Made this a while back just because I saw the art and thought it reminded me of Howling Mines. Since the art is fiery I decided to red it up a bit and make it an impulse draw effect. Don't really know where else to stick this but I thought it was a fun little design and wanted to share it.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should switch indestructible and trample:
Gateway Hydra Creature--Hydra Gateway Hydra enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it, plus an additional +1/+1 counter on it for each mana produced by a Gate spent to cast it. Gateway Hydra has trample as long as you control five or more Gates. Gateway Hydra has indestructible as long as you control no non-Gate lands. 0/0

One way or another, a creature will be dealt with:
Depopulate Instant Counter target creature spell unless its controller returns an untapped nontoken creature they control to its owner’s hand.
This one's deceptively powerful:
Twiddlesticks Artifact Tapped permanents lose all abilities and can’t have or gain abilities. : Tap or untap target permanent.
When you hold a grudge:
Smoldering Grudge Enchantment Flash Players can’t gain life. Whenever a source an opponent controls causes you to lose life, put that many revenge counters on Smoldering Grudge. , Remove X revenge counters from Smoldering Grudge: It deals X damage to any target.

It's an excellent way to teach players not to burn through their Duress effects too early, and works wonders with madness. However, it needs some slight templating tweaks:

As written, it could be interpreted that the +1/+1 counters are put on the sacrificed creature, which, except for Skullbriar, the Walking Grave, makes absolutely no sense. The simplest execution would be: Create a 1/1 black and green Mutant creature token with "As this enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature. If you do, this enters the battlefield with two additional +1/+1 counters on it."

I did a whole post on my blog about designing this card, but this might be the better place for sharing it. Basic design inspiration was, "Just how silver-bordered a land can I make?"
In retrospect, that probably should have been 6½ damage.

First of all, sdfkjghI think that you mean for that to be "Invigorating Wilds" with the ability it has. Enervating is kind of the opposite of what it does, meaning to strip something of strength or vitality. Otherwise, the idea of a cycle of lands with minor spell effects is an interesting idea. I like that they're all recognizably in the same cycle, but sidestep the usual "you've seen one, you've seen them all" parity that cycle lands have. Next up...well, I'm not sure if this is allowed in this thread, actually, since I do have this card earmarked for inclusion in a set. However, it's a set that I'm designing with a few friends, and still in the planning phase. So, the set doesn't even have a set design or theme yet. This is something I whipped up for my proposal of what it could be about. Which means it may or may not be something we end up using at all.

Foregone Conclusion - Sorcery If Foregone Conclusion was cast from exile, destroy all creatures. Rebound "Unfair? It was carved into the stars - fairness has nothing to do with it." I feel like this needs to do something the first time you cast it, otherwise, you're spending mana to do literally nothing. Something like this:
Foregone Conclusion Instant Exile target attacking or blocking creature. If Foregone Conclusion was cast from exile, destroy all creatures instead. Rebound
Or, you could've gotten the same outcome with a spell that could only be suspended, and had suspend 1, like so:
Forgone Conclusion Sorcery Suspend 1— (Rather than cast this card from your hand, pay and exile it with a time counter on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost.) Destroy all creatures.

xylophone: I like familiar. It's like an on/off version of [card]Timberpack Wolf[/card], which allows the bonus to be a bit better. Just had an idea inspired by [card]Chaos Warp[/card] (including its art): Warping Rhino ::3::::R::::R:: Creature - Rhino ::uncommon:: Trample When ~ deals combat damage to a player, its controller shuffles it into their library, then reveals the top card of their library. If it’s a permanent card, they put it onto the battlefield. 4/3
