Soil Rotation: 9/10. Yeah, Restore can have flashback. The name makes me think it's a play on Crop Rotation, though. True to Arandu's prediction, Tokata did not recognize the tool, but figured it was for poking the ground in some form or another. Tokata and Imad both followed as gestured, and bowed their heads upon realizing that a prayer was taking place. "A lot more people? Huh. On Ipharad us sages go around in small groups. That's cool, though, I'd never thought to make a party of it. And yeah, I think with all that happens here, planting some crops is one of the least egregious things you could do."Tokata accepts the flask, lifts up her mask, and takes a sip, expecting something vaguely bitter, and so does not seem surprised by the taste. She lowers the mask as she returns the flask, then both return to the garden. The mask nods, and the cloud moves forward to engulf the tool. While little of the handle remains visible, a glint of the head can be seen as it escapes the cloud only to be driven into the dirt. With a similar rotation and extraction of the tool, the cloud moves away, revealing a small portion of ploughed ground, similar to Arandu's. "I guess that's a 'yes'." Rites of Growth Enchantment Whenever you cast a spell from your graveyard, or a land enters the battlefield from your graveyard, if you control no creatures, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. Otherwise, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. Arandu allows himself a smile, turning to Tokata. "Well, we'll get to work then. I should have an estimate for you of when to expect your payment, but you're free to return at any time. I'll return with Imad to you once we've finished here." He returns to the spirit, and began instructing him further. " Now, this is technically nonstandard, but we're going to be plowing in a circular pattern. So in order to do that..." Arandu began explaining in earnest, leaving Tokata to do as she willed until they were done. Rites of Growth: Cute. 8/10. I like niche uncommon enchantments, this one is specific enough I think it's hinting at a very cool deck strategy.

It was true, he abhorred violence, but that did not make him opposed to its use.
...
...far different than what the knight would have seen of the man during the war for the sword.
The Knight laughs at Arandu's furrowed brow. "Very good." Though an invader could not be called an equal of the realm's champion, Syr Lothaire would not stoop low as to remain atop their steed against such an opponent. With a wave of a hand, Lothaire passes the reins to one of the knights accompanying them, while another steadies the saddle of their mount as they vault from the saddle—the circular glow of their armor upon the snow deepens as their boots strike the ground.
"We shall settle our claims to this land by single combat. We shall fight to the death or surrender, whichever is first—and here, the expectation is that one yields expecting mercy."
They step forward, and with flashes of light, conjure a backsword into one hand, shining as though pulled from a forge, and into the off-hand, a matching dagger held in reverse grip.
"We shall wield weapons of our choice—there will be no pretension that this is an affair fought on equal grounds. I shall use what power I see fit, and you may attempt to do the same."
Though it had been morning, the sun now aligns itself at high noon, to the side of the combatants, bathing the clouds beneath it crimson.
"I am Lothaire, champion of the Radiant Order, and hence Sanaerti. Should I prevail, your artifice will be removed from this Arena by the roots, never to be planted again."
Syr Lothaire pulls themselves into a readied stance that may seem familiar to those who had encountered Xaja or any other wielder of Selem. Though they are separated from Arandu by paces, one of their eyes shines red through their helm's visor.
"Now then... state your name and terms." Red Sun Enchantment Lands you control are Mountains in addition to their other types. : Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn. Lothaire is calling on the honor that they demonstrated during the War of the Sword, and conjuring Xaja, Stoneblade Eternal. Boon Carrier — Break even at the first attachment, with potential for more. A straightforward payoff, though I would sooner put it at uncommon at most than at rare. 8/10
Arandu blinked, then squinted at the repositioned sun, hearing the knight's annunciation of himself, but only in the background as Arandu pondered the phenomenon in front of him. When he had originally witnessed the knight Lothaire, he hadn't noticed anything on the scale of power currently being displayed. Or had he simply not seen it? Curiously even, the knight had gone so far as to declare this place the, no, they had just corrected him, an Arena, but who would claim their own world was such a place? Was it a quirk of the inherent translation of its language? Or was it something specific?
A stray thought occurred, returning Arandu to memories of his home plane. Not of his friends and family living in the countryside, but of those faces he knew from within the Empire. Towering cities of light of technology that were the bastions of the Intisuyu. Practically, as they were powered by the brilliance of the sun, it made sense that such places were awe inspiring as the source of its power reached the highest point in the sky. And yet, subtly, Arandu knew there was another reason they shone so much.
It was ideal to remind your citizens who, and why, their rulers were in charge.
Arandu returned his gaze to Lothaire, his face changing from a determined furrow to a tinge of anger, possibly the first he had expressed yet on this world. Arandu stared at Lothaire for a long moment, before he spoke in turn. "I am Arandu, member of the New Way and son of Pacha Marka. Should I prevail, you will no longer interfere with the presence of others on this world. Should they choose to embrace your vision, they may follow your lead, but never, by any means, shall you force any of this world to follow your ideals. They are free to choose their own way, and not just yours."As did Lothaire, Arandu readies himself, one hand within his cloak, familiar to Lothaire if they had seen Arandu utilize his capsules before, and the other defensively holding his mace. Horizon Command Instant — Choose two — • Counter target noncreature spell. • Target nonland permanent loses all abilities until end of turn. • Target player creates two tapped Canister tokens. • Return target card from your graveyard to your hand. - Countering Red Sun, Making Xaja lose their abilities for a turn. Red Sun: Oh this is fun, 10/10. The combat math on this Firebreathing can get messy, but I think it's cool enough to be allowed.

"Usually there's a lot more people, and you have people more qualified to ask for permission, but I think this land is forgiving enough that I'll do."
"To those who cradle this world: we ask to be permitted to join your cycle, and bring new life to your body. We venture from worlds far from your own, and wish only to take part in the gift of nature, that all worlds are blessed with. We wish to stand with you, as the roots of our worlds mingle, and care with you, for the gifts we have grown, and start again with you, when all returns to the beginning." "Then let us begin." Noting the defensive stance and the capsules, Lothaire goes on the offensive. They lunge into a run, sweeping their backsword through the snow to send a wave of powder to wash over Arandu. For the instant that Arandu might be blinded, Lothaire dashes to his side, the glow of their armor glinting across the snow, before pivoting to drive the sword into Arandu's back, and using the momentum to bring their parrying dagger into a block if Arandu survives and manages a physical riposte.
Whether Arandu is struck or not, an eye glares at him through the helm with contempt. "The world I cradle does not forgive you. Does a soaring eagle need your roots?" Lothaire is conjuring Protective Intervention and using it to counter Horizon Command. Horizon Command — There's a lot of lopsidedness on these modes, with the regrowth mode as the best in most cases, and making this an easy 2-for-1 counter in some matchups that can also loop itself with additional effects. Otherwise a good response. 7/10
