"Who I've been sent by is confidential. It is a rare case that I reveal my clients: I usually assume that they wish to remain anonymous. While I would also withhold the reason that I've been hired, I suppose I am uncertain why the client would want it. "Oh!" Neeyo will shout, as the robot seemingly rolls off the table fine and begins to take off. "Quick! Grab the tools and follow!" Ignoring whether or not her small blue companion actually gathers the necessary tools or not, Neeyo follows the robot. Either I find its purpose, its master, or the limits of the battery. No matter the result, its better than sitting around here thinking. (I don't know if the wheels curving means it doesn't have enough power or isn't functioning properly, or if it is simply going in a proper path somewhere.) Wheel Away Sorcery Each player draws 2 cards, then discards 2 cards unless they discard an artifact card or sacrifice an artifact. Overloaded: Niche hate card, yet surprisingly evergreen. 8/10. The drone rolls along, its twisted axles causing it to go in a wide circle rather than the straight line it is attempting. As it gets nearby Neeyo it weakly says "Nulien Emergency Transmission: Prototype zero is still missing. Bring all information to Transition Station Beta." Broken Prototype Artifact Sacrifice Broken Prototype: Scry 1. , Sacrifice Broken Prototype: Draw a card. When Broken Prototype is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, you may pay . If you do, draw a card. wheels curving as in it can't drive straight anymoreand i'll sac this Wheel Away - this just seems worse than Thirst for Knowledge on so many levels outside of like, Nekusar decks. 7/10 Huh. I wonder if "Prototype zero" refers to Zero. She did refer to herself as Experiment Zero when we met. If this little drone is searching for Zero, perhaps it is time to go find her. She may know more anyways. Packing up her tools, Neeyo sets off to find Zero with the drone under her arm, companion trailing behind with a bag full of tools in case of necessary repairs and such. Restore Operation Sorcery Put target artifact card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. If that artifact is not a creature, it becomes a creature with power and toughness each equal to its mana value. Broken Prototype: Seems decent enough. Seems like a lot going on, but not very much on further examination. I do worry about giving colorless "modal" Inspiration with split cost at uncommon. Might affect limited? 8/10.

It moved to slash more aggressively, but Zero was now in motion. Her sword flashed down to sever the drone's arm, but the drone evaded with the same speed.
C A N ' T R U N The hollow arm swings around and fired twice quickly. The first sailed through the empty air where Zero had just stood, the second flying into the path she had just taken to dodge. The force of the explosive tried to throw Zero back, while the worms responding to her steps tried to hold her down, together knocking her off her feet. These creatures of Elsewhere again. Where are they coming from? Zero points her sword toward the worms and the drone, discharging electricity at the pair of them. Experiment Four quickly plants its blade arm into the ground, protecting it from the spark, but anchoring it as well, preventing it from getting any closer just yet. Somewhere in the distance, a bunch of worms reach out in response to the other explosive hitting the ground.
Sorcery Remove all counters from target permanent. Short Circuit deals damage to that permanent's controller equal to the number of counters removed this way. You control that creature as long as ~ is attached to it. Zero pauses as she nears the sword, picking up the magical disturbance of a planeswalker, it was as though Planeswalker[10] was in the distance, but she was nowhere to be seen, and there were no biological readings. Perhaps this was more of her trickery.
She flinches at the new voice in her head. "I said not to do that!" she yells. "Where are you hiding yourself!" Mistaken Identity Instant As long as there are three or more creatures and/or planeswalkers on the battlefield, you may choose this spell's target at random. If you do, it costs less to cast. Mistaken Identity deals 3 damage to target creature or planeswalker. You gain 3 life.
Selem, Bewitching Blade - ulti seems real rough to use cause its a secret -7 on a 5 drop, so its gotta stick for three turns and then survive a combat on 1 for just 4/5 mana effect. the other abilities aren't really worth the cost either, esp since you have to sink two more mana for pretty small effects. 6/10

The drone's blade bites into Zero's leg, but the reinforced skin resists tearing to it.
The-Worm-That-Laughs - hm unsure on this, the snowball's ceiling seems too good for two mana but also kinda slow. also could see the handsize ability causing confusion with giant growths and if you discard before the pump wears off (you do) - 7/10
Where the electricity strikes the worms, they disintegrate into dust. Lettie tries not to growl as she spits out the ashes of her casting materials. Zero is capable of directing galvanism even without her wings. I will only waste materials if I continue this strategy. Lettie directs the worms-that-walk to only form in response to exceptionally strong impacts, such as if Zero were to be thrown prone to the ground again, or if an explosion were to detonate near the surface—at least the danger would be past by the time the worms would be in the open, then. It will take some guessing to get the threshold right, so Zero may have some time before the worms become a hazard to her again. In the meanwhile, Lettie considers her next move. The scavenger is perfectly capable of matching Zero on its own; it has already landed some of its attacks. However, Zero seems mostly unharmed, even superficially. The structural tissues are resistant to physical force, including the skin. The memory of Zero's blackened endoskeleton forces its way into Lettie's mind, and sets her blood alight. It is nothing more than materials; a veneer separate from the self, created only to conceal your true nature—and I will end that deceit. Lettie digs her nails into the earth, and casts a variant of her harvest spell. Where she would normally bond the fibrous root network of the grass together, she instead transmutes and merges them into more formidable roots befitting trees.Zero might sense an odd shift in her readings as swathes of grass die beneath her, before roots trailing black living smoke burst from the ground, and aim to pierce her skin. Lettie is continuing to summon these and direct them at Zero until the situation changes, at an angle where the roots are between her and Zero, all for sake of aiming. If she succeeds in striking Zero, the roots will shred and absorb Zero's skin, regardless of tensile strength (as manipulating that strength is a part of the transmutation).//These roots can burst from any part of the ground, and may be difficult to detect prior to emerging due to the layer of snow. However, also due to the snow, they may be delayed in emerging, and they aren't particularly fast moving once above ground. Lettie has spent 100 valor to unlock Enchantment mastery.Deadly Vice Enchantment Opponents play with their hands revealed. At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, if that player has no land cards in hand, they lose 2 life. Laughing worm's still alive, so the next step is to put down the rack itself. Short Circuit — This seems situational, until you remember that it completely wrecks planeswalkers (Though it does not compare favourably to stuff like Dreadbore or The Elderspell), which are considered the standard of finishers in canon these days. With that in mind, this is an okay response, though it falls flat for not actually entirely solving the problem, just delaying and punishing the approach. 7/10

Mistaken Identity: 10/10 I think this would be a fun card to have in a sacrifice deck where you don't really care about accidentally killing your own things. The voice waits for a beat, then continues: Well, it seems that whoever you've confused me with is not present. I am Selem. I am the blade.Staff of Obfuscation Artifact - Equipment Living Weapon, Ward Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and gains ward . Equip

Staff of Obfuscation - 9/10 Jittering Execution: 9/10. Certain combinations feel too expensive, but the combinations that I see myself using are good (last two; all three) My aims are simple: to be wielded, to slay, and to not be slain. The roots are not particularly fast, and Zero can easily cut them down before they make contact with her, even with her delayed response. The severed sections fall to the ground, where they crumble to ash, and the fumes that once trailed leach into the ground, somewhat faded.
Lettie, meanwhile, is silently fuming at Four's disappearance. That useless scrap! What happened to fixing? She was just standing there! With her temper getting the better of her, and Zero still in the same spot, Lettie starts attacking Zero from the sides, before trying to "pull" the roots behind Zero at a completely blind angle; most of them wouldn't hit Zero if she stayed stock still—most. Once the roots immediately surrounding Zero are exhausted, Lettie has a brief moment of clarity. Atlani mentioned a tendency to teleport short distances. From how it faced the roots, Zero's opponent might be looking for me right now. Lettie considers changing her position, but notes that she'd have to stop channeling her harvest spell to do so. It's just as well; I won't be able to harm Zero unless she's occupied with another opponent. She does seem to have difficulty reacting to these however. Lettie terminates her spell with a final burst of animation, which forces every single transmuted root in the wider area through the surface at a straight angle toward Zero. Of course, most would not be long enough to reach her, and without the spell they would no longer be capable of absorbing anything, but they could still impede her movement and distract her calculations with the residual miasma radiating off them. With Zero hopefully occupied for the next few seconds, Lettie withdraws further into the thicket, moving around trees low to the ground and as stealthily as she can manage in a walking dress, carefully checking her surroundings for Four. Enchantment When Blossoming Bitterness enters the battlefield, target opponent discards a card. Whenever an opponent discards a card, that player loses 1 life and you create a 1/1 Faerie Rogue creature token with flying.
Assuming that All Out Attack had laughing worm as one of its targets, leaving vice up. This is also a lot of potential face damage piling up. For now though, we'll make up our lacking board presence with another discard payoff. All Out Attack — Excellent response in context of these attacks; catches both the Worm-that-Laughs and delays Deadly Vice. The bolt seems reasonably fair on front side; its back side is somewhat more difficult to judge, seeing how efficiently it can wipe, but that it also has a massive opportunity cost in multiples unless you're using treasures. Also hesitant on the goldness of this. 9/10

Without any harvest spell being channeled through them, the roots stand little chance of piercing Zero's reinforced skin, though they may distract or hinder her as they glance away and tangle around her. Directionless, some simply collapse under their own weight once their momentum has faded.Lettie hadn't been paying attention to her surroundings until after she terminated her spell, so she completely misses Four. However, when finding a new position to observe the battle, Lettie notices that Four has rejoined it. It must have been able to see Zero while remaining obscured itself—just as I am. At minimum, it was in the thicket with me. There's a good chance it saw me; I can't remain here for much longer. I just need to strike a decisive blow, and hope that little scrap fulfills its own purpose. Lettie takes up a more aggressive position in the thicket, close enough that she can hurl a vial at Zero the next time she is caught, and, noting Zero's relatively stationary posture throughout the battle, directs the worms-that-walk to all simultaneously form beneath and around her; however, for the time she spends carefully moving, Zero and Four may have had a good deal of time to battle between themselves.
Faerie's Gate Creature — Fungus When Faerie's Gate enters the battlefield, you may destroy target artifact or enchantment.

Still short on fodder, so let's get some of that and re-rail this plan.
Recycler Module — Yeah, that quite handily derails the discard payoff. As for costing, I think this is a little cheap, compared to the usual cost for 4-generic draw, and not counting the value of being able to return an exiled card this way. Otherwise, the design seems fine. 8/10

Lettie arrives to find Zero entangled by roots, worms, and the other machine; it had been doing something with the base of Zero's skull for the past few moments. But at last: Zero is immobile. Lettie pulls out a corrosive vial and prepares to transmute it for a higher pressure. Then, it briefly occurs to her that Zero could be fixed right this moment; that she could return to Spark Labs as the angel that she was once meant to be. No, that's only what her creator and this creature would like her to believe. But the injustice lies in the nature of her creation, and enduring existence. Five sparks are still trapped, and will always stain her life's experience, whether by presence or history; the same is true of her failures, and the failure that she represents for her creator. In truth, she should have never been created at all. This is justice—and it will be rest. Lettie prepares to throw the vial, now close to cracking open from the bank of vapors trapped within. All because no one tried to fix it. I can't let this happen again because I was scared. This is fixing it. Perhaps then, one day, the world can be free from us.What about you?Lettie hurls the vial; it goes slightly wide of the mark, but strikes the ground close enough that the massive corrosive cloud that bursts forth threatens to wash over the machines within seconds and consume them. Lettie is already backpedaling from the scene, watching for results and taking deep breaths.
Lettie has spent 100 valor to unlock Agonize (You may cast this card from your graveyard by putting a -1/-1 counter on a creature you control in addition to paying its other costs. Then exile this card.)
Sorcery Target player discards two cards. Agonize (You may cast this card from your graveyard by putting a -1/-1 counter on a creature you control in addition to paying its other costs. Then exile this card.) "What about you?"
The artifact replacing discards is still gone, since the ETB won't be taken off the stack by burn; this is the last shot at getting the rack plan going, and Lettie will try to use one of the Faeries from Blossoming Bitterness to Agonize this if she can.
Hotfix — This does deny us the creature fodder, and you can discard a card still before the ETB hits your artifact. So, this is an alright response, though either way, you're going to be running short on cards soon. Beyond the context, this seems to compare favorably to distant thunder, which is already playable, and losing 2 life seems to be an easier cost to handle than paying 2 whole mana. Because of that, I'm wary of the development, even if the design is otherwise good. 8/10

The corrosive cloud washes over Experiment[4]. The drone is oblivious to the danger until it begins to work its magic. Very suddenly, it is gone. Then, it appears several feet away, before disappearing again. It crashes into the thicket, tumbling over itself for a moment before vanishing again.
Bit Flip Instant Choose one — • Change the targets of target spell or ability. • Switch target creature's power and toughness until end of turn.
Zero regains her composure and discharges her blade at the worms, before zipping away quickly from the cloud. Much of Zero is protected by her skin, but her exposed arm-socket and braided wires may not fare as well to her short time in the cloud.
shame about that target wordingIt Could Have Been - nooot entirely sure on this one as its 4-for-1, the existing flashback discards are either 1 card or have a whiff chance. def going to make for some unpleasant limited games, even at uncommon. might be the way to get mind rot in constructed tho? 7/10

Four vanishes from Lettie's sight. She holds her breath. All that is left now is to wait. Then, Four crashes into the thicket, though it will not find Lettie where she was before, and Lettie, with one last look at the cloud, Zero's fate unknown to her, planeswalks away, hoping that her aetherprint's trail will fade away before Zero ever thinks to search the thicket. Soon after, the corrosives and Zero's discharge burn the worms and roots alike to ashes; when the snow clears in spring, this entire patch of land will be revealed to be utterly barren.
As the corrosives collect on Zero, any exposed part of the wiring visibly turns green, then blue, before melting or disintegrating entirely. Similarly, any metal plating on the socket will also begin to peel away, depending on how long Zero remains in the cloud. The parts of the wiring that are properly braided may stay more intact, but as the acids threaten to soak through the braiding itself, the change in resistance may, over time, begin to interfere with any signals they pass or power they supply, and any corrosion that is induced will slowly progress over time as current passes through it.
After making several sequential planeswalks to obfuscate her trail, Lettie returns to her work, and waits for her network to report Zero's reappearance. Bit Flip — This is much easier to cast than most redirect spells, and has an additional casting option as well (though that mode is also mismatched considering Invert). The flavour is good, but I'm taking some off for development. 6/10
