ZephyrPhantom: It's called Miscellaneous Card Design Thread, not Miscellaneous Magic: the Gathering Card Design Thread. Lol, yeah, these are for a game I'm working on. (Which one is it already?) However, I'm trying not to spam, so I'm going to add them as a little bonus whenever I make one or more cards.

@gorgonzola We really can't critique your non-MtG cards without knowing how the game works.
As for your MtG cards, Mirran Workshop has the potential to be busted in artifact-heavy lists. Not necessarily Affinity, but getting Metalcraft isn't very hard in a devoted deck. Abandoned Library is probably fine as it is. I like the name a lot, too.

grishnax: Thanks for response. Mirran Workshop originally had "Spend this mana only to cast artifact spells," but this would be too busted. As for the non-MtG cards, I'll put up a thread for it soon.

We've al had those times when the shuffler just seems to hate us. Either we need nonland, and we get flooded, or we need land, and we see nothing but nonlands for multiple turns until the opponent kills us. I was pondering on Abundance, and what if that was just a rule that was always in effect? With a little bit of thinking, I realized how horrible that idea would be, because there's always Munchkins who'll exploit every rule until they force the rules team to ban it (the "This is why we can't have nice things" effect). Well, what if it was limited to only a small number of times each game? That seemed a bit better, but there was still an exploit waiting to happen within Abundance's own rules text. So, with a bit of tweaking, I came up with this:
Bountiful Bugler Creature--Elf Shaman When Bountiful Bugler enters the battlefield, abundance 3 (Create three colorless Cornucopia artifact tokens with “Sacrifice this artifact: The next time you would draw a card, you may instead choose land or nonland and reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a card of the chosen kind. Put that card into your hand and put all other cards revealed this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.”) 1/2
No render for the actual card, as I can't find any images of Elves blowing bugles.

The mechanic is too wordy. Also, "when ~ etb, abundance X" sounds bad gramatically.

ZephyrPhantom: Change it to "may" and you've got a perfect design for me. I am really bad at quick shuffling tbh. sdfkjgh: get that outta my sight

You all know Frost Lynx, right?
Icelot Creature--Elemental Cat When Icelot enters the battlefield, tap target creature an opponent controls with power less than Icelot’s power. That creature can’t be untapped for as long as Icelot is on the battlefield. Afflict X, where X is the power of the creature tapped by Icelot. (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player loses X life.) 4/4

Would something like this be possible? Facesmasher Fellow ((CASTING COST))
Creature - Human Berserker Spells and abilities you control that say "damage to any target" can now target instant and sorcery spells. If the damage on an instant or sorcery equals or exceeds its converted mana cost, counter it. POW/TOU
So Lightning Bolt would turn into " : Counter target instant or sorcery with a CMC of 3 or less." I know damage counters can't normally be placed on instant/sorcery spells, but WotC has broken the rules and pushed the envelope before.

Would something like this be possible? Doesn't look like it unless you append to comp rules (and if you're doing that why not define the second ability as well). Since I'm here- I liked the looping of these abilities, but are they too strong uncapped at this low cost? Attachment Deleted

something that might help: would you print
Blessing of Seeds Enchantment , Exile a land card from your hand: Draw a card.
because this is that but vastly vastly better (I'm not saying that base is broken, just thouught giving a kind of comparison point would help you gauge the card)

Dreadbear Sorcery Destroy target creature or planeswalker. Its controller creates a 2/2 green Bear creature token. Ashnod's Battle Bear Artifact Creature - Bear : Ashnod's Battle Bear gets +2/-2 until end of turn. Activate this ability only once each turn. 2/3

Zuty: Weird! I'd copy the planeswalker redirect rule and do it something like If a spell or ability you control would deal damage to a player, you may prevent that damage. When you do, counter target spell that player controls with converted mana cost less or equal to the amount of damage prevented this way. Wordy and not quite would you had in mind, but it's the best I can think of. Otherwise you could just make it an uncard with a shit ton of reminder text i.e. Rules Lawyer

Glorious Transmission Enchantment Whenever an opponent discards a card, that player also puts the top card of their library into their graveyard. "Greetings to what I once was. We lost, and gained far more. Praise the Father of Machines!"Bolt of Inspiration Instant Bolt of Inspiration deals 3 damage to target player. That player draws three cards, then discards three cards at random. A moment of pain for a change in perspective.Because pseudo-mill is a hilarious idea to me.

Mecha-Lord Artifact Creature--Shapeshifter Construct As you cast Mecha-Lord, choose a creature type. Mecha-Lord is the chosen type in addition to its other types. Other creatures you control of the chosen type get +1/+1. Spells you cast of the chosen type cost less to cast. 3/4

Tentacles Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature Whenever enchanted creature deals combat damage to a player, target creature that player controls doesn't untap during its controllers next untap step. So your Merfolk can have tentacles.

got in the mood to make a card for a BB character of sanscipher
Legendary Planeswalker - Amet Draw a card. Then discard a card unless you sacrifice a creature. Exile target creature card from your graveyard, then create a token that's a copy of that card, except it has base power and toughness 2/2. You get an emblem with "At the beginning of your upkeep, each opponent discards a card and sacrifices a creature. You draw a card and return up to one target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield."
e:
Scatterbrained Squadron Creature - Goblin Warrior Haste At the beginning of your upkeep, put a -1/-1 counter on Scatterbrained Squadron. The only thing greater than goblin capacity for destruction is goblin capacity for distraction. 3/3
