeeping and playing around it compared to other options that accomplish the same thing, however. At the end of the day, it is just another way to do what a number of other cards already do with simpler effects. All of these were pretty good, and certainly interesting interpretations, but there can only be one winner. Congratulations to Jartis.

Thanks for the win! A small comment on your legendary rule musings, I'm pretty sure phasing doesn't protect it, because it doesn't "leave the battlefield" when it phases out, just ceases to affect it or be targetable. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it. Anyway, moving on! Your next artwork is gonna take a bit of work, I think, to make "Magic"-y, as it's a bit modern. Art by: Stefan Koidl

Let's see if this can get sneaked in or not. Added the "if able" part to avoid possible confusion with Maddening Imp and Nettling Imp who can only activate on opponents' turns. Added the "ignoring tapping" part because rules state that only permanents can be tapped. Still, I am not 100% sure that this can work, but no specific problem came to my mind, so I gave it a try.

{ SilentKobold} A simple effect that's well costed with a nice additional rider. Hard to complain. { Flo00} I think phasing works really well for the artwork, and I like that this card has enough utility that you actually have reasons to pick your opponents creatures or yours, depending on the situation. { viriss} A bit powerful, imo, even for its cost. Most token generators in this vein require you to pay mana to start the process, and even then there's usually a drawback, not a bonus. Shadow is thematic for the art, but I just don't see it being a thing anytime soon, if ever again. { somerandomperson} The "gains haste until end of turn" effect is usually coupled with returning to the graveyard or exile at the end of the turn, especially on cards like this. Also, if the creature is meant to stick around, having to keep in mind that it can't attack or block without a marker of some kind for potentially an entire game isn't great, design-wise, so one of those effects has to give somewhere. {@boogeymanjunior} I think it can work. From a wording perspective, I would probably have said "without paying tap costs," but I think both of our wordings run into issue with cards like Persistant Petitioners. The point is, I think wording is the only thing standing between this and working, the intent is fine, and syntax would get fixed if this were an actually greenlit card, so it's not a huge deal in this case. My only problem here is it might be costed a bit too low, but it would require outside effects to exile more than one creature, and it does only affect your own graveyard, so it might be fine when you compare it to cards like Myr Welder and Dark Imposter. {Winner} I'm gonna give the win to Flo00 for a card that I feel best fits the art and has a good bit of versatility.
