The soldier ran into the tall building, asking for the girl.  When he was told she was injured by a crazy robot, he swore under his breath.  As he asked to see her, they escorted him to her and he walked into the room.  "Hey, Karina!  Are you okay?" he asked, kneeling down next to her.  "I... I'm sorry I left.  I had no idea what that rowboat was doing - I went to talk to him and he told me you were trying to kill him.  So I came to defend you against him." he sighed.  "I guess I was a little late.  If you don't mind, I'd like to be a bodyguard.  Free of charge."

The soldier nodded.  "I understand.  I won't be around all the time, you seem able to defend yourself from minor threats.  But I'll keep an eye on you." he explained, not wanting to suffocate the girl.  "..." he nodded as she told him she had someone to help him, remaining silent.  "...That sounds great." he had no intention of particularly accepting the help, but he had to remain strong in front of the girl.  His spear glowed, quietly crackling with red energy, leaning against the wall, right in Karina's vision, while the oblivious Aiden had no idea.

Last Will: I'd say I'm worried about infinite life with infinite bounce/dies triggers, but that's honestly the least of the issues if you can get that.  Plus, in a void, it's a good black enchantment. 9/10. Just for the fact it's not draining something which feels a little less black, and triggers on leaving and not just death.

And huh - all things must come full circle then?  I totally planned for that and it was NOT coincidence

Spear Spirit - kinda expensive for giving an equip discount, and dunno that it quite needs to be symmetric at three mana. 8/10

Reflection in the Water almost wonder if this could be a hair cheaper, since damage tends to be easier than targeting, tho the Morphling might be enough to offset it. 8/10

The soldier turned around, looking at the weapon.  "Uh... yes.  But usually not this bright.  That weird energy spear..." he muttered that last part, before the spear began to rattle violently.  He moved to grab it, but the room was soon filled with a flash of bright light, and as he uncovered his eyes and looked back, he saw a figure of a... small girl?  Roughly Karina's age, it was a bright white but crackled red and swirled with black. Aiden stared, open-mouthed and wide-eyed at the figure.  After a moment of silence, the spirit looked at Karina, it's eyes narrowing slightly, then back to Aiden, and then a light girl's voice echoed throughout the room:

"Daddy?"

Behind the Veil: (I honestly didn't even think of the symmetricalness but it worked out) and I like the equally ambiguous response (as in, friend or foe?).  Good card too, could see it in a MXX set, 10/10.

Don't. Say. Anything. The voice in our head was stupid but we weren't sure what else to do anyway. We turned from the shifty-eyed spirit to Aiden expectantly.

The hat jumped back from the light and instantly regretted it as Karina's head reeled. Running wasn't going to be an option. "Rose!" the hat tried to refocus their thoughts. "We've heard so much about you. We were about to help your daddy find you!" It wasn't about to rely on that, an illusion spell already building in preparation.

Consuming Spirit - low toughness fiend hunter is a bit of an oof but the flying helps carry it.9/10

Illusions it was then. Had the ghost been watching, it might have seen the weird shimmer as Karina leapt from the bed next to Rose. "Hey, boogerbreath!" Karina yelled. "Why don't you lay off daddy and pick on someone your own size!" she taunted.

dang Rose you scary, but seems safe enough. Would normally call this blue or red, but white's dabbled with it enough in Master Warcraft and Dueling Grounds and such, 10/10

(re: Off Guard - this is only worth ~1 - 1.5 mana but you don't really want it to be a t1 play. Enchantments solve that by adding cantrips to up the mana cost, which also makes the redundant doubles not so bad)

Karina leapt back from the towering beasts, taking a few cautious steps back while they roared. The hat could tell there was something illusory at play, but she couldn't tell if it was dangerous, yet.

"You don't want to eat my bones! They're all crunchy." she said, weaving a spell behind her back.

Ithan's Raid - Not quite sure how to eval this one, is more stoppable than Thatcher, but hits a lot harder for the extra mana. 7/10

Promise of Wonders - kind of an oddball cause its a tutor, which blue normally doesn't get, and a kinda-sorta punisher? Suppose the closest comparision is Fact or Ficiton, which feels like the more blue way to go about the effect. 7/10

I sat over the child, hesitating every time her breaths slowed. She was going to be fine, I reminded myself again. She just needed rest.

Her head moved, and I noticed a blackened... thing stuck to the ribbon on her hat. I pulled it off, and recognized the charmed pin she told me she had been gifted on her first days in the Arena. A protection spell given to her by the old hunter that had left the Arena long ago. It had done its job.

No doubt that stupid robot picked up the 'overly advanced' scent from this. If I saw that bucket of bolts again, it would be for the last time.

The soldier stared at the spear, then Karina, then the spear.  Less confusion and anger than one might expect - just  this blank look of not knowing.  He stood up slowly, and dusted himself off.  “I... I’m not sure I’m qualified to be watch over you right now.” he said slowly, moving to gently pick up the weapon.  

“I’d... stay away from me.  I don’t know if I can control... whatever just happened?” he said, his voice cracking slightly.  He stood silently for another moment, before briskly departing without so much as a goodbye.

Beyond Life: Blue gets cost reducers it’s true, but graveyard care is usually black’s alley- maybe ? 8/10

Truesight: not sure this needs to cost this much, given all it does is repeat etbs and I'm pretty sure this can't even stack? nevermind, didn't notice other uses, still doesn't need to be this expensive 8/10
