Ok, for starters, Lochlin's Pistol and Lochlin's Master Blueprint are pretty overpowered. We'll have to agree to disagree there, as we often do. Lochlin's Master Blueprint Legendary Artifact You may cast artifacts from your graveyard. If Lochlin’s Master Blueprint is calibrated, other calibrated artifacts you control have indestructible. Calibrate (Put a calibration counter on this artifact, it is now considered calibrated.) Cards that Blueprint gives you infinite ETB or death triggers with.Cards that Blueprint and a sac outlet for creatures give you infinite sacrifices. Cards that Blueprint and a sac outlet for artifacts give you infinite sacrifices.
Plus any Lotus variant, Mox variant, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, and Basalt or Grim Monolith plus a sac outlet also give you infinite mana. Considering most of these are already very powerful cards, the fact that a 4-drop can basically win you the game with them the second it comes out has to be way too powerful.

Last night, I dreamed that I had specified that the challenge was Overkill 7. You all can try for that, or use any number, if you like, or just ignore this completely.

viriss: Your entries are all missing the word "each" in some way, in addition to some more minor templating issues.
Conflagration: 1 damage to each of up to X; it deals X damage to each of those creatures instead.
Sickness: Up to X target creatures each get -1/-1 ueot; those creatures get -X/-X instead.
Might: Up to X target creatures each gain trample ueot; those creatures each also get +X/+X ueot.
Defense: Up to X target blocking creatures each gain indestructible ueot; those creatures also get +X/+X ueot.
Additionally, it'd be nice if you'd complete the cycle and show me what you have for , you tease.

viriss Looks cool, but why did you add X can't be 0. on every card? Seems unnecessary. The original versions of the cards had it as reminder text, which I realized was wrong and should be rules text. But... you're right, it's not needed. So I've updated them again. =)

Overkill N is a triggered ability that means "Whenever this permanent or spell deals lethal damage to a creature, it deals N damage to that creature's controller." Overkill 2 Zealous Knight Creature - Human Knight Lifelink, Overkill 2 "I've been given a mission, and I will carry it out at any cost."2/4 Firelisk Creature - Basilisk Deathtouch, Overkill 7 Its victims become molten totems to its power.1/4

Wow. Did I completely forget about judging this? You bet I did.
gluestick248: Aside from the lack of rarity in all your sumbitionssubmitions, you yourself identified your entry as "low hanging fruit". Your entry is about as obvious as low hanging fruit can be expected to be. Not really anything surprising or exciting, with the possible exception of Tricky Battlemage. A perfectly serviceable workhorse mechanic, with nothing exciting in its execution. 3
viriss: This, otoh, is quite interesting, and you got a few extra points in judging by showing willingness to take critique and additional input. I loves me some threshold N mechanics, so you've rustled the attention of my Jimmies. Each card submitted is exactly what you'd expect for each color, but your execution thereof is what makes them exciting, rather than obligated.
gamma3: An interesting idea that may have a few problems with execution and combat math, but none that are insurmountable. The Standard in which your mechanic would live might need to have few or no toughness-boosting combat tricks in order to reduce the number of feelbad moments with the ability. Fortunately, your Firelisk proves that you know the exact right payoff for the ability.
ameisenmeister: This is just slavery with extradouble strike with different steps. Plus, you didn't even take it to its logical conclusion of overkill AND double strike, for quad damage, because the way you worded it, that would absolutely work. DEAD LAST.
Winner: viriss, with gamma3 second by a length.
Sorry I forgot about judging this.

Plus, you didn't even take it to its logical conclusion of overkill AND double strike, for quad damage, because the way you worded it, that would absolutely work. DEAD LAST. No, it's not. It's an evasion ability as it discourages blocking. And yes, I took into consideration the quad damage with double strike. So what?

Prophecy - <maybe trigger>, name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. If the named card is among them, <effect>. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a radom order. I was thinking about giving it a number, but I think a pseudo with a number is a bit weird and settled for the metalcraft approach. Rune-Bark Pine Creature - Treefolk Prophecy — As Rune-Bark Pine enters the battlefield, name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. If the named card is among them, Rune-Bark Pine enters the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a radom order. 3/3 Visions of Doom Instant Target creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn. Prophecy — Name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. If the named card is among them, destroy that creature instaed. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a radom order. Visions of Destruction Instant Visions of Destruction deals 2 damage to any target. Prophecy — Name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. When the named card is among them, destroy target artifact. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a radom order. Wishing Well Enchantment Prophecy — At the beginning of your upkeep, name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. If the named card is among them, you gain 3 life. Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a radom order. Sage of Late Hours Creature - Human Wizard Prophecy — Whenever Sage of Late Hours becomes tapped, name a nonland card, then reveal the top three cards of your library. ZephyrPhantom I like that you only look at the N cards and can potentially keep one. But it is a card draw if the colors match. So the Dreams of Wisdom could net you two cards for two mana, at common, feels too powerful to me. But that just that example. Flo00 I like the set number of three cards, though do you get all of them if they all match? Seems like it would just be a lot of cycling wrong guesses to the bottom. The really odd one is your common instant, Visions of Destruction, where you choose a target as the spell resolves with the correct naming. The timing on that is complicated. sdfkjgh Prognosticate is harder to expand onto other cards since it ... only gives colorless mana? I do like that it is a "scry with a bonus", but caring about enchantments might be too limited a scope. gamma3 This is a nice expansion of miracle, where you can tell the future with different effects. I wish the blue and black prophecy effects interacted with the creatures they're on, and the red one might be too strong but is pretty straight forward.

So the Dreams of Wisdom could net you two cards for two mana, at common, feels too powerful to me. But that just that example. I had Winged Words and Of One Mind in mind when designing Dreams of Wisdom - figured that with two of those cards it was a reasonable enough indicator that conditional draw-two for 2 in Blue wouldn't break a set. You have a possibility of hitting a land or artifact even in monocolor decks so I think it has a significant enough drawback - if it whiffs, you basically just cast a very bad Scour All Possibilities.

Reach You, permanents you control, and spells and abilities you control have veil. Veil eventually made me think of shroud and hexproof, and since veiling something is hiding it from sight, I thought it'd be a good word to make the opposite of hexproof. That is, "spells and permanents with veil cannot be the target of spells or abilities its controller controls." Then for a bit of extra design space, I added "and they may not be sacrificed as part of a cost." From that I made six cards, one in each color and an artifact. So in WUBRGA order I have: Soothsight Sentinel Creature - Human Knight Defender. Veil. : Until end of turn, you may target and sacrifice permanents with hexproof, shroud, and/or veil as if they did not have those abilities. Target creature you control loses defender until end of turn. 5/3
Recreant's Confidence Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature you don't control Enchanted creature has veil and a base power of zero, and is a coward in addition to its other types.
Perfidious Stench Enchantment - Aura Curse Enchant Player. Creatures the enchanted player controls have veil. Whenever the enchanted player casts a spell or activates an ability, they may pay . If they do, a creature of their choice loses veil until end of turn. Perfidious Stench Ruling 1: When casting a spell or activating an ability, that spell or ability must target a valid target at time of casting or activiation. Because of this spells or abilities which trigger Perfidious Stench may not target any permanent which lost veil because of a trigger they caused.
Perfidious Stench Ruling 2: There is a moment between the resolution of profidious's stenches trigger resolving and the spell or ability which triggered profidious stench resolving, during which time, that spell or ability may be redirected by a third effect.
Perfidious Stench Ruling 3: When an effect that redirects the targets of a spell or ability on the stack triggers perfidious stench, the perfidious stench trigger will resolve before the redirect effect resolves, so any permanent which loses veil because of a trigger they caused would, other things equal, be a valid target for redirection).
Cloudcloaked Rabblerouser Creature - Giant Veil. Whenever you cast a spell with one or more targets, target opponent copies it. That copy targets CARDNAME and only CARDNAME. 4/4
Soothfur Mastodon Creature - Elder Elephant Trample. Veil. Whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability, creatures you control get +X/+X until end of turn where X is the number of creatures with veil you control.
Seemingly Worthless Bauble Artifact Veil. When you sacrifice CARDNAME, add and draw two cards.
I hope you find these specific examples interesting and think the mechanic has potential as a card generic downside for balancing, line for hindering opponents, or design-around mechanic.
