test The satyr let out a bellowing laugh and took a few steps off the property. "Indeed indeed, I have no intention of staying in your way - I just do like to nap, you understand. I will cross this place off my list of spots, then." he says, the smile never wiped from his face. "Now that is an excellent question, isn't it? What did I see of you?" he asks aloud, thinking to himself, shaking his head. "Ah, I do not remember. But I know our paths will cross again in the future. But perhaps not! No future is set in stone, no matter what my visions show me."Juxtaposed Thoughts Enchantment Whenever a player would draw their first card in a turn, instead they reveal the top card of their library. They may put that card into their hand. If they don't, they put it on the bottom of their library, then draw a card. Nothing is ever quite as it seems."You would do very well to remember that, Miss..?"
Pact of Outrageous Fortune: Smaller pact? I like it. Makes pacts usable in the case of low mana or vs aggro (more than usual anyway - anything costing 0 is pretty good). And the Shakespeare quote? Feels like I could see this with an old border and everything! 9/10. Lettie makes no effort to hide the irritation creeping into her eyes at the lack of useful answer followed by unsolicited lecture. She answers "To you, I am Miss Wormwood. Do be sure to cross me again when you next have a vision." She glares at the satyr until he leaves—unless it so happens that he stays with more to say.
Captivating Sighting Instant Draw a card, then reveal a card from your hand. You gain life equal to that card's mana value. What seems to be is itself substance.
Juxtaposed Thoughts — Effectively symmetrical scry 1 every turn, with the caveat that it works on other peoples' turns. I think the symmetry and cost make this remarkably weak, to the point where I'm wondering what worth it has at 1 mv. This kind of symmetric scrying might otherwise have design potential due to its relative rarity. 7/10

Not too long into the winter, a particularly rough patch of storm hits just as most shops are beginning to close for the night. A hooded figure wearing a jacket suited to much hotter weather ducks into the nearest building with an unlocked door, closing it carefully behind her and taking a moment to scowl at such a foul turn of the weather. Looking back over the shop she's taken shelter in, the books, flasks, and taxidermied animals paint an odd picture. Warily reaching out just enough to look for another mind in the room, Allatu raises her voice above the howling of the winds outside: "Hello. I hope I have not intruded. What is for sale here, that I might make my presence worthwhile?" Fair Trade Sorcery Put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. Target opponent may put a permanent card from their hand onto the battlefield. If they do, exchange control of those permanents. What'll it be today?(Spending the valor to unlock sorceries.) From the moment Allatu steps into the shop, she might notice a few strange things. For one, a sharp and vivid image of her entering the shop forms in the rudimentary, minimal mind of a nearby taxidermied alligator, which is then sent into the aether, to a destination unknown. Then, the mental presence of the shopkeeper appears after a few seconds, but she acts as though she has only just walked into the storefront from a backroom. The awareness within the taxidermied animals all around dims as she draws near them. After that, Allatu might feel that the dark dress of the shopkeeper evokes a familiar impression.
The shopkeeper herself seems to recognize Allatu; she thinks with startling speed, seeming to recall certain loosely coupled facts simultaneously, not just the details of the telepath's appearance and abilities, but adjacent memories of the conversations in which she was given these details. She discards the memories before she recalls exact wording and voice, and intentionally derails her train of thought to mire it in various encyclopedic minutiae concerning botany. Then, seemingly separately, she recalls and lightly modifies a rehearsed statement. "Welcome. I am an apothecary; if you feel obligated to purchase something, I have various potions, alchemical reagents, plants, and I always have excess stock such as paraffin." She consciously omits that she also sells poisons and alchemical weapons, but any further motive is concealed beneath the fact that there are species of algae both single celled and multicellular, and that this is in part due to the lack of typical identifying features such as roots, leaves, rhizoids...
Trade Offer
I receive: an ETB and your thing. You receive: An activated ability outside your colours against an aristocrats player.
Fair Trade — An interesting reversal on Show and Tell that turns it into a race to the bottom. One common case for this is that it ramps you while remaining card advantage neutral, and your opponent gets something. I think that with donate/harmless offering as lower bounds, this is somewhat suspicious (especially taking into account the fact that you can build around this), but I love the design. 8/10

The man that arrives in the shop in her new home has a weird combination of familiar and different features. The adaptor pistol at his waist is almost identical to the one that was carried by Leira on many of her meetings with Lettie, with differences only visible on careful observation. He's also wearing a transceiver that was worn by every member of EPIC, though in contrast to the slim and simple design of the Entelan transceivers, his is lined with patterned metal and is outlined in platinum, something that wasn't seen anywhere with EPIC. The man is also wearing a dark brown jacket and cargo pants, neither of which were visible in the Entelan fashions."Heey," Rel starts once Lettie inevitably appears. "Do you happen to have some kind of small restoration serums? Something I might be able to slam back in a battle. Painkillers, some kind of Solari nonsense, whatever."Empty Vessel Artifact , : If Empty Vessel has no charge counters on it, put a charge counter on it. , , Remove a charge counter from Empty Vessel: It deals 2 damage to target creature that was dealt damage this turn. , , Remove a charge counter from Empty Vessel: Prevent the next 2 damage that would be dealt to any target.

Scarcely given time to process the oddity of the unliving mind, Allatu maintains a smile while recoiling mentally at the arrival of Lettie, harshly enough to be evident to the apothecary. In a process less like a snail retreating into its shell, and more akin to stuffing too many papers into a box, she recalls her mind back inside herself. Speaking only after the few seconds it takes for silence to set in as she does so: "I'm- I am sorry. It is evident you know what I do, and dislike it. I have done my best to prevent that discomfort from continuing, and hope you may feel free to cease recalling information pertaining to algae."She steps over to look at one of the many shelves, reaching out to take a closer look at one of the jars, before abruptly stopping. Under particularly attentive observation, the newfound tremor would be obvious. She stares at her hand for a second and returns it to her side before before clasping them behind her back. Turning quickly in place to face Lettie again: "Do you happen to sell textbooks, or anything else one could learn from? I have long been interested in the science of healing, but never before had enough time for it." "I happen to have painkillers, both alchemical and mundane, your choice of willow or papaver basis. What I recommend is alchemical regeneration, since that will save you from more immediate causes of death than shock. As for Solari, I do not know much about them, but I know that bioaetherics are hardly nonsense. By your familiarity, I suppose you have a compatible biology for some energy-based serums. Any of these options can be slammed back in the midst of battle." Lettie waits for signs of deliberation from the customer before she tries to catch them off guard with a question she tries to present as innocuous. "I don't recall any aether tunnels being built around here, but for the Project's. How did you arrive on this plane?" Stagnance Urisk Creature — Faerie Counters can't be put on artifacts.

Empty Vessel — This comes off as very weak and slow, and being on-board for effects that would rather not be that. It's an interesting enough rep of energy that I hope to see improved implementations of this basic concept. 6/10

Rel is definitely considering answers to the original statements before Lettie interjects again. He doesn't seem especially flustered, possibly from having expected the question. "Oh, probably the way most other people did, if my intel is to be believed. I'm a planeswalker. Sending people like me around means we don't have to put Tunnels everywhere. Uh..." Rel looks around at Lettie's stock while he answers, though now he seems to be trying to remember what he was trying to answer. "I'm hybrid aetheric, yeah. Most of the Empire is, really; super rare to see NAH's around. Mm... yeah, alchemical regeneration works. I can't tell you which'll be better, so... whichever tastes less like mud.""Uh, are you on the Network? Can I burn Technocracy credits here or do you need something more physical?"I really want to see Stagnance Urisk against a Modular deck, just to watch them cry. Unsure on that point. 10/10 Lettie, like any storekeeper, has her attention drawn by the hand reaching for her wares; she notices the tremor, but says nothing of it yet. She is more preoccupied with the glimmer of perceived condescension in such pains being taken for petty matters as dislike and discomfort. "The privacy of one's mind is less a matter of simple comfort as much as it is basic to any possible peace. It is considerate of you to respect that final sanctuary. Alas, you will have to proceed using guesswork, as I must." Lettie takes a moment, for good measure, to imagine the effects of pale morningstar powder or crimson mask plague on Allatu, just in case she has meanwhile intruded again.
"Now then, the books are not for sale, but I have lent them for a small price before, provided the confidence that they will be returned in good condition. I carry books concerning the preparation of medicine from base components, according to both magical and mundane methods, and I also have a smattering of diagnostic manuals and books on basic treatments and various anatomies. Of course, you won't be much of a physic or a master surgeon with these. I am, after all, just an apothecary, though I am considered comparably qualified to give medical advice. There are also a handful of glossaries and publications on useful casting materials for healing transmutations, though those are for my native form of magic, one that I've seldom seen anywhere else in the multiverse. Would any of that be helpful to you?"
Silenced Night Sorcery This spell can't be cast if you've cast another spell this turn. Destroy target creature. If it's your turn, end the turn. Buzzing Bureaucrat — I feel like a significant part of this thing's value is going to be coming from being a good flier at 2, like a particularly annoying kind of hatebear. It also seems somewhat distasteful given the treatment of contemporary hate of this kind such as Monologue Tax. Otherwise, there is potential in the inclusion of an ability more relevant in later game on a flier (which can function as a defensive payoff, when it's not costed like this). 7/10

This is a servant of an imperial crown. Lettie considers trying to pressure the customer into buying the energy-based stock, which she has considerably less demand for, but decides that it is too soon to pressure a new arrival. She'll just adjust the prices if she feels the need, later on. "Well, we'll see how mud compares to alchemical regeneration then." Lettie measures out some portions to sell over the counter, while explaining. "I can't accept non-physical currency. In fact, confidence in currency was so low around here at one point that I had to rely on bartering. Thank you for your understanding."Let's go for a bit of a synergy piece here.
Tunnel Guard — This affects triggers on every token. Intangible virtue, iirc, expects to be active on two tokens at a time at least, and it was very good. In the end, the fact that this all just gets centered on one creature without evasion makes it a bit tough to call. 8/10

"Well, it'd be irresponsible of me to not carry some kinda physical currency. The mint might not do ya any good, but the metals'll be worth something." Rel reaches into a pocket, withdraws a coin purse and pulls out a few coins each of a variety of metals. He points to them as he lists them off, in case the merchant isn't trained for all of the metals. "Got gold, silver. A bit of platinum here, always carry some aethersteel on me. Oh, I'm still carrying xanite too, how 'bout that?"This card seems very good. Maybe a sultai or even GU deck can make use out of the backside the best, but it's good to have other options on your card draw. 10/10 Aethersteel RefineryLand : Add . , : Create a colorless artifact token named Aethersteel Ingot with "Sacrifice this token: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool."

Aethersteel Refinery — Thinking of Royal Domain when I see this, which had the Petal ability at 3 generic. Probably fair, but it's hard to call. Speaking of petals, those were also a not-Treasure, but they still had the tap-cost fix, which Ingots don't. 8/10

After a bit of haggling, Lettie ends up with some Dairan mint coins ranging from 188 EY to 253 EY. One side of them remains constant, featuring an emblem on a side that reads either reads「One Gold - Dairan Standard Bank」 or 「One Silver - Dairan Standard Bank」 while the other side goes through a variety of different images of castles, mountains, and islands, labeled with names like Arghivi, Reks, and Senva. Peace without communication is sure to end we- focus on the conversation. Allatu forces a single laugh, oblivious to the thoughts of harm against her. "I must apologize in advance then, I am poorly trained in guesswork. I do not mean to excuse my failings in that area, I just hope forewarning will lessen their impact." She considers the list given to her for a moment, speaking aloud her thought process. "My current lodgings are in a roadside inn not far from here, by the name of Shelley's. If this is familiar to you to a degree sufficient to, alongside my word, ensure the safety of your books, I would be very pleased to study from them. I have learned in my years that my anatomy is quite distinct from that of humans, so though I do not presume to know that your diagnostic materials only cover the human case, I am unsure of the scope of their use. Concerning the preparatory instructions, how much is expected of me to know before applying their knowledge? I am truly ignorant in this field." From the Depths of Memory Sorcery You may cast target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard this turn. If that card would be put into your graveyard this turn, exile it instead. Exile From the Depths of Memory. "Now where did I put that one . . ."
Huh! Very interesting concept, and well thought out with a nice name to boot. Strongest when the restrictions are most stringent, I think this is in the right spot balancewise. 10/10

10/10 Lettie knows well enough that her thinly veiled threats should not warrant a laugh, and she raises an irritated eyebrow. Well, I was never trained in guesswork, yet I survived this long. You'll just have to play by the rules I have lived by. Despite that, she would need to be on close to amicable terms with Allatu in the coming months. She lets the joy of exposition wash away her misgivings. "The majority of my experience has been aiding humans; they are the only mortals on my home plane. In the past year, I have dabbled in elven, bioaetheric, aven, all sorts of anatomy... though I have never seen anything of your species before. The only sort of training I am confident in passing on as... a practitioner of the Worshipful Company... would be the healing of humans. Even then, in a short amount of time you would only be acquiring the very basics of dressing wounds and monitoring the health of a patient, as well as recipes for the most basic remedies, for example drying and sifting for powdered willow bark; then, still as an example, once you have learned some chemical procedures, you can undertake a more refined process for acquiring salicin, then salicylic acid— I am getting ahead of myself. One moment please."
Lettie planeswalks a few times, each time leaving a shroud of foul miasma, and returning with a book to place on the counter, until she has stacked three books this way. "I can lend you a book for the basics of dressing superficial wounds, another book for traditional remedies and their recipes, and a third book detailing basic chemical procedures. Diagnostics from the first will help you prescribe remedies of the second, and the third will help you later learn refinements of the second." She takes a moment to straighten the stack, and rests a hand on top of it as she concludes. "As for anything approaching my ability, I was learning chemical procedures beginning at twelve, and learning to gather materials such as herbs since I could remember. I was an apprentice, regularly preparing remedies, since I was fifteen, and I was recognized as a qualified practitioner at twenty-one. I would very much like to have my books returned before three years pass, much less nine. Try and return them within three months." Mire's Embrace Instant Exile target card from a graveyard. Search your library for a basic Swamp card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle. From the Depths of Memory — Taking as a comparison to Backburner, in which we exchange the cast speed for an additional targeting option. No issues here. 9/10

Allatu listens in rapt attention as Lettie goes on, waiting a few seconds past necessary to begin speaking after she finishes. "I do not dream of acquiring the degree of skill you possess, I merely seek to help where I can. I must thank you many times over for this opportunity, and will ensure your materials are well taken care of and returned in a timely fashion." Pausing for a moment to consider the stack, she rummages through her pockets for appropriate payment, picking out a small collection of gems and assorted jewelry. Looking to Lettie for approval of the amount, she lays them on the counter and removes her thin jacket, wrapping it several times around the books in the hopes of protecting them from the snow.As Allatu steps to the door, she distinctly winces, and the feeling of eyes everywhere briefly but perceptibly returns to the shop before retreating again to her mind. Turning to face Lettie with her hand on the doorknob, "A new apology," and with a slight smile, "though perhaps also a formal introduction. I am Allatu Kishar, and I hope in our next meeting, under better circumstances, I may learn your name." With that, she steps out into the howling gale and begins trudging away.
Fun riff on Cremate and its ilk! 9/10

testThe satyr laughs loudly, and shakes his head. "Very well, Miss Wormwood. I will be absolutely sure to let you know what else I see in my visions - if you are even around that long, of course." he says, turning and walking away. Captivating Sighting : Nice. 9/10.

The best spies are the most unassuming.1/1 Some shops fall out of use, and in time become little more than storage spaces. Lettie is still in the process of moving her books to her new home, so several fill the shelves here, some with loose parchment in-between pages, either as bookmarks or as old notes for calculations. Some of the books are old enough that their spines are clearly frayed. What potions there are in this shop are of a non-volatile, long-lasting kind. One taxidermied animal watches the front, and another watches behind the counter, near a drawer where Lettie keep some loose goods and currency for trade. Depending on Anne's form of telepathy, she might sense the rudimentary awareness within the animals, the alarms, but they don't seem to pay any mind to something as small as an ant. For now, that ant is free to take a closer look.
Formic Acid Sorcery Put a -1/-1 counter on target creature.
Whenever one or more creatures you control with power 2 or less deal combat damage to an opponent, you may cast Formic Acid from your graveyard this turn.
Going with a synergy piece since nothing's stopping the ant yet.
Formic Infiltrator — The proper wording is "can't be blocked this turn", iirc. Taking this as a variant off Subterranean Scout, it seems just fine, though with less utility in limited due to curve position. 8/10

Formic Acid is a neat card, but I'm not sure if it's common because of the repeatable recursion with a trigger. 8/10 033V33 continued to look around the shop, crawling up the desks to look closer at the books. Natural Flora, Fauna, and Materials (This book has so many notes crammed between its pages that it almost seems to be the cause of its frayed spine) Practical Galvanism and Commentary on Motor Control (This has a somewhat poorly aged pair of parchments in it) Developments in the Great Work (This has a single slip of paper in it) Analytic Chemistry and Alchemy (This one is filled with slips of paper) Principles of Diagnosis Dictionary of Sympathetic Components Annals of Alchemy, Volume 25 Annals of Alchemy, Volume 26 An Incomplete Guide to Calavan The Cultivation of Novea (This is barely more than a loose bundle of pages) Flora and Fauna of Eralou The Lotus Hunter's Almanac The Broods of Tarkir The Book of Kith and Kin The Book of Other Folk Bioaetherics, Year I (This seems to have several pieces of paper tucked into it) Bioaetheric Analysis Techniques Aether-Energy Metabolism (This has what appears to be carbon paper tucked into it) Imbuements and Mutations of the Everchange Rot Farmer's Manual Gyome's Guide to Pest Breeding Mycology of Innistrad Excerpts on the Carving of Eldrazi The Great Calamity: A History Into the Inferno The Poet's Musings (This one seems to have some poorly folded pieces of parchment sticking out of it)
A handful of the paper slips tucked into books seem to be newspaper clippings with headlines sticking out at odd angles, sharing news about "...Ransacks Calamity Junction!" and "Rawthlin Man Shoots..."
What might the little spy do now? Careless Toss Instant Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn. That creature gets -13/-13 until end of turn instead if its controller discarded a card this turn.
Odd Investigator — Seems to expect to deal about 2 damage, which seems fair, so far. Not certain about how power scaling fits into the rest of the picture yet, but no real complaints. 9/10

Unless something were to happen to distract her, Lettie takes the moment to pick out some of her older books, and organize them in a stack, briefly checking inside some of them to straighten some of the parchment notes, and perhaps transfer some of them to other books, if only for the health of the older ones. Climbing Ant — You haven't marked a rarity for this, and it does matter; at higher rarities, a premium can easily be achieved with cards such as Selfless Spirit. This design also brings to mind Leapfrog, which has a somewhat wider range of uses too, such as casting instants to block in the air (and a different relationship to the curve). This sort of evasive attacker seems like it could be useful in a planeswalker heavy environment at least, if it were common. 7/10

The striking sound of Atlani planeswalking rings through the air outside of one of Lettie's shops, followed by the sound of boots in the snow, then the door opening as Atlani makes her way inside, carrying a small drone. She kicks the snow off her boots at the door before looking around the shop. "Hello? I believe I found two things that match the description you gave. I managed to catch the smaller one, but the larger one vanished."Atlani's careful not to touch anything, though she does nonchalantly look through the shelves. Forsaken Hunter Creature - Human Warrior Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, put a +1/+1 counter on ~. 2/2

"Nulien Emergency Transmission: Prototype zero is still missing. Bring all information to Transition Station Beta."
Her distaste is apparent in her expression, but she tries to maintain a professional disposition. "If the larger one had evaded you so easily as to vanish, then it was likely the target. In this sense, your work is incomplete. However, I will provide you some compensation in exchange for this one, and for any relevant information concerning the one that evaded you." Lettie holds out a hand for the drone.
Snipe Hunter Creature — Human Scout Reach When Snipe Hunter enters the battlefield, each opponent creates two 1/1 white Bird creature tokens with flying. 3/3
Let's go with a synergy piece since we're still "co-operating".
Forsaken Hunter — A baby Yahenni I take it. This seems like a fair enough exchange, paying itself off after one trigger. Note that Eternal Thirst is at uncommon, however. 8/10

Snipe Hunter: 10/10. I'm a fan of things that are cheap mana-wise but have other costs. Atlani hands over the drone. "Four-armed machine, one is a blade, one fires some form of explosion, and two meant to repair itself. I managed to cut an arm off and it bled oil, though managed to collect said oil during repairs. Oddly, it did not run away, per se, as it perhaps teleported. I'll admit it's rather more complex than any machine I've seen before, though I suppose next time I'll know what to expect."Reap Spirit
Sorcery Creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. Whenever a creature dies this turn, you gain 1 life.

The wheels whir uselessly as Lettie sets the drone on its back. The whirring slows and eventually stops after her stomp. A few seconds after they do, a dead-man's spell inside the drone fires, briefly opening the Blind Eternities and sending a piece of the device's internals back to its home plane.
The drone's exterior remains, and no further power or spells stem from it.
Break Down Instant Destroy target artifact. Until end of turn, artifact spells cost more to cast.

Lettie feels something disturb her presence within the Blind Eternities. I was not expecting that. It would be troublesome if that was some vital salvage, though it seems unlikely, given how much of the chassis remains. Perhaps it can still be restored? Lettie takes a moment to pry the exterior open to see how much remains within; it's just as well, considering that she needs more than just a single strike of damage for this to be convincing. She stays alert as she does so; the same technology had once called reinforcements to a location, after all. Tear Open Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice an artifact or creature. Draw two cards. You lose 2 life.
Sacrifice the target to fizzle the tax.
Break Down — I wouldn't call this the best example of gold, considering it could be monocolour, and it doesn't represent a shared interest. It's also not clear if this is worth it in terms of tempo, considering that you lose excess tempo on this card's cost. 7/10
