Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our four-hundred and twenty-first challenge! The winner of the "It is opposite day!" poll was spazlaz with... And the challenge issued by our winner was... Design your own Secret Lair! This should consist of one new and unique design plus up to four reprints with interesting art/frames that you think would be playable or sought after in any number of competitive formats. Notes: Feel free to come up with a title for your Secret Lair. It'll also be included in the poll. ~Daij_Djan To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

There are three things I want from wizards which their not giving us. 1: More obviously queer canon characters.
2: Cards representing missed moments in the MTG Story (like the death of Dack Fyden or so forth.) 3: Cards representing the possibilities that never were because the story went a different direction. Basically magic story cards from AUs. and one thing I want from secret lairs before I'd ever consider buying them: ten or more cards.
With that in mind, and with my favorite fucking character at the center here's [spoiler What if?: Chandra.
| Chandra's Roaring Tiger Three generic and a red
Creature — Elemental Cat
Tap: Add a red. If this mana is spent to cast a spell or activate an ability that would deal damage, it deals double damage instead. FT: The little kitten's all grown up.
3/3
Whatever happened to Chandra's Embercat?
|
| Chandra, Conflagregated Castaway A generic and two red
Legendary Planeswalker — Chandra
+1:The next time a source you control deals non-combat damage to a player this turn, draw two cards then discard two cards. -2: Create two 1/1 red elemental creature tokens with “When this creature leaves the battlefield, it deals one damage to any target.” Exile them at the beginning of the next end step unless you pay 1. -5:You get an emblem with, “If a source you control would deal damage to an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls, it deals double that damage to that player or permanent intsead.”
Starting Loyalty: 3
What if Chandra had been sent to Ixalan following the hour of devastation?
|
| Chandra, Compleated Inferno Two Phyrexian red and four red
Legendary Planeswalker — Chandra
Compleated
0: Deal 2 damage to any target
-15: Until end of turn, as sources you control deal damage, they gain infect. If you control a Chandra planeswalker, add nine red mana.
Starting loyalty: 7
What if Chandra got compleated?
|
| Chandra's Meditation Two generic and a red
Instant
Cast only during your upkeep. Tap all lands you control. Until the beginning of your next end step, whenever you tap a land for mana, it produces an additional mana of any type produced. Skip your combat phase this turn.
Missed Moment: Nissa teaching Chandra how to chill the fuck out during the events leading upto Æther Revolt.
|
| Chandra Revane // Chandra Vess
Chandra Revane (Front Face) A generic and a green or a red
Legendary planeswalker — Chandra
+1: Each player may sacrifice a land to fetch a basic land to the battlefield tapped. -1: Deal X damage to any target, where X is the number of lands in all graveyard. -6: Put all lands from all graveyards on the battlefield under your control. -12: Exile Chandra Revane then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control transformed into Chandra Revane-Vess.
Starting Loyalty: 4
Chandra Vess (Back Face) Two generic and two red or black.
Legendary Planeswalker — Chandra
+2: Target Player discards a card. If they can't, Chandra Vess deals 2 damage to them. -3: Deal 2 damage to target creature. When that creature dies this turn, return it to the battlefield under your control. -8: you get an emblem with, "You may cast creature cards from yuor graveyard. When you cast a creature card this way it gains, "if this card would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead. -12: Exile Chandra Vess then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control transformed into Chandra Revane-Vess.
SL: 3
Chandra Revane-Vess (Third Face, Token) No Cost
Legendary Planeswalker — Chandra
Chandra Revane-Vess has the first three abilities of each of Chandra Revane and Chandra Vess, a mana value of six, and a mana cost of 3 generic, a red or green and two red or black. You may activate one of Chandra Revane-Vess loyalty abilities once each turn as though none of its loyalty abilities have been activated this turn. When Chandra Revane-Vess enters the battlefield, fetch up to one Nissa planeswalker and up to one Liliana planeswalker to the battlefield.

Fortunately I had stuff for this already kicking around for my werewolf tribal edh deck. XD Ideally would have used the Equinox showcase frame, but oh well. Title: Howls from Kessig Custom Card:  Reprints:     (Not an official part of my submission, but wanted to put the other two cards I had done) {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

@ hydraheadhunter: Sorry I didn't speak up earlier, first time looking through the entries (thanks to a busy week once again).. As much as I really like your choice of cards, it doesn't fit the challenge's listing..
There are some pretty cool entries here, not gonna lie. Not many entries, but this'll be a tough one..

In case you're wondering: Since I won't be able to set up the poll tonight anyway and I've pinged hydraheadhunter on such a short notice, this thread will be up till tomorrow
Feel free to make some last minute changes (or entries) till it gets closed
