The dragonfly that existed around the Phyrexian flies closer to the Phyrexian. It shimmers in resonance with the rapid growth of vikrei flowers, taking no actions but providing aether from the summoner to the flowers.
Airborne entities might make out the distant purple glow of the aether-tenebrite weaponry carried by the Entelan soldiers as they run through the forest. Eye for an Eye: 8/10. This seems like a lot. I would make the destruction also cost mana. Probably just , but even that would be better, I think. Make the Whole World Blind: 8/10. Even in the decks that have spells that copy other spells, I wouldn't expect this to trigger more than twice per game. Pact of the Mistake: 10/10. I think it's a fun "get out of death free" card, and I like cards that require payment during the next upkeep like that, and I think the options it provides all fit black/green well. Faeries on all sides, aether creatures, and a particularly determined pyromancer. Phyrexia may be inexorable, but it is more so when not outnumbered. There can only be more enemies at the shop, which means I suppose I should retreat in the other direction. How to make the most of this situation, I wonder...Dieule fires a barrage of oil shots at Hilda and the faeries lined up behind them, as individual drops of oil begins floating due to the dust. The machine takes up a friendly tone: "While I did mean to fly away, I originally meant it metaphorically."It then fires another shot towards Solanace, not intending to hit as much as to distract long enough for Dieule to be able to dodge. It spends a moment dodging in place, or parrying Solanace's blows, before the machine itself is lifted above the ground, giving Briar a clear shot. "I appreciate your cooperation in making it literal, however. May we meet again under better circumstances." As she fires, a wide pillar of oil bursts from the ground, throwing Dieule at an angle upward and away from the shop at a dangerous speed. The pillar absorbs the vikrei bolt, but as it does, it loses form, and flows outward, though between the vikrei and Hilda's flames, the pillar is engulfed in the inferno just as quickly as it arrived.
Anyone who can see this half of the fight (definitely Seska, Lettie, and Troischa, and probably Leira and the Entelans) can see Dieule fly in an arc above the tree line for roughly a mile before slowly falling into the trees. (edit, added a link to witch's cauldron)

As Hilda finishes her charge, she's hit by a barrage and sent backwards, landing with a solid thud on the ground. "Ow... damn." she mutters as she watches Dieule fly away. "Bastards..." and she feels the phoenix use her magic as a conduit to return to it's own plane. "Well, that wasn't as successful as I'd hoped." she said, standing up and dusting herself off.
As if remembering why she was here, her eyes widen and she gasps. "Lettie!" and she sprints towards the store, trying to find a way in through all the battlefield effects, parts, oil, magic, etc. etc.Pure Soldier Creature - Human Soldier Sacrifice ~: Target creature you or a teammate controls gains protection from black until end of turn. Briar began muttering things her Queen would have slapped her for. Set everything up just so only to give the machine its way out. A setback, but the fight wasn't over yet.
She whispered into the flower petals at the front of her crossbow. "Excellent maneuvering, but our target has escaped. Lets make sure they don't again."
Faeries across the field received the message and buzzed off in the direction Dieule had flown, ignoring everything left in their wake.

"There was nothing to rebuild. I made you. I implanted your memories. I woke you up, for the first time, two years ago. You are my creation."
Lies. Always more lies. "Lousy creator, not giving me a name."
He shrugs, turns away. "It's something you'll have to earn."
Just like when I had to 'earn' choosing my own upgrades? Just like… oh. OH. You MONSTER.
"You are not my creator." She blurts toward his back.
He turns around, raises an eyebrow. "Oh?"
"You fed me tainted gear!" She's shouting, now, limbs burning as she breaks inch by inch through the stasis. "You put a virus in my fucking brain! You—"
And she gasps for air, her throat raw and empty, unable to breathe. He stares with impossible calm as the world flickers, and she finds herself collapsed on the ground.
She takes inventory of herself, and breathes a sigh of relief. In one piece, still. Thank the Light.
"I have decided to let you believe that." Her vision, still blurry, can barely make out the form in front of her. "If I made you from scratch, or from someone else; does it really matter in the end? And, besides—"
The voice is close to her ear now.
"If it's a virus, who's to say I stopped at one?" Parasign test The phoenix feels the chill and shivers in size, allowing the child... the creature to pass through it. It shrieks in pain as the cold shudders, it's fiery wisps returning to Hilda.
All the other creatures disperse back into aether, which stays suspended in the air until Leira makes her way to what remains of the home.
Her approach is first to the new child. Her first steps include her channeling of the dispersed energy, collecting it into a beam and using it to pierce the circuit components of the aether tunnel. Her aim is much more precise than her dragon's was.
"Hey," she says, disregarding the continued motion of the construct's eyes. "I expect you must be the creator of... whatever that was? Might I ask who you are, and why your creation attempted to hijack our technology?"
Eternity Summoner Creature - Human Wizard Deathtouch When Eternity Summoner enters the battlefield, if a permanent left the battlefield this turn, create a 1/1 white Bird creature token with flying. 1/1
(To use the fact that this Phoenix has possibly left the battlefield The awkward thing where Leira needs to interact with kid first and Lettie afterwards)
----
At some point, three Entelan combatants arrive. One has a longarm at the ready, one has several explosive devices on a belt, and the other seems completely unarmed but at the ready. One of them addresses Leira, "Acting Commander Leira, we've been assigned to assist you."
Leira sighs and shakes her head, but replies. "There's a Phyrexian in that direction with a few of my sentries following it. Need you to trace it and destroy it before it can try to find another way off-plane."
"Understood." All three of these military tap their transceivers, look for Leira's sentries on their map, and then run off. Lettie feels frozen, her gaze being drawn to the grisly arrangement of Troischa's components. She briefly fights the urge, before remembering the benefits of giving in to one's impulses, and she compares the various design choices to her own mistakes. Integration of regular blood into machinery is amateurish, especially when considering interfacing using galvanism; significant evidence of an existing organic system being adapted for artificial components, rather than being created whole-cloth. Her attention is drawn by an explosion of oil and fire in the distance, and looking up, she sees Dieule sailing into the forest. She seizes on the impulse to stagger to her feet and investigate. She's met with a bewildering scene of floating phyrexian oil, some of which is on fire, and Hilda sprinting towards her. Caught in the moment, Lettie recalls the script for welcoming a close friend into one's home, and nods and waves at Hilda, a facsimile invitation to cross what would be a threshold, but is in fact the ruins of a wall. When Hilda is close enough, Lettie smiles, but points to her jaw and gives a slight shake of her head. She returns to the scene of Troischa's defeat with Hilda in tow, and glares at the "child" speaking to Leira, before pulling a pen and loose piece of parchment from her bag to then write one word at the top and present it to him:Compensation. Deft Deconstruction — Very much a "shared interest" sort of gold design. Seems to be the correct cost and colours. 9/10

test WindyDelcarlo gurfafflekins Pure Soldier: The teammate part is interesting and makes me want to know more about the set being implied here. I'm not really a fan of protection, though, especially protection from (color). This also doesn't look common to me for board complexity reasons. Though I do like the flavor quite a bit. 8/10.
Eternity Summoner: I like that, even though the body is cheap, it still does enough in the right situation that you sometimes want to play it without the ETB trigger. I'm not convinced it's a good arcun, however. It doesn't feel like it's signposting an archetype so much as just fitting reasonably well in it. Then again, I suppose it might just be a regular uncommon in a gold set. 9/10.
Disgust and Disillusion: Seems like a fine removal spell, though the cost-reduction condition is a bit awkward and I'm not clear on how it connects to the flavor. 8/10.
The child's gaze remains fixed on Troischa, her eyes and the occasional device or organ still quivering against the stasis, unable to stop the beam from shattering her last chance at escape. His own eyes are swollen with unblinking focus, veins bulging and occasionally dripping a tear of blood. One hand is raised towards the machine in a clawlike gesture. When he speaks, it is slow and halting.
"Yes." He smiles thinly at Leira's question, despite his obvious pain. "I am… her creator." There's an emphasis to the last word, clearly directed at Troischa, who glares defiantly back. "My… creation… is ungrateful, and… lashing out. This will be… fixed. You have my word… it will not… happen… again."
He shakily twists his raised hand, and something inside the exploded machine loudly snaps. Troischa's struggles lessen somewhat, as does the swelling in the child's eyes. His voice is smoother as he responds to Lettie.
"Yes. Of course." His other hand reaches into a pocket, and holds out a bag for Lettie to take. "Diamonds… assuming you can't make them yourself. I didn't expect an alchemist."
Decarbonize Instant Target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn. When that creature dies this turn, exile it and create a Treasure token. "Crushing a body is just like destroying a soul; the husk left behind can be made into something more valuable than it ever was alive."

Parasign test Seska had been prepared to parry the amalgamation of metal and will with yet another arcane response, but the entity's sudden, much more permanent stasis, combined with its remote disassembly by another spellcaster, left her off guard, still in a poised state as Troischa's 'creator' approached its creation. She relaxed, somewhat, when Lettie walked towards the child, but looked surprised to see Hilda again. She had little to say as Lettie, wordlessly presented the slip of parchment, as her gaze went back to study what was certainly the components of the woman they had just fought, but she was unsure if it still was that same person. Still, it seemed that they'd successfully fended her off, even if Seska was unfortunately too late to prevent the destruction of almost the entire building. The flames licking at her sword died, leaving only faint wisps that danced at its tip, as she held it to her side and approached Lettie and the creator. "What happens to her next?" She asked, her gaze shifting to the collection that made of Troischa, interrupting Lettie and the creator's dealing. {Support? Card - Rush for Answers}

She pulls the bag from the child's hand, and briefly inspects the contents. She wishes to groan that she is not an alchemist, and that even if she were, diamonds would be inefficient to transmute, but it would be poor timing; in this sense, her present moratorium on speech is serving her. Assuming the child is not attempting to cheat her, she then nods, and crosses her arms. There would be no time for pleasantries, seeing how the three other women still present and intact all look like they want to speak with her. She waves her free hand in dismissal, and glares at the child until he leaves.
"Alchemy is the intersection of chemistry with sympathetic magic, but it shows no mercy to the careless."
Taking this as an assist, of sorts.

Of course I would. Things to look for: -Corrosive vials stored at front. Exercise caution, they can melt gold when mixed. -Furniture. Bed and bookshelves are priorities. -Absinthe, stored in bedroom. It would take her a bit to find anything in this mess, giving others an opportunity to address Lettie for the moment. Vitriol Shards: Cool. I like Vial tribal. 8/10. About half the house has been completely destroyed; Lettie's bedroom did not survive, but for a handful of absinthe bottles. The tremors and some of the stray arms fire had destroyed most of the vials at the front, and their mixtures were eating away at the tables they sat on; Seska might save a few, but she would have to be careful doing so. The only surviving pieces of furniture are in Lettie's ingredients and regular preparation rooms. With so many glass constructions in the bioaetherics lab, however, nothing there is intact. Lastly, while most of the alarms save for those at the front have some kind of superficial damage, some closer to the back have been completely torn apart by shrapnel.
When Seska finally returns, Lettie is crying alone; that is, until she realizes she has company once again. She dries her eyes with a sleeve, and tries to adopt a stiff upper lip, facing Seska. The result is closer to a narrow glare, with reddened eyes filled with both sadness and hatred, and a jaw clenched painfully tight. She waits for this new intruder to say their piece.
Ethereal Replica — Copy Artifact exists, though it's not clear if that would fly nowadays. I'm really not sure how I feel about this one, other than it's a justifiably weaker version of a card that already exists, just with updated wording. 7/10

test Seska tries to keep her composure, standing there with what remained of Lettie's belongings in her arms as their own glared back at her, but she ended up withering under her gaze, setting what she had found so far on the ground between them, just a foot away from Lettie. She looks around for another bit of stable rubble to sit on and found none, so she resorted to sitting on the ground, propping herself up as she sat across from Lettie. The aethermancer was silent under the woman's gaze for a long moment, before she sighed, and turned back to face her. "I don't think I had ever really hated anyone before until I met you," she began, knowing full well what a terrible way that was to start off a conversation. "And when I went home I was angry, frustrated, and probably caused more trouble than before, just on my own world rather than on this one." She gave a weak laugh, the kind one gives when they're trying circumvent the other emotions a bad memory reminds you of. "And it was, absolutely, completely, most certainly, the worst time I had when I had sit and stew on everything you had said for years. I didn't even leave Hoclund again until I'd graduated from the academy. And by then..."Seska turned away, looking back towards the remains of Lettie's house, her eyes scanning over bits of debris and shrapnel that had been leftover. Burn marks and bits of magic that were singed into the wood and stonework. A complete and utter wreck, if there was one way to describe it. She swallowed, before turning back. "But, you ended up saving my life, in a way I don't think you'd understand. You taught me what it was like to be angry, to be furious at something. You may remember I described Hoclund as peaceful, without conflict." She paused, a hand instinctively brushing at the scabbard where her sword was. "It couldn't last forever. It didn't, last forever. And many of us were scared, confused, and afraid. You helped me be more than that, when the time came." The aethermancer stood up, brushing off her thighs before returning her attention to Lettie. "I have to go, and I'm sorry to be the one leaving you here alone. But I can't fight anymore battles for other people and ignore the ones at home."
{Response Card - Scars of Warfare} "Thank you, Lettie. For everything. Even when you hated me, I think you meant well."
Melancholic Blood: 10/10. A really freaking cool artifact, and the issues of having multiples are offset by the ability costing X. Really well done.

{Spoiler}{Response Card - Scars of Warfare} "Thank you, Lettie. For everything. Even when you hated me, I think you meant well." Melancholic Blood: 10/10. A really freaking cool artifact, and the issues of having multiples are offset by the ability costing X. Really well done. From the very start, Lettie's glare goes from being poorly veiled to being the intended message. It takes several minutes, about a third of an hour, before she can finally speak. She tries to speak matter-of-factly, but instead it is strained, halting, and filled with hatred, both inward and outward.
"The fallen Bitter Star's name was Wormwood."
She lets the statement hang upon the air, and tries to get her tone under control. It is locked at level now, and she speaks slowly, but at times, some strained words threaten to break free.
"I know well what you think of me, and how you think I saved you. I knew what I was when I took upon this name. I just cannot believe you're thanking me for what I did to you. Do not mock me this way. Even if I had tried to force you from this place for both your good and mine, we both know at this point that it was the wrong decision. And I never hated you. It was dismal business, even though I personally thought you were a well-meaning young lady, who happened to be a threat to herself and to me."
And I did it to get the idealistic and powerful mage who might see me for what I am at any moment far away from me, Lettie thinks, but does not say. I should have just let you kill me. To hell with it, Hilda's already marching to her death. She continues, her bitterness and resignation all too apparent.
"If you hated me for years, why did you save me just now, and before? Thank you, but why? So you can watch me rot? So I can continue to 'inspire' you? So you can pick up your next prescription? Just go. We both know that it is right. My life will run its course without you, as it should; there are many others like Troischa, like myself, who will take my place, soon." Fated Suffering
Sorcery Target player sacrifices a creature and gains 4 life.
I am Wormwood, the fallen Bitter Star, Who divorce'd of innocence, descended Upon the lakes and springs of a new world And intolerable, poison'd them all.
Scars of Warfare — It sure is a variant off of Tainted Remedy. No complaints. 9/10

test Seska let the one called Wormwood speak to her, allowed her to say things they both knew to be true, but only one of them was willing to say at that time. The aethersmith listened, and perhaps, accepted, what she was hearing, but she made no response. No indication she was unwilling to hear further, as Lettie explained herself. Lettie had taken time, possibly more than she would have wished, to compose her response. Seska, on the contrary, spoke hers a mere moment after Lettie had finished. She stood up straight, as if ready to deliver some, sweeping, grand statement, or perhaps that's how Lettie would interpret it. Her lips parted, and her response was... "Because it was the right thing to do, and because I promised you I would." She turned to leave, both knowing that such a gesture was only for appearances, given their nature as planeswalkers. She stopped however, mid-stride, and turned back, her figure cast against the rest of the rubble, a small flame of conviction in her gaze. "Goodbye Lettie. Please keep safe the familiar I gave you."---- Seska Erweigh has left the Arena. Fated Suffering: Weird black variant of things like Swords to Plowshares or similar effects, but I think it's interesting enough and it fits at common. 8/10

Lettie would hear some footsteps in the distance, followed by frantic running, which seemed oddly quiet... until she gets hugged by Aki. Aki realizes this may be awkward and stops. "...my apologies Wormwood-sama, but thank the kami you're safe"Soulful Reunion Instant - Arcane Choose one or both: -Target player draws a card -Target player gains 4 life
This is an assist, of course.
Lettie didn't notice that she was being approached, or even that she was being hugged until just before Aki had stopped. The sensation was present, but she felt more an immaterial observer of it than physically present and experiencing it.
"...my apologies Wormwood-sama, but thank the kami you're safe" I am not safe. My fate is already sealed; all you see now is a memory of what has already happened, she thinks, but pauses before saying, "Thank you, I... suppose I am safe... for now. Don't worry about your prescription, my other shops have the tools I need to prepare it. The ingredients should be delivered... well, today, I... suppose."
The Show Goes On Sorcery Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card, lose 1 life for each card revealed this way, then put those cards into your hand.
Soulful Reunion — This comes across as a bit of a nothing design, considering it's just a lifegain cantrip outside of very specific corner cases, such as the context of this assist, which I will credit; it also manages to be weaker than the 1W card it is probably based on. 6/10

A kithkin wearing a lightly loaded backpack steps out, gently holding a pouch in her hands. She scans around to get her bearings, freezing at the site of the ruined building.
Her attention is drawn by Aki's movements, and she breaths a sigh of relief on seeing Lettie outside of the rubble. "Lettie! What on earth happened? Are y'all okay?"
Late to the Party Sorcery You may put a nonland permanent card from your hand with converted mana cost less than the greatest converted mana cost among permanents you control onto the battlefield.
