(you can post images of real cards, MSE renders just need to have something different) Just being safe. That flavor bar does look great. I look forward to everything being fully implemented!

I would also like to be added to the beta team. I have a lot of work on other sets, so I'd like to get this tested. (....also, Sagas, if you're interested in beta testing those too cajun)

jrzman The Sagas don't need beta testing, they just need good images. Am working on that as I can. As for the bar beta, instructions for how to get and send data are in that post: If you'd like to lend a hand, download the beta folder here (also, if you haven't already for some reason, the Mainframe game files), unzip it and move the two folders inside to your MSE/data/ folder. Open MSE and you'll find "M15 w/Flavor Bar" near the front of the list, and you'll want to apply that to everything with the "Use for all cards" button. Now you'll want to go through your set and check that the flavor bar is where it should be. If you find a place where it's a bit out of place, type "!fb#" in the card notes then click the card, where # is the number of pixels it's off (use negative for moving up). At this point there should only be a few "!fb1"s and "!fb-1"s. If you find a card where it's really out of place, that means your ft is quite a bit longer or shorter than the code is expecting. For these, start with "!fbu" to correct for that, and then you can add the number if it needs bumped up further. Once that is done, you'll want to export the whole set using the Flavor Bar Data Collection exporter. Message me the text file it gives you, and over the next few days I'll try to pin down where the errors are coming from so they stop showing up for the final template~

While it's not perfect, we've turned this thing I've thought impossible into something that's actually pretty accurate. Before we get to the goods I'd like to thank SirnightNano for the way better flavor bar we are now releasing with, fluffydeathbringer , Vunik , Zeu, and Fenhl for putting up with the beta test and getting some additional correction factors added into the equation, which is clocking in at 74 lines and has about 40% as many characters as a full template. And finally shoutout to CanterburyEgg for keeping me sane during the opening salvo; this probably wouldn't have been done at all without eggo. M15 w/ Flavor BarDownload Link M15 Flavor Bar detects when you have rules and flavor text and automagically places the flavor bar between the two... usually. Unfortunately, MSE was not at all designed to handle this thing, so it will occasionally require some fine tuning. Flavor Bar Offset
While the equation has gotten quite good at predicting where the flavor bar should be, it can still be off by a bit. For those cases, you can go to the style tab and type a number in the Flavor Bar Offset textbox. Typically you will be bumping it up by "1" or "2" or rarely bumping it down by "-1" or "-2" My Flavor Bar Has Gone Rogue!
{Examples} The crux of the detection equation is estimating how many lines of flavor text you have. Sometimes the equation gets it wrong. Luckily, there's a simple fix. Typing "u" in Flavor bar offset will make it go up a line, typing "d" will make it go down a line. (for the beta testers, !fbu in the card notes will still move it up as well.) If it manages to get it super wrong you can double it to "uu" or "dd" to correct for two lines, but I haven't seen that actually needed yet.

I'm honestly amazed at how often the template gets the bar's position spot-on. It's pretty much eliminated the fiddling I had to do using my stop-gap template, so now I can focus on actually making cards. Great job, Cajun

I've been handed a particular blue frame and filled in the blanks, so now I can bring you... M15 Spellbooks Download Link
What's All This Then? This is the frame used by Signature Spellbook: Jace that has been colorshifted to make a complete template. We don't know yet how future Spellbook frames will be handled, so this may be updated or get a sister frame down the line when the next one comes out. It comes equipped with text chopping (which comes up more often than normal), the new flavor bar code (which can be disabled in Style). By default the black frame uses white text because its easier to read (imo), but there is a style switch to make it use the black font as well.
What Do I Do With It? Unzip the folder and move the two folders inside to your MSE/data/ folder and voilà. Make sure you're moving magic-m15-spellbooks and magic-mana-small-spellbook and not just "Spellbooks" or else it won't turn up.

M15 Sagas Download Link It's finally done.
What's All This Then?Despite WotC's best efforts, this is the Dominaria Sagas frame. With this you can fiddle with the ability placements and textboxes, and add in the full size watermarks. The reminder text is automatically added but also editable. Those of you who have used Mainframe Planeswalkers will be familiar with the controls, but here's the crash course. Sagas require a bit of work in the Style tab, so let's head over there and see what's new. Chapter textboxes: This sets the defaults for two, three, or four boxes. The next two options will override this if they conflict. Chapter number coordinates: This controls the placement of the five chapter hexes, and is formatted anywhere from "1," to "1,2,3,4,5," The defaults for two and three boxes are in the description along the bottom. These are going to range from 150 to 400 realistically. If you're putting multiple numbers on an ability, make the second 40px lower (as seen in the 360,400, above.) Chapter divider coordinates: This controls the start/stop points of the chapter textboxes, and is formatted from "1," to "1,2,3,4," with the defaults along the bottom again. These are going to range from 200 to 400ish. Separated text size: This controls the font size across all the chapter textboxes. If you need to change it 10 or 11 is usually your go to. Wider watermarks: This is for the more artistic after the full Saga experience. On normal watermarks, this will allow them to spill over the bookmark, but allows you to use a custom watermark that is the proper size. Included in the style folder is "watermark_mask.png", this is your aspect ratio and also your layer mask. Well What Do I Do With It?
Download and unzip the file and find the three folders inside. Move those three to your MSE/data/ folder. It includes an update to card_fields to help us out with the next problem... How Do I Export This? For those of you exporting Sagas to Cockatrice, Lackey, Planesculptors or w/e, Sagas throw a bit of a wrench in the code. I've worked my magic to make it as smooth as possible though. There is a new field, card.special_text, that is normally blank, but will write out the combined text for Sagas (and possibly walkers in a coming update). Anywhere where you would use card.text, you'll want the following instead. (if card.special_text != "" then card.special_text else card.text) card.special_text retains all the tags from card.text, so whatever you're doing there will be fine. special text: <i-auto>(As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)</i-auto> <kw-A><nospellcheck>Extort</nospellcheck><atom-reminder-expert> <i-auto>(Whenever you cast a spell, you may pay <sym>W/B</sym>. If you do, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain that much life.)</i-auto></atom-reminder-expert></kw-A> I, II — Create a 1/1 black Rogue creature token with <kw-a><nospellcheck>lifelink</nospellcheck></kw-a>. III — Each opponent loses life equal to the number of tokens you control. You gain life equal to the life lost this way.

sbq92 Now this is a strange one. This isn't occurring on the defaults, only when you force update the colors. I have figured out the cause tho, and have updated the download link with the fix, or you can overwrite MSE/data/magic-m15-flavor-bar/style with the updated style file alone.

majin toppa the thread To install, unzip the given folder, install any fonts you don't have, then move the folders into your Magic Set Editor/data folder. Note that the folders should have the format magic-m15-[name].mse-style and similar, you will need to pull them out of any containing files like "M15 Sagas" and move those to data.

cajunAbout my previous problem. It was solved by Downloading the 2.0.1 version of MSE. So thank you. I just want to make sure everything is working as intended. I was using the planeswalker frames the Mainframe one. It turns out I got a couple dozen of error messages from the console tab. The frame is working as intended as far as I can tell, and the error seems pretty minor. It is basically this: {error list} Can't convert "11," from string ("11,") to real number while updating styles for 'level 4 text' Can't convert "11," from string ("11,") to real number while updating styles for 'level 3 text' Can't convert "11," from string ("11,") to real number while updating styles for 'level 2 text' Can't convert "11," from string ("11,") to real number while updating styles for 'level 1 text' Can't convert "11," from string ("11,") to real number while updating styles for 'text'
They seem to repeat, so I stopped copying them. Not sure if this is normal, or a side effect of a script. Just wanted to let you know.

oddnanref I believe you have typed "11," into the font size textbox. This textbox doesn't need commas. You only need them on the list-like options to let the code know where each entry starts and stops.

Loving the Legendary frames!
I'm having some issues with the custom watermarks in Mainframe. I've made my custom watermark, made sure that it's transparent in the places it needs to be, and I gave it a name. Just to make sure that it worked, I put it into the 'cajun' folder. When I try to add my custom watermark, though, it just shows up as blank - the images that were already in the folder work just fine, but mine appears to be completely transparent. Any clue as to what's going on?

Yzjdriel prob gonna need some more info but herewego First close MSE and reopen it just to be sure it wasn't MSE not loading the image. Next make sure your Custom Watermark is written correctly. If it's in my folder your textbox will look like "cajun/watermark-name.png" If that's still not doing anything check your console tab to see if there are any errors. If there aren't and we're still not working, send me the watermark image.

One last thing, not specific to legendary styles but somewhat related to my previous post. Double-faced vehicles don't have the vehicle frame.

ironocy you've stumbled onto a fair few issues, so I'll try to help out with explaining why they all happen. For starters, there is no legendary DFC template yet, probably because we don't know how WotC would handle the legendary nameplate with the symbol at the left of the name at the same time. So for now those cards will have to go without.
The DFC template also doesn't do the vehicle frame automatically, but you can set it using the Style tab in pretty much the same way you set the Legendary template to a vehicle.
And the Legendary vehicle is pretty much a quirk of how MSE layers all the components of the card together... There should be a fix for that, so I'll see if I can take some weight of Cajun by tackling that

ironocy a lot of this has been hit by SirnightNano but just to confirm The Legendary Vehicle was a quick solution to have it available before the next update to the mainframe series. It'll be enabled by the different system it uses. I'll probably add in Nano's tweak there to allow it on normal Legendary as well. There isn't a public Legendary DFC yet but it is being added to Mainframe DFC soon. I've tweaked the interior of the crown some to work with the existing dfc node. This image is still rough around the edges, but I'm fixing it up every day.

I love the saga template; thank you for putting it together so soon after the set release!
I am curious--I have a slightly different use case and I wonder if it would be easy enough to add to the saga template (or split off as a separate template). Basically, I'd like to have the side-by-side art and text box like the sagas have, but I don't need chapters or multiple text boxes on the left pane. Just one big text area, ideally without even the ribbon along the left that the chapter icons go on. Would it be possible to add a setting for that? Or, if that's a bit too extensive of a change, perhaps a mode that keeps the ribbon and the split between the reminder text and rules text areas, but which can be set to only have one text area next to the ribbon and some way to hide the chapter icons.
I basically have a text-heavy variant format I've been creating cards for, and the spacing (and portrait orientation of the art) would work much better for it than the templates I was using before, but it doesn't need the Saga-specific chapter concept.
If this isn't something you care to create, I understand--it would just be really fantastic for what I'm working on and I have no experience whatsoever with MSE's internals to do such a thing myself. Thanks for your consideration and all you've done for creating modern templates. MSE was in a pretty poor state for a while there, and I'm thrilled to come back to it a few years later to find that almost all of the templates I could want to have are available and that and a new main download has been createdwhich includes almost all of them, rather than needing to find them scattered all over forums.

toshi: removing the bookmark would mean rebuilding the frame images but the rest is already possible with the right series of adjustments: Mahx Michael Spellbook is the frame used for Signature Spellbook Jace. They only had blue frames for it so I've done some colorshifting to allow for the whole frame. Sagas and some other stuff will be on the front page soon.
