Erina Dakren (c9ac64)
Multicolor Level: 1 (1 point) Type Masteries: Artifact, Creature, Sorcery (3 points) CMC: 3 (3 points)
Valor: 0 Score: 0
{Backstory} Eryna was born on the plane of Virskal, in a small city of the "Great Nation" Krithia. The society she grew up in was a meritocracy that valued artifice above all, so she was taught from a very young age how to create magical objects. As she began to climb the societal ladder, she was given a task to investigate a possible discovery of an ancient device built during a time that war left the world in a state of ruin. When she entered the ruins where the site was located, her longtime rival ambushed her. After a brief struggle, Eryna was left gravely injured. Her spark awakened and carried her to the safety of another world called Treskri, where she was found and taken in by a member of a local church for healing. After regaining her strength she set off, travelling the multiverse in search of knowledge and power.

Erina's artifacts begin to float in the air as if an invisible force was juggling them.
Welcome to the Battle Boards! My character is using a new colour. I realise that might be a bit confusing so you don't have to respond.
Astral Juggling (‽)(‽) Instant Whenever a nonland permanent would become tapped this turn, its controller returns it to its owner's hand instead.

Neottolemo (Thanks for the welcome! Teal looks like a really interesting color and just so happens to have most of my favorite mechanics in magic)Astral Juggling: This card feels perfectly costed for it's effect and rarity to me. I give it a 10/10 As the artifacts she had been tinkering with begin floating, Erina watches with amusement for a moment before looking around for the source of this phenomenon.Cautious Assistant Creature - Human Artificer : If ~ would leave the battlefield, exile it instead. Return it to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. 1/1 (Please let me know if there's something wrong with this card, I wasn't too sure what the rules on activated abilities were here)

hexdoesthings "Ah, a fellow artificer. Well, I am only an artificer of sorts, I suppose, but an appreciator of trinkets and charms nonetheless! Perhaps you'd like a demonstration of what magical artifice I have created?" says the old man. "Take this amulet for example - see how it glows?" the amulet he lifted off his neck glows with a red light. "It restores my vigor in a pinch!" he says, giving a smile.Restoration Amulet Artifact When ~ enters the battlefield, you gain 5 life. , , sacrifice ~: Draw three cards.

gurfafflekinsRestoration Amulet: Pretty much what I'd expect from an uncommon 5-drop artifact, super commander playable. I'll give it a 9/10 Looking up from her latest project, Erina meets the man's smile with one of her own and eyes the amulet curiously. "It certainly seems like a lovely piece. Could I bother you to-" The red light of the amulet dies suddenly, and she glances back at the machine she had been tinkering with. "Oh, not this again." She returns to her work on the machine. "It's been causing trouble all day."Unstable Engine Artifact Artifacts entering the battlefield don't cause abilities to trigger.

hexdoesthings Unstable Engine: Weird. Effect is usually just pure white, and I think this would go better on an enchantment or creature (a la Stony Silence and Hushwing Gryff), and not on a colored artifact. Artifact hate on an artifact also feels weird, and is unnecessarily multicolored. 3/10. Nicholai looks at his amulet, concern evident on his face. Did she..? No, it must be the infernal contraption. He placed the amulet back on his neck, and inspects the piece she's working with. Most of his charms and trinkets seem to be alright, but the vigor one may need a... recharge. "Quite alright. What is 'this', if I may? And what exactly did it do to my necklace, here? I may also be of some assistance in fixing it." he asked, glancing over the workings of the engine as it whirred.
(At least, I assume it's whirring) Machine Tinkering Sorcery Create a token copy of target noncreature artifact, then draw a card for each artifact you control that shares a name with it. "Well, it could use a little work I'm sure, but this is magnificent!"

gurfafflekins Machine Tinkering: I feel like this could (and maybe even should) have been printed in a canon set. The effect is fine for the cost, and I like the flavor text both in and out of the context of the battle board. I' giving it a 10/10
(Also yeah I have no idea why I made Unstable Engine red either) "It's a device I intended to harvest energy to provide power for my creations, but instead it's been draining them." She fiddles around with the inner workings of the machine for a moment, then finally just sighs and starts rubbing her temples. "Things like this happen all the time, it's just frustrating. I'll likely have to take it apart to find the problem." She flips a switch and the whirring of the machine begins to die down. Reboot Sorcery Return target artifact to it's owner's hand. Draw a card. "Lets start over, shall we?"

hexdoesthings Reboot: Considering Unsummon, you might be able to put this at and instant. Niche effect. 8/10, just because power levels between sets do fluctuate as well so I could technically see this being printed in Kaladesh 2 maybe. Nicholai looks at it. "My guess is that something is inverted, if it's sponging up energy as opposed to distributing it." He motioned to the artifact. "May I?" he asked, producing a set of tools from his cloak.Artificer's Tools Artifact When ~ enters the battlefield, you may return target artifact you control to your hand. , : Put an artifact card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand onto the battlefield. If it's a creature, it gains haste until end of turn. "Just a quick screw here, and a quick hammer there... Ow! Not THERE, you idiot!"

gurfafflekins(sorry i'm like 12 days late on this, shenanigans ensued with my computers battery so i had to wait a few days on a new one but i forgot you had responded by then) Artificer's Tools: I'm interested in the shenanigans that can ensue from the etb trigger, and I like the ability to dodge counterspells on the second ability but not sure about the haste tbh, I'll give it a 9/10"Hm? Oh, of course." She steps to the side to allow him to take a look at it. "By the way, I don't believe I've properly introduced myself! I'm Erina Dakren, of Virskal."Collaborative Effort Sorcery Choose target artifact you control and target artifact an opponent controls. Exchange control of those artifacts. "I hope you don't mind if I examine yours as well."

hexdoesthings Collaborative Effort: This might be a bit cheap for it's effect, and should probably be (albeit, I would anticipate it would be a 50 cent rare). Still, I super like it. 10/10. Nicholai nods, picking up the machine. Firstly, he turns it off. From his tools he provides the appropriate one and begins to take it apart. "Ah, a pleasure. I am Nicholai, of... it is unimportant." he pauses. " I am an enchanter, artificer, and merchant. After this, I do have a collection of wares you very well might be interested in." he says, inspecting the machine. "Ah ha, it is as I expected - this piece here..." he lets out a small swear as the part shocks him, before he removes it and turns it around. "Is inverted. Now it should work proper." he says, starting to put it back together.Reconstruct Sorcery Sacrifice an artifact you control, then create a token copy of it. "There, done! And all it took was completely disassembling it and putting it back together!"

I like teal as a colour a lot but I wasn't able to make Vern work as a character in this setting so I'll be replacing them with a new one, so, I'll drop the flavour scene, sorry.

gurfafflekinsReconstruct: This card feels really strange. I feel like it should be instant-speed so you can use it in response to artifact removal, but then it would probably need to not be a common. That said, I really like the effect. I'll give it 7/10. "Oh wonderful. May I?" Without waiting for an answer, Erina pushes Nicholai out of the way and turns the machine on. As it whirs to life, she fiddles with a small device beside the engine which promptly lights up. "This looks promising. Thank you, it would have taken me much longer to get this working." She deactivates the second device as she speaks. "I would love to see some of your creations if you don't mind." Mana Engine Artifact Uncommon : Tap or untap target artifact.

hexdoesthings Mana Engine: Alright. 7/10, because it doesn't exactly use my card, but I see the intention. Nicholai is pushed out of the way, and is slightly bewildered for a moment before straightening himself. He just chuckles. "No need to thank me. And yes, I'd love to show them off - most people just like my enchantments. Oh, but I'm afraid I must be going now - I have a trade to do, you know how it is." he says, explaining where his trinket booth is, before saying his goodbyes and departing.

Treachery at the Ruins Conspiracy Hidden agenda Sacrifice an artifact: Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control with the chosen name. Each of those creatures gains haste until end of turn. Activate this ability only once per turn.
