Uncommon #2:RG Doppelganger Aggro Ramp Azolla's Doppelganger Creature - Plant Shapeshifter As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may tap any number of untapped creatures you control. This spell costs less to cast for each creature tapped this way. Haste "Wait! Don't go over there, you-...she's too big this is bad this is BAD" -Azolla, Double Trouble

Rare #1
Tune into the Broadcast Enchantment - Enigma Meddle (: Put a discovery counter on this. Transform at III.)I-II: Tap target creature, then create a token that's a copy of that creature. III: Tap target creature, then put two +1/+1 counters on each creature with the same name as that creature. //// (TDFC) ///// Mindless Citizen Creature - Human Citizen When Mindless Citizen enters the battlefield, create two tokens that are copies of it tapped. 2/2

amneister: Nightly Visit: A fine concept, power-level feels a bit on the weak end. I wouldn't hate giving a bit extra to do with it when you topdeck it. Still, a solid common. Incubator: This is an intresting design. They are slpashable and seem very fitting in this world. I wish the faction concept was explored a bit more, I think it could have given the set a bit of structure. So far, the strongest card I've seen. I could see a world where the last ability costs 1W and you get to 1/1's. It makes it a little bit less splashable but it would simplify the card a lot and I don't think it would change the play patterns that much. viz: Crow of Ill Omens: It makes sense flavourly for insanity counters to be a downside, but I can't say I like it mechanically. Since there isn't really a way to remove them, they could turn to obnoxious. The card itself feels very weak. A 3 mana 1/2 flier that draws a card is about on rate, and this has a pretty significant downside. It also has a lot of internal tension, it draws a card but reduces your handside. I don't mind that as a concept but at a common it feels a bit off. Chaotic Devils: Derrange is an odd mechanic, I don't know how I feel about it. It's very very low impact against aggro, and somewhat obnoxious against control? I think my design and the crows kind of imply that you mainly give insanity counters to yourself, so this recontextualizes those cards, as the opposite being mostly true. This makes crows even weaker, as this effect is much stronger when it stacks. It also makes the card I showed a bit of a hoser, which is not necesarly a bad thing, but I feel derrange goes in the opposite direction of the designs we were having. Also, I wish this could have flavour text so far the plane feels a bit barren in flavor. Strength of the Deranged: This card is extremly weak, even if you have three insanity counters when you play this, it's a 3 mana give +4/+4 that gives you another counter. It also hoses derranged creatures, again, I feel this type of tension is not well realized with the isnanity mechanic. Sigil: The powerlevel is also pretty weak on this one. 5 mana for a two sided mind rot is way weak, even if hellbent gives you an advantage. As a mechanic, hellbent is reasonable, it's a more aggresive mechanic which contrasts with whisper and doppleganger. Still, it's weird with derranged, as it hoses it. Flavor feels a bit generic here too. Hollow: It's okay, I think it could add three mana of any one colored to be a refernce to LED. Foureyes: Chilling Witness: Really good use of doppleganger here. Powerlevel is a tad scary here, untapping two lands and getting to 2/1 for five mana is quite strong. This likely works better as an uncommon. Sprout: Great and simple design. Powerlevel is too weak, but the idea is solid. I like that if you have a turn 2 whisper card, you can have this a T1 play. Otherwise you probably wait a bit more because I think it's much better on T3. Azolla's Doppelganger: Why is the card with doppelganger in its name without doppleganger? I don't get the flavor of it, later on Azolla is a planeswalker and this is not her doppelganger. It seems to be playing into whisper, which doesn't seem to be in the RG space. It's missing PT, I assume it's a 0/0 that etb with X counters on it. Azolla: Azolla is an intresting card, the +1 is a bit strange with the tribal stuff, but I guess it's not too bad. Doppleganger is solid here, we've seen this kind of card before (Jace). I don't love the -3 being both so strong and that it kills azolla right away, in some ways it reads more like a 3 mana clone. Sorsal: Spider: Right off the bat, the card has memory issues. Other than that, the card is fine, I don't hate a defensive card that taps for mana. I think the card is too weak, a 3 mana 1/4 reach is nothing to ride home about and having to whisper to get a mana dork on turn 3 feels a bit low impact in my eyes. There are probably other options and way to massage the numbers to make it a more solid card. Rationalize: Great flavor! As it seems to be having, it's not super clear how much of a downside insanity counters are, so Idk how it would play. Exilign a token feels a bit narrow, so it's okay against doppleganger but that's it. I think it could draw a card or be less restrictive. Investigator: Cool enigma payoff. I think returnign to the battlefield feels much more white than blue, could have been a UW card. It's not easy to get enigmas into your graveyard though, you need to meddle and then the back side needs to die. Still, a cool concept and solid flavor. Tune into Broadcast: Powerlevel here is insane, it's a 3 mana clone, that then is a 5 mana clone, that then is gets you three 2/2 and counters on a bunch of creatures. Cloning in white feels very off, and the powerlevel is too much. General thoughts: I saw some good efforts here, but I wish you played off each other a bit more. The insanity counters mechanic didn't work for me, and maybe a bit more flavor was needed here, but still, a solid job in general. I'll give the win to sorsal as I feel he got a lot of good flavor points and cool designs. The rare is whack overpowered, should probably be blue or at change those designs, but still, I think the flavor is great. Close runner-up to foureyesisafish, with a lot of simple designs. I feel your last submistions were a bit overdone and had a couple of things I didn't love, but still, very solid cards. Great job here guys!

For Lost-Lead Investigator, I was thinking more about how Enigmas would be removed by opponents via enchantment removal more than finishing your Enigmas, but it should have been , yeah. As for Tune into the Broadcast, I think I was forcing an idea into existence more than designing for a pack, which is always a bad sign. Not exactly the best hallmark for ideas as fun as Enigma and Meddle.
Aside from all that, thanks for the win! I'll try to think of a set over the coming weekend.

lordpat Appreciate your detailed feedback. Seems I didn't strike a chord with where you had envisioned your set going. Out of curiosity, did you have a mechanic in mind for insanity counters? I took them more in the direction of how poison and experience work, since your card seemed to imply they just needed to exist on you instead of something you need to pay (like energy), and also something that you could have more of (as opposed to just having a state of "being insane" which would be better not shown through a counter). And I also wanted them to have an effect as opposed to just collecting them for no inherent effect. I used the concept of "brain damage" from Netrunner.

Remenas: Age of Ruin Christian Dimitro on ArtStation
Remenas has seen the rise of empires at their highest, and the rubble left behind when they fall. Currently ruling over its lands, four nations compete with each other for wealth, fame, glory, and authority.
The State of Taba () is the smallest of the four nations, but by no means is it the poorest. Indeed, the choir of angels that make up the ruling body of Taba ensure that providence is never far from profit. It is with their golden wings that they've grown their fiefdom into a most prosperous state. The United Nation of Almakine () is the most industrious of the four nations. Full of hardworking and passionate craftsmen and artisans, the failed projects and substandard machines make up the backbone of Almakine's production power. Most citizens pursue a specific art to hone their skill on when not working, with those talented enough earning places in the most honored of museums and galleries. The Osslan Empire () is entirely focused on understanding and dissecting every aspect of the known plane, with callousness towards those deemed subjects of their curiosity. All that know their rule are subject to closely regulated curfew, stringent laws, and a complete lack of empathy for their wellbeing. Everyone is expected to take care of themselves with the tools that the empire provides. Mardtz () is a dictatorship ruled by the strongest being, currently a powerful demon with arms that smolder with ash. Succession is ruled via a series of battles to the death, with little to no breaks in between. Known for their ruthless determination to survive, the people of Mardtz have resorted to crime to get by under Tarshen's rule; most criminals are simple townsfolk that have been left bereft of house and home. As powerful as each nation is, their inability to consider the plane as a whole have lead to Remenas' health waning, and more elementals being spawned to counter these growing threats to its stability. With each new elemental being stronger than the last, it is only a matter of time until the plane's nations have been brought low once again. The Primalists () are a growing faction woven throughout the four nations that are working to counteract the damage being wrought, preventing the destruction of their homelands as best they can.
Ignore the sci-fi aspect of case study, I just struggled with finding card art for these semi-fleshed idea in my head.

Shared Downfall Sorcery Each player sacrifices a nonland permanent they control and loses 2 life. Flashback ( You may cast this from your graveyard for its flashback cost. Exile it if it would be put anywhere else this turn.) Hating others is another way to hate ourselves.I thought flashback would be a nice fit considering the repetitive structure of the set as well as the "ancient ruins/rabble" aspect of it that is implied.

Common #3:So the description of this is that it's a faction set with tribal elements and I haven't really seen anyone explore that yet. SO... Reanalyze Tribal Sorcery - Homunculus Tap target creature. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. Regulate (You may create a 1/1 white and blue Homunculus creature token or tap two untapped creatures you control to draw a card.)So a few things: -Osslan's homunculi are the result of experimentation and are quite different to the one-eyed, blue-fleshed varieties found on other planes, more so resembling small (at least most of the time), child-like humans with odd traits resulting from their experimentation, such as differing amounts of digits, weird patches of skin and hair colors, and sometimes more dramatic changes. -I know bringing back tribal was probably not the top choice but I think it's cool. Also fits with Sparksurge's elemental clause. -Each of the four factions likely has a mechanic, and the Primalists have a mechanic in the form of a 5c smoothing mechanic. Mechanics: Taba (WB Angels): Almakine (UR UNKNOWN): Osslan (WU Homunculi): Regulate (You may create a 1/1 white and blue Homunculus creature token or tap two untapped creatures you control to draw a card.)Mardtz (BR Demons): Primalists (wubrG Elementals):

Uncommon #2I'll let someone else do the last mechanic here. Time to go back to the first one I did. This ability triggers only once each turn. 1/3

Delinquent Mercenary Creature - Imp Mercenary Haste Successor 2 (When ~ dies, search your library for a creature card with power 2 or less that shares a creature type with ~, put it into your hand, then shuffle.) 3/2 Here is the Mardtz mechanic: Successor X (When ~ dies, search your library for a creature card with power X or less that shares a creature type with ~, put it into your hand, then shuffle.) It takes some inspiration from the Mercenaries from Mercadian Masques.

I haven't played this game in quite a while so I've kinda forgotten the rules. I was pondering on a different mechanic for one of the factions. Unfortunately, another member already created one for that faction. May I still introduce the mechanic, or am I bound to the creation that was posted first?

Unfortunately, another member already created one for that faction. May I still introduce the mechanic, or am I bound to the creation that was posted first? I'm of two minds about it. In the one hand, I think that the cohesiveness of the pack is important, with conflicting mechanics moving away from that ideal, but on the other hand, I really enjoy seeing new and interesting cards, so if your idea doesn't go too far against what we've got so far, full steam ahead!

Mythic #1Xer'gich, the Tyrant Legendary Creature — Demon Flying Creatures you control have successor X, where X is its power minus 1. : ~ deals 1 damage to target creature. That creature gets +2/+0 until end of turn. "A little torture never killed anyone. If anything, it builds character."6/6 With it and other creatures having successor, the modified "firebreathing" ability (that, flavor-wise, implies torture to rile the creature up and make them stronger) can turn into a nifty tutor combo with X/1 creatures. At least, that is my intention. Not sure with the current wording if this will work as intended, i.e., if an X/1 creature will die before it gets the +2/+0 or not. {Other Mechanics I Thought About...} I thought about using a mechanic we created years ago for a community set called Ashura. The mechanic was called "dominance" and had varying effects if you control the greatest power among creatures on the battlefield. The set had dinosaurs and used dominance in all colors. Outside the set, it's obviously a mechanic, but are close runner-ups for having it. As for other ideas I had, I thought about a mechanic for Taba that focused on wealth. I thought about... Generous Bounty Instant Compensate (This spell costs up to less to cast. For each less you pay, each opponent creates a Treasure token.)Destroy target creature or planeswalker. "Not a bad deal, eh?"

{ Fermat } Feed the Destitute: Delayed life gain with some choice flavor text. 4/5 Erstwhile Artist: The flavor of the card gives me the impression it was either mono-red or blue-red. 3/5 Abandon Ideas: Forced discard with optional life gain hits that Taban/Mardtzan primalist feel. 5/5 Xer'gich, the Tyrant: Mechanic-granting with power-boosting means massive walls of force. 5/5 {Generous Bounty}This is an amazing mechanic, and if we didn't already have Investment, this would be a wonderful Taban staplehouse. 5/5 { lordpat } Shared Downfall: I'm sensing you're representing the collapse of the nations, but flavorfully that's in Green's wheelhouse as a result of each nation's hubris. 3/5 flavor-wise, but 4/5 for card design. { foureyesisafish } Reanalyze: Really leaning into what Osslan is focused on, studying everything forever. 5/5 Lofty Intern: Investment opens massive design-space, and this small of an effect is fitting for an intern's level of influence. 4/5 Almakine Scrapbroker: Someone shuffling scrap around and getting the most of it does feel Almakine, and the sac effect gives it some use in Mardtzan decks as well. 4.5/5 Dissected Worldroot: Effective mana-ramp that also ramps itself. 5/5 Osslan Assistant: Really encourages a control deck, which is what white-blue does best. 4/5 { vizionarius } Remenas' Aggression: Nice way of showing the rage of the plane into an enchantment. 4/5 Almakine Gallery: Color me surprised we don't have a land like this already. 5/5 Delinquent Mercenary: Successor is such a good way of reconceptualizing mercenaries into something Mardtz stands for. 5/5 { melono } Burning Growth: I can imagine the burst of flaming flora that precedes an Elemental spawning. 5/5 {winner}The winner is foureyesisafish, for fleshing out the flavor of Remenas the most.

{ Fermat }Erstwhile Artist: The flavor of the card gives me the impression it was either mono-red or blue-red. 3/5 Congrats to the winner! I could tell this prompt really inspired you. sorsal : Given the simplicity of the card, I opted to go monocolored. I did a preliminary search to make sure I wasn't accidentally doing a functional reprint and this effect has only been printed on one card, Steelfin Whale, which is . Two more cards have a similar ability, though they untap for all artifacts that ETB, not just yours: Battered Golem and Grinding Station; both are . Traxos, Scourge of Kroog, another card, also untaps for artifacts, but does so on casting, not when it ETBs, and does so for all historic spells.

I did a preliminary search to make sure I wasn't accidentally doing a functional reprint and this effect has only been printed on two cards and one card, three if you consider Traxos, Scorge of Kroog (though it also untaps for other historic spells). Also, Mirran Spy is pretty close, which is also mono-colored.
