A man has found himself in your area, putting soil into some jars that lightly glow with magic.Dirt Ranger Creature - Human Scout Sacrifice a land: Put a +1/+1 counter on Dirt Ranger. "Light metals, acidic soil... this might be worth it."1/1 Dirt Ranger: 8/10. I guess? I dunno, land sacrifice feels like it should be worth more than that. Atlani looks curiously at the man, before leaving her tent and approaching him. "Collecting dirt? Is the dirt back home not dirty enough?"Heckling Heir Creature - Human Noble Whenever a player sacrifices a permanent, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. 1/3 "I guess that's up to the analysts to decide." Rel capped one of his jars and straightened himself. "Hey, name's Rel. Just grabbing some soil samples for people that know dirt better than me."Heckling Heir seems fine in the vein of Blood Artist but not. 9/10 Soil Investigator Creature - Human Wizard At the beginning of your end step, if a land entered the battlefield this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on Soil Investigator. Then if it has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, sacrifice it. When you do, you may put an artifact card from your hand or graveyard onto the battlefield.

I'm assuming 1/1 ish. I think if you had the option of sacrificing it then it'd be better. If you just happen to not have drawn any of your artifacts yet then this card is really weird. Atlani still looks strangely at Rel, trying to get a read on him. "I am Atlani. Are you the one from the... what did she call it...? Technocracy?"
Utter Misunderstanding
Instant Counter target noncreature spell or activated ability. Mill X cards, where X is its mana value. Well, if I had any idea what you just did, then I guess I'd be impressed.

You may play lands from the top of your library. Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, scry 1.

Industrial Constructor is an interesting mana rock. Kind of remind me of that one card from Mako's Alara. 9/10
Anne nods. "Yep, I'm the only one who's taken a name at this point."
...i'm kind of uncomfortable transforming quickly, but i'm scared i'll be seen if i go too slow...
Take as much time as you need, sis.
After that, Atlani may notice the ant on Anne's hand grow slowly larger.
Two-ero-o Worker Creature - Insect Citizen Flash When ~ enters the battlefield, create a token copy of it. 1/1 Two-ero-o Worker: 6/10. It might not be, but it sounds like an infinite loop. Atlani simply watches as the ant grows, more comfortable than the last time, as both she's expecting it and the transformation is slower now. Halfway through she looks around to check that no one's watching, since the ant seemed worried about it. Quicker Wit Instant Counter target instant spell or target spell with flash. Quicker Wit is better Dispel and I don't know how to feel about it. 8/10 No one else is watching Anne and Atlani. Anne sets down the growing ant from her hand onto a nearby chair, and soon where there was once an ant now sits a familiar girl with burnt-orange hair and black, bug-like eyes.
The girl extends her hand out to Atlani. "Hi! I'm..." she thinks for a second. "I'm Bea. It's nice to meet you."Bea, Fungus Farmer Legendary Planeswalker - Anne R( can be paid with either or by removing a loyalty counter from a white planeswalker you control.)When Bea enters the battlefield, if she was sparked by another Anne planeswalker, search your library for a Plains card, put it in your hand, then shuffle. : You gain 1 life for each Plains you control. : Create two 1/1 white Insect Citizen creature tokens with "This creature has vigilance as long as you control 4 or more Plains."

There is a soft humming in the air as a small, round machine floats past, high overhead. A moment later a second drone, nearly identical to the first, flies in from the same direction. It dips low and darts about aimlessly, seemingly without purpose. The behaviour most resembles that of a fat, ungainly hummingbird. A series of small protrusions on its surface turn back and forth, focusing lenses and taking measurements.
(Hope a render's not considered too distracting.)

Survey Probes: 6/10. uh... pay 5 to scry 1? Based on Gitaxian Probe, knowing what's in an opponent's hand isn't worth that much. I'm thinking reduce the mana value by 2 and then change it to "if it's an instant or sorcery card, draw a card." "More machines?" Atlani mutters to herself. "I wonder if the alchemist will want these, as well."A soft purple light surrounds Atlani's legs as she dashes at near-Olympic speed, trying to catch up to one of the lower-flying drones. Artifice Overloader Creature - Human Artificer Artifact creatures you control have haste. Noncreature artifact spells you cast cost less to cast. 1/3 "But what if it were faster ?"
Renders aren't distracting, you're all good lol.

Artifice Overloader: 7/10. Seems like a reasonably red concept for an artificer (though shouldn't it be overclocker?), but mechanically it's more or less just Goblin Warchief with shifted P/T and not getting haste itself. Add in that at the same mana value or lower, red can be giving all their creatures haste without limiting it to a certain type, and that a cost reduction on noncreature artifacts doesn't feel very thematic to "things go faster" and I'd say that what's left is a perfectly serviceable, but slightly underwhelming card.
As the woman rushes towards the machine, it turns to face her. Lenses focus in and a light blinks red on its chassis. Just before she reaches the probe, it begins to glow an angry shade of orange, heat causing ripples in the air. A static-distorted voice crackles from the drone, "Y-u sh---d --ck." moments before it explodes in a brilliant flash and a shower of disintegrating metal.
As an aside, I personally saw the probes as being conceptually closer to Lifecrafter's Bestiary at a lower rarity.

The first one is either going to be not worth it or some gross combo piece. Atlani continues running towards it as the light flashes red, though jumps away to the side before the machine explodes. "Great." She sifts through the wreckage, trying to find anything more complicated than scrap metal that could be useful to her client, then looks up to see if she can find one of the other probes.
Novice Salvaging Sorcery Choose one:
- Return target artifact card in your graveyard to your hand.
- Create a Treasure token.

Atlani story post time because I finally saved up enough points to buy 3 things at once. {A Lonely Ambition}The cold winter winds of the Arena whipped at Atlani, sending the cloak she wore flying every which way. Having poorly estimated when the storm would arrive, she was far from camp, trudging through knee-high snow.
“Atlani.”
She turned her gaze to the sword at her hip. She noted that snow wasn’t blowing into her face if she was looking down. One respite to be counted in the storm. “Yes, Selem?”
“I believe it is time for a performance review.”
“...how do you mean?”
“We’ve encountered several opponents while we were here. How might you rank their skill in relation to your own?”
She sent her gaze forward again. “Are you referring to Arcanis and the drone? You think them to be stronger than me?”
“I do. Should the fledgling planeswalker have wished to kill you, surely he could have. Teleporting around, undoing his wounds, he was toying with you far easier than I would have expected.”
“I… surely if I were to kill him, it would not be that difficult. We were merely sparring. Toying with one another is part of the game. Besides, an arrow from afar-”
“Any target can be killed with a properly prepared arrow from afar. I did not grace you with my power so that you could kill targets with an arrow from afar.” The words stung as painfully as the wind.
“The drone, then. That was a target that we very nearly destroyed.”
“You lost track of it. And had I not intervened, it would have destroyed you.”
“These are unknown adversaries, Selem. Some amount of risk is to be expected during the learning process, no?”
“Learning may occur over the course of a fight, though if, at the end of that fight, you do not understand your enemy, it will be because you are the one who was slain.”
“I didn’t understand the two enemies I fought, but I still stand, do I not?”
“You do. It will not be long before that changes.”
Atlani sighs as she asks a question she knows the answer to: “Are you insinuating something?”
“I aim to leave. There are clearly stronger wielders here. If they can rival the two of us, then my might combined with theirs would be greater than mine with yours. And that might would see my aims achieved far better than remaining here.”
“I… But Selem, what about-” But he was gone. The scabbard at Atlani’s hip was empty, and she was alone. And the air felt ever colder.
Atlani, now alone, has unlocked the Legendary supertype and the Exalted keyword. Atlani has lost access to and the Planeswalker card type.Selem, now alone, has unlocked the Living Weapon keyword. Selem has lost access to and the Creature card type.

She slid through the snow with the grace of a bobcat, her umbral body carelessly slipping through the vast sea of white. Her hops and jumps met weary ground, leaving the poor girl tumbling into the ground cold and wet. Flicks of writhing shadow wrapped around her skin recoiled at the roaring snowfall, and wide eyes of piercing white narrowed at the sight of the chilling blight. The numbing touch of winter did not bother her; if anything it reminded her of home. Quiet. Peaceful. Dull. Nothing gives a better appreciation for everything the world has to offer than the overwhelming absence of anything at all. Still, it was comforting at times. When everything became too much to bear, a little bit of nothing never hurt. The girl sighed. She knew what her home could really do, how it could transform the meek and wary into terrifying monsters of their own right. She saw it with her very own eyes—Her friend turning more and more into a hideous creature, day by day, all because of that blasted violin slinking its wire-thin strings around her friend’s neck… She felt it again in the distance, that same feeling when her friend dropped below the point of no return. The total despair when she left her friend after she could do no more. She had been following this feeling for a long time, tracking the source one step through the abyss at a time, yet now she could finally see it. Or rather, the woman cloaked in snowfall, oozing that dreadful feeling. Taking a deep breath, the girl let herself fall deep, deep, and deeper still into the snow, until that blinding white sea morphed into a lightless ocean of black. She let the consuming dark nibble her form, eating away at the tips of her shadowy flickering, before willing it to push her upwards. She felt the denseless dark suddenly grow heavy, her own self floating upwards and out of the unknown, until she was finally right in front of the woman she wanted to meet. Had that very woman been watching the shadow girl with blinding white eyes, she would’ve noticed their sudden disappearance. Perhaps she would’ve grown wary and taken up arms. Perhaps she would’ve dismissed it as nothing other than the night playing tricks on her. Or maybe she would’ve reacted in a way completely different. Regardless, she was now face to face with that same bright-eyed girl clothed in shadow. “Hello!”Unexpected Welcome

Instant Draw a card, then each player may put a creature card with mana value 3 onto the battlefield from their hand. A grand display can be the lack of any at all. Unexpected Welcome: 7/10. It's weird that it's exactly 3, but other than that it's cool. As soon as Atlani notices the shadow girl, which would have been just after the shadow girl had found Atlani, she draws a knife from her belt and lets it dance between the fingers of her glove. This is shaping up to be a simply amazing week. Lost the robot, lost Selem, and now even the shadows are hunting me.Atlani tenses as the shadow disappears, and draws a second dagger, trying to throw it at the shadow before it has a chance to hit her, if only she could find it. She turns to find the shadow girl not far from her, and while she keeps her daggers drawn, she loosens her stance a little, recognizing that the girl seems to be not hostile, or at the very least if she wanted to hurt Atlani, she could've done so by now. "Hello. Bit of a stalking type, are we?"Windriver Vigilant Creature - Human Soldier Exalted, Vigilance Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, untap it. 2/2

"How else am I going to reach you? Yell through the roaring snow?"
The girl picked up her foot, leaned backwards, and... plomp! She made a nice seat for herself in the snow and looked up directly into Atlanti's eyes. "You can call me Bernadette! What's your name?" Windriver Vigilant: I like the take this card has on Exalted special triggers, giving pseudo vigilance for the beefy creature you attack with. It seems a little strange giving a creature with an untap effect vigilance, but I think it works well in terms of flavor. 10/10

I like it a lot, but I think it's too useful and too cheap to also have "draw a card" As friendly as Bernadette was trying to appear, the warrior wasn't having any of it. "Simple, really, I came to see how you were doing! Maybe it is a little strange saying from the mouth of a stranger, but there's no harm checking on someone you think's hurt!"Bernadette gleamed, yet glowered just as quickly once she realized she didn't answer Atlanti's first question.
"What am I? I've been asking the same question myself for years... Hmm," Bernadette looked down at her hands, her pondering agitating the flickering shadows covering them. Nothing borne of thought liked it when their existence was questioned, least of all by their own mind. "Easiest answer would be I was someone else, but she fell down long ago and I didn't follow in her footsteps. Now I don't really have something I could attach myself to without it feeling... off. Guess this is what it means to be stuck between worlds, hah..."
The licking shadows grew aggravated, consuming the snow surrounding Bernadette in impenetrable dark. She was lost in thought, and with it her gloom was lost in tulmult. It slowly creeped outward, threatening to devour everything around it, until— "No, that's wrong. I do have one thing I can attach myself to and still be earnest."Without warning the crawling shadows retracted back into Bernadette's form, returning the snow's shining white glow. Not only were there brilliant white eyes looking Atlanti, but a muted face with a nose, lips, and pitch black hair greeted her as well. "I am Bernadette. What of you?"
Abyssal Witness
Creature - Horror When Abyssal Witness enters the battlefield, exile up to one target nonland permanent card from a graveyard. For as long as you control Abyssal Witness, you may cast that card from exile and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast that spell. 2/1 It remembers every lie spoken, from the god's oath to the child's promise.
Push Beyond: This spell doesn't really fit in red's pie. The few counterspells that red actually has are focused more around on causing chaos than keeping a thing you want safe (or just hating on blue because they feel like it). If anything this spell feels much more in white's expertise. 5/10

It remembers every lie spoken, from the god's oath to the child's promise. Abyssal Witness: 9/10. Doesn't have a power/toughness, and maybe it should cost 1 more, depending on the P/T. But it's a fun effect. After the darkness recedes, Atlani sheathes her knives, and takes a seat on a snow-covered stump just close enough that Bernadette can still hear her over the wind, which had begun to die down, though the snow still fell. "I am Atlani. While I am... unaccustomed to random sympathy, I suppose there are worse things." She sighed. "'Hurt' is a not wholly inaccurate way of putting it. It's strange, I suppose: I lost someone quite recently who seems to have moved beyond me. Curious, then, that I meet someone in a similar situation so quickly." A pause, before she spoke again, the voice that was solemn becoming annoyed, angry: "I recently made the decision to visit my homeland again, only to find it conquered, and now I find myself with no way back, but I must go back. I..." She takes a moment, and her voice becomes calm again. "Well, it seems we both have very little left. Heh. A stranger so familiar, made of shadow, met during a snowstorm. Am I sure I didn't hallucinate you?" she feels her forehead in mock concern, following through with the joke. Her tone conveys her resignation: "Well. I appear fine. I take it you are not from this plane?"Ethereal Gravetender Creature - Spirit Cleric Whenever a card leaves a graveyard, you gain 1 life. If that card was a creature card, each opponent loses 1 life. 1/2 They have yet to pass on, but they guide others on the path to the light.

"I have much better things to do than go about as someone else's imaginary friend. Besides..." She gently put a finger into the snow, drawing spirals slowly pointed inward. "I've seen what hallucinations look like, and they are not pretty. At least theirs weren't." She shrugged as she finished her second spiral. "You got that right! I've been hopping around ever since my home plane fell to unrest. Not sure how it's doing now, but it certainly wasn't in too great of a spot when I left. Vosanova was a really nice place back when I was there! "...Before it got burned down by dragonfire, that is." Bernadette looked up to the sky with awe in her eyes. "Huh, I don't believe I've ever seen snow before! I've heard merchants complain about it blocking off roads, but I never knew it could be this pretty," She held up a hand to feel the flakes press against her skin; each and every delicate moment was preserved by her warmthless palm for as long as forever, until she clenched her hand and crushed that moment into finer bits. "I guess I would've experienced it sooner had I stayed there a little longer. Oh well!"She looked back down at Atlanti with an inquisitive look in her eyes. "Hmn. It's been awhile since I've thought about home this much. What about yours? Is there anything you can hold onto after all this time?Farside Functionary Creature - Horror Flash If a card would leave an opponent's graveyard, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. 2/2 "Light? Dark? Hah! So long as the departed cross that boundary, does it really matter how they got there?"Ethereal Gravetender: Ooh, I like the design of this card a lot. I'm always a sucker for interesting graveyard shenanigans and would love to see more desecrated tomb type effects. That said, there is the slight concern of how powerful this could be with Tormod's crypt like effects. Other than that it's wonderful! 9/10 Re: Abyssal Witness: Ah fuck how the hell did I forget p/t, especially when I made a render that included it -_- Ah well, the p/t was meant to be the same as Eternal Witness, which that card was inspired off of. I'm going to fix it simply for my sake so that I don't have to look at that mistake any longer.
