mrlozano blueseclipse pacifistwestwoman Choo choo! The steam whistle blows, signaling it's last call, as well as many conductors and officials shouting "Last call! All aboard!", as the scent of steam and oil wafts in the air. As you board the train, Khon, Xander, and Michi get on just fine, although they get a second glance from the conductor. However, as Doer attempts to get on the train, the ticketmaster stops him. He's a short man, roughly 5'6'', with a bushy mustache. "Now, excuse me son, but it doesn't quite look like you exactly have a spark. There's something there, but not... it. I just need you to say that you accept the risks." he expains.---Whomever continues on would find the cabin quite nice. Cushioned chairs, much like restaurant booths, line the walls, with bells on the table, being able to notify the service that you are in need of their services. It was rather luxurious, and planeswalkers from all walks of life and forms and species were there, chatting with their friends. One group consists of men who seem to be made of energy, and wearing old-west style clothes, one in a cowboy hat, and the other three with energy that seemed to be in the form of slick hair. They seemed to be relaxing and having a good time. Another group consisted of a lizardman and three avians, quietly whispering about something. A third notable group consisted of a couple only - a harpy seemed to be lovingly talking to a merfolk across the table. It was all very interesting. The Celestial Express Artifact - Vehicle Whenever a creature crews The Celestial Express, add one mana of any color. Crew 3 6/6 Welcome aboard! Consider the first round your prehorde preparation round.

Khon looks around the train contemplatively as he boards, making his way towards a booth in one of the corners of the room, seating himself so that he can view the entire cabin. Making a brief note of where the cats, along with Xander, are, he quickly scans the rest of the individuals present - noting the figure of luminescent power wearing a cowboy hat that seems somewhat reminiscent of the bounty notice he saw posted. Frowning to himself, he allows a single small blade to slide out from under his cloak, with directions to try and move along the floor, out of sight, in order to get close to the group of energy beings in case they turn out to be related to the wanted poster. Meanwhile, he pulls out a small set of tools, and begins polishing his glaive, keeping an eye on things. Quartermaster's Tools Artifact Equipped creatures your team controls get +1/+1. Walking into the cabin, Xander makes a quick scan of the room before sitting down at the booth next to Khon's. He looks intently at the energy-beings, with a mix of "I've never seen anything like this in person before" and "why do they seem familiar..." After giving up on trying to place the energy beings, and failing to determine what the avians and the lizardman are talking about, Xander settles into his seat, and begins reading a small information packet about their destination. Magus Supporter Creature - Human Wizard Instants and sorceries your team casts cost less to cast. 2/2

Doer looks at the ticketmaster. "The risks are the best part." ---The cats enter the train. Michi looks at his surroundings, making a mental image of the scene. When he seems Khon and Xander he runs towards them and takes a sit next to the boy. "Hello, meowster Khon, meowster Xander! Nice to see you here!" He takes out his sketchbook and starts drawing the scene. Meanwhile, Doer nods at Khon and Xander and continues exploring the coach. The Weapon looks like a small dagger, not menacing at all. Doer is wearing a cowboy hat and a red scarf around his neck, so he looks more ridiculous than threatening. Michi's usual hat is inside his suitcase. Doer approaches the energy beings, but doesn't initiate a conversation. He just stands there, looking at them with a very Doery glance until he situation becomes uncomfortable for both parts. Then he returns to his exploration.Michi on Holidays Legendary Planeswalker - Michi Whenever your team casts an instant or sorcery spell, scry 1. : Draw a card, then put a card from your hand on top of your library. : Reveal the top card of your library. If it's an instant or sorcery card, you and each of your teammates copy that card. You and your teammates may cast the copies and spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast them. Then, draw a card. Cowboy Doer Legendary Creature - Cat Rogue Whenever your team casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets ~ you may copy it up to two times (The copies target this creature). 3/2 Using Michi's +1, drawing an Island, then putting that Island on top. Feels kinda bad. So, current battlefield for the Cats: Michi on Holidays at 4 loyalty. Cowboy Doer with summoning sickness. EDIT 31/9: Fixed a typo.

blueseclipse Quartermaster's Tools: I like it. Solid "team equipment" card. 9/10. pacifistwestwoman Magus Supporter: Technically better Goblin Electromancer, probably fine though. 8/10. mrlozano Michi on Holidays: I like the static and +1. The -4's a little wonky I feel. 9/10. Cowboy Doer: I like this. Works for red and no natural evasion to make it u l t r a. 10/10. | 9.5/10.| The energy beings aren't the only ones getting the eye. Khon's knife slips unnoticed, and before Doer can get to the table, one of the energy beings give a look at the bladesman. Instead of a face, there appeared only to be a brand in the shape of a box. His energy was green in color, before he turned back to his group, laughing along with them. That little recon knife would be able to get closer, and sure enough, he bore resemblance to the wanted poster. Same cowboy hat, brand of Ω, yellow glow. The avians and lizardman continually glance back and forth between the energy beings, and the table of Khon, Xander and Michi. The lizardman seemed particularly uncomfortable, and stared at Khon feverishly as he polished his weapon. As Doer approaches the table, the energy beings give him a look, their noise slowly dying down. "What the hell..?" the blue one mutters. They just stare back at him until he decides to move away. "Whatever..." says the one from the poster.Doer leaves the table, and the train blows one last whistle and starts moving as he does so. The train moves quickly, and outside the windows you are transported from The Arena to the eternities, then back to a plane with a beautiful ocean view on either side. Doer would feel slightly nauseous as the train planeswalked, The energy men seem to quiet down, before the wanted one puts his feet up on the table. He turns to the lizardman and the birds, and speaks loudly. "Let's just get this over with, yeah?" he says, suddenly reaching into a holster at his side and pointing what looks to be a pistol directly at the lizard. "One move from the birds or any of you," he says to the cabin, "and someone's gonna lose their head." he says, and as he's talking, the three other energy men stand up and point two guns each in any direction, waiting for a sign of movement to aim their weapon. The other passengers on the cabin are murmuring and panicking, but remaining mostly still. The blue energy being is facing the direction of Khon, Michi, and Xander, and the green one is facing towards Doer's direction. The fourth pink one is taking a freelance position, aiming at anyone suspicious. What you're facing: mrlozano - Due to Doer's slight nausea, your maximum CMC is reduced by for this round. Stardust Guard Creature - Elemental Outlaw First strike 3/2 x3Stardust Captain Creature - Elemental Outlaw Whenever Stardust Captain or another Outlaw you control deals combat damage to a player, put a +1/+1 counter on Stardust Captain. 2/2 Possible Objectives: - Save yourselves! Your health is currently 20. - Save the other passengers! Currently on your carriage there are: - Yourselves (x4) - The outlaws (x4) - The lizard and avians (x4) - The harpy/merfolk couple (x2) - A group of three humans (x3) Each passenger aside from players and outlaws are 2/2's with their given creature type.
- Defeat the outlaws! For this Horde, casting Shock at a Stardust Guard will only defeat it's card for that round, not permanently in-story (For story telling purposes). Notes: - For the sake of in-game purposes, the other passengers are treated as opponents. Think of it like EDH - technically an opponent, but it might be beneficial to keep them alive. (I'll update the notes as questions/other things arise.) - CLARIFICATION: When I said the thing about killing the creatures, what I actually mean is: killing them won't stop them in the story, but it will prevent them from acting next round. It's an easy round to start off.

Stardust Guard: 7/10. Seems a bit overcosted to me. Stardust Captain: 10/10. The captain seems to me like a really good way to go for an Outlaw tribal card. Xander looks up when the energy men speak. When they finish, he whispers a small spell under his breath, and the cabin quickly fills with a strange gas. The energy men find that it impairs their aim, the other passengers figure they could sneak out from under the metaphorical eyes of the energy men (now that I think about it I dunno if they could, because I don't know how the energy men actually see, but still), but Doer, Michi, and Khon barely notice it. "And here I thought we could have a nice quiet train ride." Xander says aloud before speaking to the thematically-dressed hunter."Doer, I'd say some prey are open." Subtle Advantage Instant Creatures target player controls get -2/-0 until end of turn. Creatures target player controls get +0/+2 until end of turn. "Even the smallest advantage can quickly become the key to a swift victory."Costs less due to Magus Supporter(not that costs actually matter) The Outlaws get -2/-0 until end of turn. The lizard and the avians get +0/+2 until end of turn. Edit: added ratings for the Stardust cards.

Doer nods to Xander. "Michi, cover me!" Michi steps on the table and takes out his cane and his hat. He puts the hat on and with a veeery 'fierce' smile shouts "I've got you brother!" Doer sneaks throught the gas, the Weapon on hand, with the form of a bigger dagger. In a flashy movement he disarms the energy man who is pointing at the team, then jumps behind it and before the guy can react he turns the Weapon into a battlehammer and hits its head with a single crushing blow. Then he goes one by one, hitting the thughs with the weapons shifting shapes. He finishes and turns to see his job. Only the leader reamais unharmed. "I could have dealt with that one too if this thing wasn't so..." He coughs and spits a hairball. "Your move, rust pile!" Meanwhile, Michi cast a spell on the other passengers, making them feel more relaxed.Erase the Weak Sorcery Destroy all creatures with power 1. "If you were stronger, you would have resisted it. If you were weaker, I wouldn't have bothered to kill you. Unlucky." -Doer Growing Health Instant You gain 1 life for each creature with toughness 4 or greater. After Xander's attack, I destroy the three Stardust Guards. We also gain 4 life, because of the avians and the lizarman. The Stardust Captain remains up for Khon Using Michi's +1, not affecting the "game". So, current battlefield for the Cats: Michi on Holidays at 5 loyalty. Cowboy Doer without summoning sickness.

Khon stands as the energy beings draw their weapons, while his allies spring into action - Xander casting a spell to shroud the car in mist, Doer dealing with the grunts, and Michi working to calm the other passengers. Stepping forward, he says to the leader, "If you believe that you can take someone's head, you are welcome to try and claim mine - though you'll find that my blades are more than a match for your guns." With that, the blade he released earlier spins through the air behind the leader, while a second blade soars out from beneath Khon's cloak. Khon calmly draws his own glaive, ready to respond to any attack. Bladeborn Challenger Artifact Creature - Construct Knight First strike As long as Bladeborn Challenger is untapped, opponents can only attack you. Only one creature may attack each combat. Only one creature may block each combat. 4/4My existing Germ with equipped Glaive will attack (a 2/2 vs the now 0/2 Stardust Captain will kill it.) Khon Vasq uses his +1 to spawn a second Glaive, putting him at 5 Loyalty.

pacifistwestwoman Subtle Advantage: I like it. Not super convinced on the hybrid, maybe just ? 8/10. mrlozano Erase the Weak: Hella neat. Feels like it should've already been printed, honestly. 10/10. Growing Health: Weird name, kinda niche and useless in a lot of situations. I appreciate synergizing with pacifist's card though. 7/10. --> 8.5/10. blueseclipse Bladeborn Challenger: Seems like a lot on just one creature, even as a 6 mana 4/4. Probably fine though, given it's multiplayer aspect at it's core. 8/10. The three men are knocked down and Khon challenges the supposed leader. He just lets out a laugh, the brand on his face seemingly glowing in time with his laughter. Confidence Instant Target creature gets +0/+2 until end of turn. Scry 1. "Ah, well, I'll give you that. Wasn't expecting some elite merc force or something to be on board." he says, sitting with his feet on the table. "And really, you think your knives are better than guns? Better think again, metal skull." He swings the revolver around his finger, aiming it straight at Khon. As he pulls the trigger, he instantly swerves it in the direction of Doer. Instead of a bullet firing, a tiny ball of flame quickly expands into a large blast of fire heading right for the feline. The heat seems to form... a face?Flamewoven Elemental Creature - Elemental When ~ enters the battlefield, it deals 4 damage to target creature or planeswalker. When ~ dies, exile it, then create 4 1/1 red Elemental creature tokens. 4/4 As the flames speed out of the weapon, from behind Xander comes a muttered spell and a purple magic gag appears over his mouth and magical ropes bind his arms. A human is casting spells on him, attempting to cut off the source of the fog and the source of any more distraction.
Disguised Traitor Creature - Human Warlock Outlaw Vigilance When ~ enters the battlefield, target opponent can't cast spells this turn. Whenever an opponent casts a spell, they lose 1 life. 4/4 And Khon would suddenly hear screeching as harsh talons ripped at him from behind, aiming for his neck.
Fierce Harpy Creature - Harpy Outlaw Flying 4/2 Michi's calming spell seemed to have no effect, as the cabin turns to chaos. The original Outlaws who lay on the ground knocked out seem to be regenerating, as energy from seemingly nowhere flows slowly into their bodies.--- To clarify the board state: Flamewoven Elemental: It's enter the battlefield trigger is targeting Cowboy Doer. Disguised Traitor: Targeting pacifistwestwoman. However, this happens after the elemental. Fierce Harpy: Attacking the Khon planeswalker. Confidence: Targeting Stardust Captain to prevent Germ token death. --- It seems some of the passengers you were trying to protect have gone rogue! Without any clear signs, though, sometimes you can't tell friend from foe. The Board:The Players: - Life Total (20) - Khon Vasq, Compleated Knight (5 loyalty) - Germ with a Glaive (2/2) - Germ with a Glaive (2/2) - Quartermaster's Tools- Michi on Holiday (4 loyalty) - Cowboy Doer (3/2) - Magus Supporter (2/2) The Outlaws: - Stardust Captain (0/4 while blocking Germ, 2/2 at this turn.) - Flamewoven Elemental (4/4, attempting 4 damage from EtB at Cowboy Doer.) - Disguised Traitor (4/4, silencing pacifistwestwoman during the Horde's turn.) - Fierce Harpy (4/2 flying, attacking Khon Vasq, Compleated Knight.) - Stardust Outlaws x3 (3/2 first strike's in graveyard.) The Passengers: - Lizard (2/2) - Avian x3 (2/2) - Human x2 (2/2) - Merfolk (2/2)

The fireball-thing-elemental approaches Doer. The cat tries to jump at it, but the travel sickness hits him and has to back on a seat to regain some stabilty. With the fire almost scorching his fur he turns the weapon into a broadsword, as big as him. "Meowck you, meowstard!" The sword comes down on the fireball and the cat gets surrounded by fire.Michi looks at the passengers, as the outlaws reveal themselves. "Xander, you need a paw?" He quickly casts a spell to cover both Khon, Xander and himself. As he turns to apply the spell to Doer, the cat emerges from the fire, sword in hand, with the fur barely scorched. "Meowstards..." The elemental... (I don't actually control what happens to the elemental ) Otherwordly Weapons Sorcery Until end of turn, target creature gets +1/+1 and gains "If a creature dealt damage by this creature this turn would die, exile it instead." "Death is inevitable and irrevocable." Michi's Protection Instant Your team gains hexproof until end of turn. Draw a card. Otherwordly Weapons targets Cowboy Doer, giving him +3/+3 by being copied two times. If he kills the elemental this turn, it will be exiled and create no tokens, but that hast'n occurred yet (I think). Michi on Holidays uses his +1. Current battlefield: Michi at 6 Doer is a 6/5 with "If a creature dealt damage by this creature this turn would die, exile it instead" until end of turn. He has 4 damage marked on him.

Xander exclaims wordlessly as he is restrained by the harpy's magic, and ducks under the table while trying to dispel the restraints. (Waits until end of turn so that the effect ends)I could kill that one in one hit, right? Guess we'll find out. Xander thinks to himself. As soon as he gets his wrists free, he emerges from the table, draws his blades, and jumps over the booth to get to the warlock, in an attempt at some payback. Khon twists, bringing his own blade up to deflect the worst of the harpy's strike as it rakes at him from above. His eyes narrow as he summons another of his small living blades from his cloak, joining the other two in keeping the leader of the outlaws at bay. Watching the harpy for a moment, Khon steps back, allowing several blades to whirl out from beneath his cloak, locking together above his head to form what appears to be a draconic shape. It lets out a roar at the harpy, a gale of slicing winds accompanying it, before turning its attention towards the outlaw leader as well. Bladestorm Dragon Artifact Creature - Dragon Construct When Bladestorm Dragon enters the battlefield, it deals X damage to any target, where X is the number of Equipment you control. Sacrifice Bladestorm Dragon: Search your library for any number of Equipment cards with total converted mana cost 7 or less and put them onto the battlefield. Whenever an Equipment enters the battlefield this turn, you may attach it to target creature you control. 5/5Khon uses his +1 to create a third Glaive token (attached to a Germ token). Bladestorm Dragon's ETB will deal 3 damage to Fierce Harpy, which is enough to kill it. Bladestorm Dragon, along with all Germ tokens, will attack Stardust Captain.

mrlozano - 9/10pacifistwestwoman - 9/10blueseclipse - 8/10Sorry for quick-rates TM I just lost this post a couple times so I just want to finally get it out there. The elemental man stands quickly, tapping on a metal band around his wrist. "You ijits ever think that maybe, this lizard-brain is the bad guy and more people than not want him dead? Maybe we ain't all the bad ones here. You don't even know why you're defending this scaled sack of sh--" he's cut off, as the train suddenly lurches and planeswalks. For a moment the shining Blind Eternities are visible outside the window, before suddenly they're in a ghastly swamp -- thinking back, this wasn't on the itinerary, and neither was the lack of rails as the train screeched and lurched about, tossing it's passengers all around. The Forgotten BaysPlane - Farens When you planeswalk to or away from The Forgotten Bays, return all nonland permanents to their owner's hands. : Whenever you roll , you may put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. As the train screeches to a halt, it's passengers are tossed heavily around. However, the elemental men - even the unconscious ones - and the lizardman remain where they are. Else, everyone else is incapacitated for a moment. Suddenly, the men off the floor stand up rapidly.Rapid Regeneration Sorcery Return up to three target creature cards with toughness 2 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. (Targeting the 3/2 first strike's from before.)The man all shoot towards each of their targets - one at Khon, another at Michi, the final at Xander, while the main leader grabs the lizardman suddenly and holds the pistol to his head, not firing for some reason. "Go ahead, ask me - I see it in your eyes, ask me why we all want this scaly dead!"No Hesitation Sorcery Creatures you control get +2/+0 and gain haste until end of turn. Khon Vasq - Due to your hardened body and experience, you are mostly unscathed and can continue normally. Michi and Doer - Michi's a bit squishy, but is okay - after all, cats always land on their feet. Doer, on the other hand, feels incredibly ill from the lurching planeswalk, even after landing on his feet. You cannot use Tactical Imperator this round. Xander - You're mostly alright, but your lack of experience and overall mage constitution makes your head hurt. Your maximum CMC is reduced by this round.
There are 3 5/2's with haste and first strike attacking, one at each of you, as well as a 4/2 Stardust Captain who is not attacking. Because this round is a little unfair, you each get one free . Not the roll - the effect. You may put one card from your hand on to the battlefield (however, slight restriction, it has to be something designed before in this horde). However, this takes place after combat on this turn, so you still have to deal with these creatures.
