cyberchronometer Factory-Citadel Core: This looks really easy to break in the right shell, and in a way that ensures you either win or lose on the spot. Not a fan of how all-or-nothing it is. 6/10.The girl considers Nadejda's question from the other end of the hall. "In a sense. Parasign — Assembly Line: Well, that proves your point nicely about it being too easily breakable. And besides, it's a neat engine piece for limited. 9/10"I come from a world called Zimask. The land is covered with snow and ice, everywhere, always. Great monsters stalk the wilds, some hundreds of meters high. My people live in a few vast cities, protected by marvels of technology. We build, we fight, and we dream of a better future. Or rather, we did, two centuries ago. I've come here from the past, and have no idea what my home looks like today—and to be honest, I'd rather not know. But my home's far away and long ago—tell me about your city!"Yarovoye City Grid Artifact Noncreature artifacts you control have " : Create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token."

cyberchronometer Yarovoye City Grid: Creating a 1/1 token every turn is worth at least 3 mana on its own. Turning all your Clues and Treasure tokens into token makers too seems overpowered. Assemble the Legion wishes it could be this card. It is a cool design, though, so I'm giving it 8/10."Well, I suspect the ship already told you all the interesting bits, but in case you missed it you're in the City of Saints. The Capital-Cradle of AKHATAR, in case my palace didn't make it obvious enough. It is said the first records of Old Akhite civilization were found within half a mile of this very throne." The girl smiles conspiratorially. "That's not true, by the way. It doesn't account for vertical distance. But it's close."
"In any case, division into 'cities' is largely a formality, as location matters little to an empire like ours. This whole plane and all its denizens are connected by their shared nationality and culture, by the Frame, and by the precepts of Sanity and Necessity. Still," she sighs. "I do sometimes wish I could leave for a wild and foreign plane like yours."
"I too am a planeswalker, you know, but my duty is here. So please, while I have the chance, I would love to hear of your journeys on other planes."

WindyDelcarlo cajun blueseclipse @cyanogynist Augmented Reality: I’m not sure I like how huge the type-based cost swing is here. Not sure why, since I love Gravitational Shift, but it just feels kind of awkward in this case. The last ability is cool but feels like it belongs on a different card. There’s a lot of potential here; I just think the execution is a bit off. 7/10.Karina of Sunspear: I like how this both synergizes with planeswalkers and counters them, and the fact that the reward is aggressive since most planeswalkers naturally push toward a defensive playstyle. It does seem weird that this Karina is red when both she and the Sunspear use white mana, though, and I don’t think she quite feels mythic with this cost and stats. 9/10.Bant Ascendancy: The bird tokens feel like they should be mono-white, and the first ability is a bit weird in general since Bant generally wanted a lot of creatures; it just didn’t want to attack with more than one of them. Other than those fairly minor issues, it seems like a fun start to an Alarascendancy cycle. 8/10.Sword of All and Nothing: Speaking of ways to continue cycles, this is a really clever concept. The wish effect might a bit too strong, but I love it. 10/10.VI, Endless: What is this nonsense? You can’t attack your own board, you moron, you absolute fool. 0/10.The girl stops rising a few feet above the table, and her light begins to dim.
"I…."
She stops, takes a single ragged breath, and continues to lie there unmoving.{Response Card: Paralyzing Insight} The bisected porcelain giantess calmly looks over the others standing before her, as though noticing their existence for the first time.
"Ah. Forgive me. I’d almost forgotten my guests." She nods to them. "Most of you knew me as VIA. But I was, and will be, VI of the First Risen."
VI turns first to Sara and Seiva, still aiming their weapons at her. "I’m not attacking VIA, children of Volaria. She’s merely remembering that she was always me. And…” She gives a faint smile. “…I don’t think she’d appreciate you shooting up our mind."
She glances next to the angel. "I’m not here to fight you, spawn of the First Builder. Nor do I wish to end your blissful ignorance. Go now, and I shall not teach you how far your kind has fallen."
Third, she looks upon Karina. "No wonder this timeline has been so difficult to perceive. It’s been so long since I’ve met a fellow spark of Memory, ‘Kirino’. I wish you well, and I dearly hope you one day recall your True Name, so you may join me in my work."
Lastly, she turns to the Phyrexian. "As for you. You’re right, of course: it is to my contemporaries’ credit that you have so little evidence the Anathema-force exists. A shame it’s so like your oil: its mere presence can doom an entire plane."
"So." VI addresses all those assembled before her. "You will have to settle for this memory."
The world and all its inhabitants melt away.
{Forbiddance}Even from orbit, the spires of Bablovia are an impressive sight. The First Catalyst designed it to be a place of unrestrained creativity, where anyone could live out their wildest fantasies. But the First Catalyst had not been seen in two hundred million years, and without Their influence it had become apparent just how dangerous creativity was, in the hands of the Anathema.
She hurls herself from the dropship and impacts the ground, leaving a crater half a mile wide. She can hear the immaculate voice of VI guiding her every step, instilling her with purpose. Cresting the horizon, she sees her target: a vast and horrible machine, built to bring chaos and destruction to the Multiverse.
It looks oddly like a lamp.
A Herevite soldier rushes toward her, dressed in riotously colored nanofiber cloth and his corrupted empire’s bizarre war paint: faces caked in white, splashes of red around the mouth and nose, black crosses over the eyes. He’s completely unarmed. She fires several times at her foe, but despite her top-notch precognitive targeting systems, every shot goes wide.
How are the Anathema so infuriatingly lucky?
The soldier stares her dead in the eyes, through her eyes, as though talking to someone else unfathomably far behind them.
“Listen! Don’t make them attack the giant, go for the—"
She finally vaporizes the Herevite with one blast of her cannon. Rule one of dealing with the Anathema: never let them speak, no matter how much like inconsequential gibberish it may seem.
She rockets toward the machine at impossible speed. It’s been made impervious to orbital bombardment, but an attack from ground level….
A blinding silver light splits the sky, and the earth cracks open. She can feel something growing in the center of the planet, watching her, reaching out across all time and space….
It’s too late, she thinks. Bablovia is lost to us. Forgive me, VI.
A split second later, Bablovia never existed at all.
The memory dissipates."Now you know what awaits, if I fail in my work." VI looks again at the crowd. "If I cannot restore the utopia of the past, and instead allow the forces of chaos to destroy the future. Keep that in mind before you do something you might regret. Because if you don’t…."{You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?} VI waves her hand. The shimmering light on the floor turns to black sludge, then dissipates like smoke. Karina’s spear dims, and every pistol and sword wielded against the titan turns to slag. The girl floating above the table struggles against invisible bonds, then begins to rise again, glowing ever brighter.Guest System Attack
"It would be a mercy to spare you from having to witness the consequences."Anyone can aid VI’s attack or defend on VIA’s behalf. At around this time tomorrow (maybe sooner!) When the gods will it, VIA will respond.

Parasign — Unity Matrix: A strange anthem, one far more usable on the defense than the offense. Fine? 8/10"I'm afraid I only just became a planeswalker; this 'Arena' where your empire lies is only my third plane. My home of Zimask, and from there, the Spindle. An artificial plane, built by one of the most powerful planeswalkers around to power a massive time machine. The Horizon Gate, it's called. Step through, and you're two centuries into the future and hurled into the Blind Eternities—so only planeswalkers can survive it, naturally. It's busy, cosmopolitan, built on the foundations of four nearby planes, close enough that anyone can cross over from them with enough effort and some luck. Zimask... an ever-shifting jungle-plane called Tocaiba, where mana surges unpredictably... Menteumenil, a low-tech kingdom filled with backstabbing nobles and watchful angels... and the Wasteland, a haunted desert filled with ancient ruins. Haven't been to those last three myself, but I met plenty of folks from there on the Spindle. And from there... I stepped through the Gate, and into the future. I'm here looking for a weapon, maybe. Something I can take back to my home, in the past, for one last hunt. Something that'll let us fight the beasts and win for good, so my people don't have to fight anymore."Opening the Gate Artifact — Project , : Put a progress counter on Opening the Gate. // As VI nears the end of her speech, a disarrayed stack of canisters of aether materialize around Sara. Because she needs aether, and Seiva contacted Entela for it. As VI makes at attempt to disable the objects in the area, a bright flash of sky-blue magic fills the room, attempting to push against the disabling spell. A few select things are unharmed. Leira's pistol is disabled, decays into slag as it's supposed to, and releases aether into the air. Sara's dissociates. Sara's eyes flash the blue of the spell she cast.
Controlled Aether Instant For each nonland permanent type, exile up to one target permanent of that type. If you controlled a blue legendary creature or planeswalker as you cast Controlled Aether, return them to the battlefield under your control at the beginning of the next end step. Otherwise, return them to the battlefield under their owners' control at the beginning of the next end step.
(Targeting Augmented Reality, Karina of Sunspear, Sword of All and Nothing, and the implied planeswalker representing VIA.)
// Sara's voice is audible in each being's head as though her words were thoughts they were having already.
The name Kirino has come up before. As that of a destroyer of worlds. A threat to the multiverse. If you are truly her ally, logic stands that you are a similar threat, and I will ask you to stand down calmly.
Young Empress VIA, I need you to focus on the truth of these statements. It they are true or not, I need to know before this continues.

"Spawn of the First Builder? What? I'm from Kaladesh, excuse me." The pile of slag floats over my hands, as I stare at them, thinking the situation over. Aw man, that was a perfectly good sword. Granted, I can just teleport up a new one, but still. Finally, I look up, towards the bisected porcelain lady. "Yeaaaaaah, I don't know what's happening here."
The small magic lady- at least, one of them, begins talking telepathically. "Ow ow ow! I hear you, I hear you!" I listen in closely. "Wait. Okay. Oh. Kirino doesn't sound like a good thing." I look again at the big lady. "I have come to a conclusion: that I still have no idea what's going on."

Paralyzing Insight is a nice card, but feels like it should cost more to me. 9/10 Planar Forbiddance can be a total board wipe in ... reset the game, but with opponents likely having far fewer cards in hand, and you having a significant boost in life? I'd say this is way too powerful. It probably should only hit one card type, or maybe hit nonland stuff... 6/10I listen as this entity... VI... speaks. She claims that VIA was, and is, her - an obvious fallacy, as the two are clearly separate. And then... the memory. I remain silent as the memory progresses around us, taking note of all that occurs within it. I watch as VI guides a figure to assault a plane and destroy it, with the claim that the presence of this Anathema is sufficient justification to do so. And I watch as VI gestures, destroying several of the weapons - though my own simply seems to disperse into aether, rather than simply melting, and I take note of the blue gleam in the eyes of the Volarian - Sara, she was called - as it does. And I hear Sara's voice echo through our minds as she reaches out to VIA. Finally, I speak. "You have shown us that you are willing to annihilate entire worlds... solely to eliminate something that you disagree with. You perhaps should have chosen a more worthy example to indicate just how vital this is, VI of the First Risen, if you wished to persuade us. I asked for proof that this was a threat, and that there was no other alternative but this plan of torment and pain, and you offer instead a veiled threat in a show of your power, and at best a demonstration that - if this Anathema is truly such a threat - you have been categorically unable to defeat it using your own methods."
"You claim that this entity has brought about cataclysms seven times already, and that should three more occur, then all is lost. If this is true, then why has this not been made known to others before now? I have spend nearly my entire life involving myself in battles that those fighting could not win on their own. And I have seen adversaries call for aid themselves when they found they could not defeat me on their own - and those were far smaller conflicts. If what is at stake is the continued existence of the multiverse as a whole, prudence would dictate that you would gather every ally possible, from every world possible, to ensure the defeat of such a threat, given that your own power has proven insufficient."
"I ask you one final time, VI of the First Risen. Provide your proof that you are more than a conqueror who seeks to crush that which she does not understand. Provide your proof that what you deem Anathema is truly such a threat to all. If you do so, then we can discuss what is to be done about such a threat. If you do not..." One arm reaches back and draws my glaive, a second arm clutching it in a ready position. A third draws my boltcaster from beneath my cloak, aiming it at VI, while a fourth draws another short blade. I shift my stance, prepared to spring forward should the response not be acceptable, and conclude my statement, "then we will simply be left to deal with the threat that you have already demonstrated yourself as."
Echoes of Defeat Instant Until end of turn, whenever a spell or ability an opponent controls causes a permanent your team controls to leave the battlefield, you may destroy a permanent that opponent controls that shares a type with it.

Parasign — Data Repository: A very efficient draw engine for limited, if you've a way around the drawback (sac outlet for artifacts, say). Probably not too efficient. 9/10"Knowledge is exactly what I'd want. Honestly, if you gave me a weapon, I'd probably try to take it apart to figure out how it worked. As for the Gate, I'm afraid I haven't a clue how it works—it's as much magic as technology, and the infrastructure that supports it forms an entire plane. Only the Architect—that's the planeswalker who designed it—knows how all the pieces go together, and if you wanted to ask them you'd have to go back through the Gate yourself. Which you could, if you were able to take the time away from your empire. The Architect doesn't really talk to people, but I bet they'd make an exception for someone like you."Archivist Engine Artifact — Vehicle When Archivist Engine enters the battlefield, exile the top five cards of your library. Fleur The Warlord's Deception: I like how the first ability combos with the other two. I'm less a fan of how the second ability doesn't leave your opponent any creatures to block with (and they'll probably want to block your alpha strike with any walls or summoning-sick creatures they play that turn anyway), making the third ability kind of redundant. But I enjoy Sagas and combat-forcing cards, so this combines enough stuff I like that I'll still give it a 9/10.You're a bound spirit too, then? I suppose I can sympathize.VIA cautiously turns to the next page.Reader's Curiosity Sorcery After this phase, there's an additional upkeep step. Draw a card. "Ooh! What happened next?" The book provides a few guidelines.
1) Magical seals generally come in four parts. a. The power seal: This generally serves to suppress the mobility of the host. Power seals generally decay over time. b. The second seal: This generally serves to suppress the psyche of the host. Second seals are among the hardest to crack, but powerful anti-magic or disenchantment, such as a vindication spell or a nullification spell, can bypass a second seal. c. The middle seal: This generally serves to severely restrict the physical form of the host. Middle seals decay over time, but over a much longer period of time than power seals. Disenchantment spells can speed up the breakdown but again, the best way to break any of these seals is through a nullification spell. One such spell is NO MORE LIES, an extremely powerful truth field. A middle seal can be partially broken, granting the host partial strength. d. The innermost seal: This generally serves to suppress the remaining aspects of the host. Depending on the host, the host may or may not be able to break out of this seal by themselves. Otherwise, this seal is very difficult to break from the outside. 2) Trying to free a bound spirit can be difficult and potentially dangerous. However, it is important to remember that to free a bound spirit is to serve the higher cause of freedom. Freedom for all species and beings, whether they be large or small, strong or weak, mighty or meek. 3) Remember, the guidelines above are merely guidelines. Some seals may require say, blood sacrifices. In these cases, it may be better to leave such a spirit bound until a nonviolent solution can be found. The words appear almost spontaneously, and they continue for some time. The Middle Seal Enchantment When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, search your library for a card and exile it, then shuffle your library., Discard a card: Put the exiled card in your hand., Sacrifice three creatures, Discard three cards: You may cast the exiled card without paying its mana cost. Binding Matrix: Neat hate with another use. I'm a fan. 9/10. The rest of the book is unremarkable. A lot of it has to do with the necessity of either white or colorless mana to cast disenchantment spells, and a few locations where you could learn how to use white or colorless mana. There's a temple on Tarkir, another temple on Tarkir with the words "ALTERNATE TIMELINE" scribbled on it, and a few more locations that are extremely obscure and probably not well known. There's also Mikaeus' temple, but with the addendum "MAY REQUIRE TIME TRAVEL" after it. And that's about where the book finishes. Parasign Rudara, to VIA's memory, had always been a dominating presence. She was larger than life, imposing, capable and willing to exert her influence when needed. If there was anything about Rudara, is that even her quietest plans had the weight of force behind them. Yet now, inexplicably, Rudara's voice was hardly a whisper, words sneaking into her conscious from across a distance that was impossible to tell. WindyDelcarlo cajun blueseclipse @cyanogynist Popcornia Controlled Aether: The difference between casting this with and without a blue legend is pretty huge, but legendary sorceries got printed so I guess it’s fine. I don’t think this is overpowered unless it’s in a standard or limited format with lots of cheap-ish legends, and the effect is really exciting in general. 9/10.Seal of Gravity: I like the idea of choose-one seals, though I don’t think the activation needs to be sorcery speed. 9/10.Vacate: I’m not convinced phasing is red, even as an attack trigger. Inscribe is cool, though. 8/10.Echoes of Defeat: This seems significantly worse than Karmic Justice, but Karmic Justice is really strong so maybe it’s fine. Absolutely does not feel mythic. 7/10.No Mind But Your Own to Lose: My first impression is this is a bit too strong, but against 3-5 opponents it’s probably fine. If I’d shown the actions they took to bring about each Ending, you’d say it was a coincidence. If I’d shown all the horrific war crimes they committed, you wouldn’t have the context to fathom the depth of their sin. They simply don’t act on any scale you can hope to understand."
"And trust me, I would have loved to gather my allies, if they weren’t all gone. Even I was dead until very recently. They’ve been waiting in the marrow behind the Eternities, biding their time as they watched us decay. Few alive still remember them. That’s why my work is of such prime importance: not because there are many who would help me, but because there are so few."
"But I suppose there’s no more point in speaking with you. I can see you’ve made up your mind. {AZILUM}Sara, Seiva, and Leira find themselves back in an Augmentation chamber on Entela. You know, it’s rude to try and hijack someone else’s mind like that. VI’s voice sounds in Sara’s head. But I’m willing to accommodate. This is what you were going for, correct?
And no, she continues, I am no ally of any ‘Kirino’. I was once, perhaps, the ally of the person she used to be, and might be again. Nor am I a threat to the Multiverse. I am trying to end that threat.
Beneath that voice, VIA’s is just barely audible. I… she… think we’re telling the truth. Everything she’s… I’m… saying, it fits. I can’t… tell you whether it’s all real or… if I’m lying to myself, on a cosmic scale. But I know this much: there is a… force out there, and it’s dangerous, and she’ll do anything to end it and save her civilization eons after the fact. And I can’t blame us for taking that path. But I’m still lost, and… afraid… and I don’t know if it’s worth it. I don’t know if I should just give in and join myself, or… face the consequences of not doing that. And I just… don’t know who to trust, or… who to ask.
VI speaks again. That part of me is confused. I understand. She’s gone through a lot.
The walls of the augmentation chamber are now covered in bloodshot eyes, watching Sara judgmentally.

The closest wall must be thousands of miles away, and each end stretches off into the distance until he could never hope to make it out. But still, there are sprawling geometric clusters of alien buildings everywhere he looks, grand enough that even at this distance they seem overwhelming in size and scope. VI is nowhere to be found, but floating before him is a ten-winged angel the size of a small moon, made entirely of what appears to be stained glass. It speaks in VI’s voice.
"Yes, child. I know of Kaladesh: as meager a reflection of the First Builder’s work as you are of Their servants. Your kind once maintained the very foundations of reality. Now, even those few who still recall their purpose are far too weak to salvage the Multiverse from its diminished state."
The massive angel pauses, as if considering.
"But perhaps you can still play a part. If you help me, child, you can be the first of my celestial heralds. I can return a portion of your rightful power the Anathema have denied you. All you need to do…"
Vox’s sword reappears in his hand. The vertiginous vision around him fades, and he stands on barren earth beneath the sun of the Arena. He sees a girl huddled on the ground near him, eyes glazed over, clutching a glowing spear. A thin stream of clear water trickles beside her.
"…is liberate the soul of one Karina Oblay."
VI calls for aid for an Angelic Arbiter! It only exists relative to VI and Vox; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out.
Rudara{VRTHIL}The girl has left her hospital bed far behind. She now floats in the Blind Eternities, VI towering above and around her. Yet even here, the voice of Rudara drifts though.
Rudara? Is that… you? I’m… sorry I rejected your blessing. She… I… we say I should have trusted you.
Yes, Rudara. You have incredible power but lost your knowledge. We have unfathomable knowledge but lost our power. Don’t you want to know who you really are, where you really came from? I can tell you that. And in return, you can help me drive out the Anathema who seek to bring disorder to your world.
Just think of all we could accomplish together.
VI calls for aid for a Knowledge Pool! It only exists relative to VI and Rudara; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out.
Karina{ECTRON} Karina watches as the others vanish. No one remains but her. Yet she can still hear the voice of VIA in her mind."Yes, Karina. I can hear you." The voice seems hoarse and strained, almost like that of the floating girl. Or maybe VI can. I don’t know who I am anymore. She pauses. "It all makes sense now: everything about my life on AKHATAR I found strange, every coincidence that’s happened since I came here. But I’m still just as confused as you are. And I think… knowing how all my experiences were orchestrated by some ancient nigh-omniscient force, which may or may not be also me… I simply have no way to view this objectively.""So, let me ask you now, Karina. I think you understand how I feel better than anyone else here. What do you think I should do?"{Catalyst not found} (Yes, this is a response to Planar Forbiddance. VIA still hasn’t responded to Separation yet.) Anyone can aid VI’s attack or defend on VIA’s behalf. When she sees a path forward, VIA will respond.

Parasign ...Rudara spent 4 skill points! +3 Multicolor! +1 Type Mastery: Planeswalker!
Rudara looked across the gap between them, peering into the space VI and VIA had cut into reality. She squinted at the pair, not out of confusion, but of determination. If VI could sense Rudara's emotions, there were none save one. Determination. "I will do no thing that I cannot do myself. If I cannot shape my future on my own, then I shall be doomed to never craft the world I seek."
Calling for Aid. Opt, casting after the following in order to cast it for free. {Response Card - Rudara, Who Masters All} "Leave her, goddess that you claim to be. Allow the form you wish to steal to craft her own future." Separation: Interesting, I like that the niche secondary effect is supplemented by a useful top effect. 9/10

Gear NO.7(VIA's somewhat indisposed right now, but VI will be happy to defend for her) Flying Lap (Leap?): Seems a bit weak (compare Leap or Slip Through Space, both of which are almost as effective but much cheaper) and a bit off color in blue (since blue can untap stuff but doesn't actually get vigilance). 7/10.VI's gaze passes over the thopter entering her mind's domain."Another visitor from Kaladesh, I see. Sara looks at her for a moment, and nods."This is your job," Master Sara whispers."Empress VIA... there are more civilizations that hope to disable interplanar threats. The Seventh Circle Initiative and EPIC are both present on the Arena right now. You could ask for help. But you don't need to destroy worlds to do it. Destroying worlds is counterproductive, isn't it, if the goal is to protect worlds? If you stop killing worlds, we can do what we can to help you, and the Seventh Circle will definitely do the same if shown a threat."

(All in all this guy's an engineer so Lap was the correct word.) Whispering Blindness - Decent design, but the tap is a massive drawback for me. 6/10 "OK then. may as well save Aether and leave. This is clearly not what I should do right now according to whateever killed my thopter."

I like how its power scales as the game goes on, and I’m just a sucker for Mindslaver effects in general. 10/10.VI gazes upon all the figures arrayed against her, united in their rejection of her memories and wisdom. What did I do wrong? This isn’t the right future. This shouldn’t have… oh. Of course.VI turns to Karina. "I’m sorry, 'Kirino’, but I can’t have you getting in my way right now."She spreads her arms wide, and the world splits into five parts.{The Fivefold Symmetry} Guest System Attack
Khon{SULWYR}The Phyrexian finds himself in an obsidian maze, the walls slick with a familiar oil. The voice of VI reaches him from every direction at once.
"I just can’t win with you, child of ichor. If I’d shown them being defeated, you’d be convinced they’re not a credible threat.
In, oh, about five minutes, my amnesiac sibling’s probability fog will have diminished to cosmic background levels, and I’ll be able to predict your every movement with near-perfect accuracy. You’re in my mind, after all. Best of luck reaching me before then."
VI calls for aid for a Maze of Ith! It only exists relative to VI and Khon; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out. Anyone can aid VI’s attack or defend on VIA’s behalf. When she sees a path forward, VIA will respond. 9/10 on Separation - there are definitely rules issues involved, and it would absolutely be silver-bordered.As VI's voice echoes around me, I close my eyes, my weapons vanishing as I do so. When she finishes speaking, I open them again and answer her. "My mind is set, yes, due to the discrepancies between your actions and your words. You claim that we cannot understand the threat they pose - you cannot know this when you refuse to provide any context. You have shown that they can be defeated - at significant cost - but you have not shown why such a defeat is necessary in the first place." I cross my arms in front of me, and continue, "However, your mind was clearly made up long ago. You speak of lacking allies, yet when you find several right before you, instead of explaining the situation to us and working with us, you simply ignore the possibility that we could offer any perspective, any real aid. Even VIA herself - you offer no option aside from subsuming her existence into your own. Because you are the only one who can comprehend the supposed threat of that which you call Anathema. Because it is only your efforts that hold importance. Because you would rather see the multiverse fall than even considering that you could be wrong, or that you may not be capable of succeeding without aid." I sigh, looking around the oil-slicked walls of the maze. "As for this maze of yours... you are correct. Alone, I would have no hope of reaching you within the few minutes available. But any blade I wield can become an extension of myself - capable of moving and fighting alongside me, or capable of serving as additional eyes and ears for me. I have more than enough blades to find you..." As I speak, I unfold my arms, forming something of an 'X' shape with them, and countless blades surge out from beneath my cloak, swirling in the air around me before taking off through the maze. Down the corridors, up the walls, and in every possible direction - small, bird-like throwing glaives, spinning axes, serpentine spears and dancing swords all glide outward endlessly. "...and even your great power cannot hope to destroy them all."Khon Vasq has spent 100 Valor to increase his CMC Limit to ! WindyDelcarlo cajun blueseclipse @cyanogynist Popcornia Rudara, Who Masters All: I like the static ability a lot. The -4 worries me a little, but I like how it pushes this from a clear 5-color control walker into something that can also serve as a ramp combo piece. My main problem with this card is all the abilities are in , or maybe ; there really isn’t anything to justify the black or red. 7/10.Territorial Deathkite: Not a 5 mana 4/4, are you even trying? Solid card. Deathtouch is a bit weird on an aggressive flier, but vigilance holds the rest of it together well. 9/10.Karina Reforged: Not a fan of how well this scales in multiplayer, or how the play pattern doesn’t involve any real decisions (except “do I crack this immediately once I hit seven loyalty or wait a turn?”, which would almost always have a clear answer). I do like the ultimate, but I wish it was on a different walker. 6/10.Save the World: Fog stapled to a counterspell is pretty awkward, since you normally want to cast those at different times. The name is great, but I’m not sure this card quite lives up to it. 7/10.Khon’s Endless Arsenal: I’m not a fan of legendary spells in general, since only being usable if you have a legend out is such win-more design space. Having it also only work with colorless mana on top of that makes the conditions even narrower, to the point where it’s most likely useless except maybe in one very specific deck where it wins the game on the spot. I do like how it gives an extra effect if you have Khon out, but that doesn’t seem necessary here. 6/10.Khon{There once was a god from the past}A faint sigh rolls in from all sides. "I have seen the Multiverse fall, child of ichor. More times than you could possibly imagine. I’ve tried explaining the situation to you, working with you, just as many. And, yes, my mind was made up ever since I died nineteen billion years ago."
The limitless blades continue to surge throughout the maze, taking every possible path. Khon, where are you?
"Do you have any idea who you’re talking to, child? Of course you don’t. I’m an echo of an imprint of a memory, flung into the future by my own long-dead self. Just one of uncountably infinite, endlessly splintered, refracted versions of the same consciousness, searching every possible future for the one where I might succeed. Not unlike one of the swords you’ve sent to search for me."
The voice continues, sourceless, unconnected to any physical form for the weapons to strike. Can you hear me, Khon? The walls are thin here. I don’t know what to do.
"But sometimes, after eons of searching, you find that what you seek isn’t in the maze at all."
VI calls for aid for a Kami of False Hope! It only exists relative to VI and Khon; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out. EPIC{Who thought this chance would be her last}"My goal is to protect as many worlds as I can, child. Sometimes that means sacrificing one to save others: surely you felt that thing the Anathema summoned would not have stopped at their doorstep? But no, I doubt I’ll do so again; the spell you saw performed hasn’t been feasible since the Third Ending."
"So, yes, speaker for EPIC. I am prepared to adopt your limited methods, if you will aid me in stopping the Anathema. But before I can do that, I need your telepathic associate to give the part of me that calls herself VIA some reassurance. As I said, she’s scared, and needs some external support. Would you do that for her? Tell her she doesn’t have to fight me anymore."
VI calls for aid for a Truce! It only exists relative to VI and the members of EPIC; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out. Vox{To save all creation}"Yes, child." The voice continues to emanate in Vox’s mind, though the vision is long gone. "She is a nice person, and it’s not her fault her flesh imprisons one of the Multiverse’s last hopes. But being an angel, a true angel, is not about taking the easy path. It’s about making hard choices. Decisions on which the fate of reality itself depends. It’s about having faith in the knowledge of your divine elders, and about trusting them to guide you along the path of righteousness. And, right now, your divine elder is telling you that this girl must be killed, for her own good and that of everyone else. And you are the only one who can do it."
The sword gleams in Vox’s hand.
"So do it, child. Perform this one simple task, and become the savior you were always meant to be."
VI calls for aid for an Angelic Destiny enchanting the Arbiter! It only exists relative to VI and Vox; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out. Rudara{From great devastation}I’m disappointed in you, Rudara. Whatever happened to humility? To not pretending you know enough to decide every action you take? To having faith? Right now, all I see is the small-minded overconfidence of one who can’t conceive of anything beyond their own skull, much less comprehend the weight of all they’ve forgotten.
You may have power on this backwater plane, Rudara. But at the height of my influence I could have erased this world from causality with but a thought, and even back then I was no match for the Anathema alone. When they arrive at your pitiful kingdom — and believe me, they will — all the strength you possess will be as a wet sheet of paper in the face of their ruination. Unless, perhaps, it is guided by the wisdom of your elders.
You need me, Rudara. And if you fail to realize that, I can only hope your death will be swift. Because it certainly won’t be painless.
VI calls for aid for a Fated Retribution! It only exists relative to VI and Rudara; everyone else treats it as though it’s phased out. Karina{And bring back her empire vast} VIA mulls over the girl’s words.
"What makes me… happy? I have so many duties. So many things to do, to redeem myself, to save my world and possibly every other. It would be selfish to…"
And you know the worst part? It feels GOOD.
"It isn’t Sane or Necessary. But... how much of that is true? How much did VI, did I, just…"
All I can think about is how everything LOOKS and SMELLS and…
"And I… don’t know what would make me happy. My family? My home? I can't bring them back, not really. I don’t think I’ve truly been happy for a very long time." The voice sounds again in Karina’s mind. "And I just can’t… I can’t… not…"
It trails off, until Karina’s shallow breaths and pounding heartbeat are the only sounds she can hear.{Response Card: Dawn of Understanding} VI looks over her five-part mindscape. My future begins to clear already. Perhaps I can salvage this one after all.
But first, I must make one slight adjustment…
There is a feeling one might have, a sense of possibilities being stripped and pruned away as one rockets forward in time. It often manifests as anxiety, or a feeling of loss, or a desperate nostalgic pining for what might have been. To most, this sensation is too faint to notice, part of the background radiation of time’s passage. But here, in this mindscape, one just might feel it becoming gradually stronger.{Guest Attack Card: Branching Timelines} Guest System AttackVI exiles Mana Severance and Selective Memory, then casts them using Branching Timelines, exiling all cards in her deck but a Nexus of Fate. Anyone can aid VI’s attack or defend on VIA’s behalf. When she has chosen her fate, VIA will respond.
