I've just joined the forum and downloaded MSE. I've used the program extensively before, but just downloaded it on my new computer. I downloaded the .zip folder and extracted the entire folder, and opened MSE from there. However, the fonts and formatting of the cards are all wrong. Specifically, the Beleren and MPlantin fonts are not working, as in the image below. I'm not sure if I just extracted or downloaded the file wrong, or if I am missing something. When I downloaded the program on my last computer, I didn't have this issue. Any recommendations?

When you downloaded the font files, did you install them? Go to the files, click on them, and it should give you the option to install. If you're confused, someone else can probably explain a little better.

The quick way is how they mention you up there, here I explain step by step:
1- Go to the MSE folder, open the "Data" folder 2- Find the folder "Magic Fonts" and open it, inside it there should be another named "Magic - After M15" 3- Select all the sources inside the folder "Magic - After M15", press right click on any of the displayed sources, expand a menu and press the option Install
After doing that, check if the sources are correct in the program. but scream here, if you need more help :3

Still not working for me. Do you have another solution please?
EDIT:
I found a solution. I used the old installer of MSE, and strangely this installed the fonts correctly

1. Try restarting MSE. It won't update until its restarted. 2. When I installed the fonts, I searched for the font folder on my computer, then dragged the files. 3. Make sure you actually installed all of the fonts. There are bold ones, regular ones, etc.

I hate to dredge this up, but I'm having a similar problem. I tried following brrt's advice, but I couldn't find the folders mentioned. I'm using the "M15 DFC Maps" cards. Help?

Brrt's directions are pretty good. You should be aware that his only apply for the "Basic Magic Set Editor 2.0.1" download (the "Advanced Magic Set Editor 2.0.1" doesn't appear to include the fonts). If you already downloaded the "Advanced Magic Set Editor 2.0.1" then go to Pichoro's Download Collection, it has a separate download for the Magic Fonts. I'll include a full synposis for later individuals that want to necro the thread.
#1 The easiest way to install all of the software IMO is to "install" the "Basic Magic Set Editor 2.0.1" from the Additional Resource > MSE Downloads above. This zip file will include the fonts you need in the download. If you want any additional templates then download and install Cajun's Templates or use Pichoro's Download Collection. The "Advanced Magic Set Editor 2.0.1" that I downloaded just now doesn't include the fonts and some of the additional templates require different fonts. #2 Be aware there is no actual program installing involved anymore. Nothing is entered into the registry etc., there is no program compilation to match your computer or operating system. So once you have downloaded the program above unzip the program and move the contents to the folder of your choice. #3 Since I have known of it's existence MSE has NEVER installed the fonts, this isn't surprising as this would allow the program a level of security access that would probably be unreasonable, it would also have meant that the current version we are using would probably not work anymore as it has passed through several operating system upgrades and at some point would not have been forwards compatible. So to install the fonts: go to the folder you placed the MSE contents in and go to MSE > data > Magic Fonts > Magic - After M15. There should be 5 .ttf files in this (beleren-bold_P1.01.ttf, belerensmallcaps-bold.ttf, matrixb.ttf, MatrixBold.ttf, relay-medium.ttf). Start by double clicking on these files and follow the installation directions. - If this doesn't work then right-click on the .ttf files and select "Install" from the drop-down menu. Do this for all files.
- If this doesn't work then go to C:\Windows\Fonts within in this folder there should either be an Install Fonts menu item in one of the menus or you may be able to right-click and select Install Fonts. Once you have started the Font Installer goto the MSE > data > Magic Fonts > Magic - After M15 folder and select the .ttf files and install them one at a time.
- If that doesn't work then look up your operating system (Examples: Windows 95, Windows 7, Windows Vista...) and how to install fonts to this operating system. The .ttf files ARE the font so you simply need to know more about your operating system.
#4 If you want more templates than the starting M15 card faces then use one of the two links above. I believe that Cajun's templates use the M15 fonts if not browse through that thread and if you don't find the answer then just ask, he is a regular in the forums; Pichoro's links have the fonts in separate download files so you will need to download and install them.

Checked the links, if you can't download, it is an issue with your browser not the links (the MSE dropbox downloads are null, but the MediaFire ones work).

I found a way to install the fonts. What fonts from the separate download should I install for the Advanced version?

The rules text and the italicized text appear in the basic, wrong, font. Is there a solution to this?

Nevermind, I found the additional fonts I needed to install. They were from the "Magic - All" folder I got from the font templates download.

So i'm having a similar issue. I have properly installed all the fonts, and the Beleren fonts work for the card name and type line, but the text box is still that terrible-looking arial font. I installed using the basic m15 installer because it said here that it would work if you did that (it didn't.) Italics also do not work with this font. Thanks for the help!
