Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and sixtieth challenge! The winner of the "Edge of Tomorrow" poll was gateways7 with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... Create a card either flavorfully or mechanically themed around playing cards or gambling. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist.. Render will be added after work: The Heart of CardsConspiracy (silver border) Your deck may contain cards ignoring format bans and/or restrictions. Say "I believe in the heart of cards": Rearrange your library.

I didn't like my original entry so I changed it. The guy is a League of Legends character that makes magic with cards. He has an ability wich allows himtopick one of three card. One stuns an opponent, another recovers mana and the last deals damage to all enemies in an area, therefore the three modes. Edit: By the way the second ability adds to avoid generating infinite mana just by replaying the card in some weird combo. {Old Entry} I might have just made the strongest tutor ever. Not sure on how I feel about it.

Teferi: I don't think that's actually a thing, man.
Don't spoil this for me, dude. The last time I won anything here, I missed the chance to submit a challenge, and I think that was at the old site.
Ral: Because you suck, and these good folks recognize that easily.
Oh, go bother Telim'Tor, you little parasites! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This card is for an Un- set, just so you know.
Rabbi's Gambling Top Artifact Whenever a single source you control deals 4 or more damage to a permanent or player, put a luck counter on Rabbi’s Gambling Top. , , Spin a dreidel: • On נ, nothing happens. • On ג, remove all luck counters from Rabbi’s Gambling Top. The next time a source you control would deal damage this turn, it deals that much damage plus X instead, where X is the number of luck counters removed this way. • On ה, the next time a source you control would deal damage this turn, it deals half that damage, rounded up instead. • On ש, Rabbi’s Gambling Top deals 4 damage to you. Put an additional luck counter on Rabbi’s Gambling Top.

sade612: should also be nonland, since you can play this with three basic land cards of one type and two of another and win that very turn.

It's a way stronger Skullclamp. Hopefully the higher costs, both to cast and equip, as well as the combat restriction and rarity serve to balance it a bit. Plus it's thematic.

(I know the odds can be stacked with players finding other ways to exile cards they own face down, but that's too flavorful for me to safeguard against. Also didn't go for the caster revealing what they set down until after the game so they could put lands if they want to. Gives a new take to "find the 'Pretty Lady.'")

More of a Kind Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, reveal X nonland cards with the same converted mana cost from your hand. Draw X cards. Even with the best hand in the world, what truly matters is how it’s used.

Hip hip hip! Here's my entry! I would love playing a card like this. Not to OP but could be really insane with +1/+1 counters or indestructible.

mrlozano : I really like the idea, but the colorless casting cost seems wrong... Why don't you use the hybrid mana (three colors) in MSE ? Or an alternate 2/R, 2/B, 2/U as Reaper King ? You can also mix synergic effects : it would nerf the card and turning it OP only while playing Grixis colors. For example: if B search an instant, put it on top of your library, then if R, search a card among top 7 cards, discard at random and finally if B, return a card from your graveyard to your hand. Just an idea, but again : I really like yours.
Jartis : Searching for 2 cards seems too OP... Why not just one ? Since it's a colorless card, it makes more sense. Maybe with a smaller CMC if you want to keep a powerful card.
kinotherapy : just passing through, I saw your avatar and I really like it. Hoseki No Kuni has a really good art and it makes this thread shining a little more! (your card seems balanced too, and fun to play!)

powernoel Flavor. The Dead Man's Hand is two pair, aces and 8s. You might wanna change it to "choose the names of two different cards", otherwise, people would just name the same card twice & grab 4 copies.

Attachment DeletedGambit's Gambit Instant As you cast Gambit’s Gambit, throw it at an opponent. If they are hit by Gambit’s Gambit, it deals 4 damage to them. "Playin' for keeps is still playin', mon ami, so take a card...ANY CARD!" --Gambit (Avengers West Coast #101)
Hmmmmmm How do I make the render as big as everyone else's?

Call Cube Artifact : Until your next turn, spells that would cost less than X mana to cast costs X mana to cast, where X is the highest converted mana cost among spells you cast this turn. (Additional mana in the cost may be paid with any color of mana or colorless mana.) "Something to make things just the tiniest bit more interesting, eh?" —Sir Q, owner of the Rowdy Roll casino
