Welcome to the Deckbuilders' Challenge originally created by sdfkjgh! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a deck along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of every two weeks, a winner will be determined by forum poll, and the winner decides the challenge for the next fortnight's Contest!
Here we go, competitors: our fiftieth challenge!
The winner of the “Tools and Enchants challenge“ was ZephyrPhantom with...
Budget Decklist ($25 USD) (SOul-FLying Copter) {Comments} Combining two different classic beatdown strategies from different Standards, Ensoul Artifact and Siege Modification are here to provide double the trouble. This deck aims to animate Smuggler's Copter or Consulate Dreadnought as fast as possible and follow up with Surgehacker Mech or Skysovereign, Consul Flagship to clear the board of opposing threats. Esika's Chariot is a plan B if we don't draw either Aura, allowing us to crew vehicles normally and go on a more regular beatdown plan with the help of typical removal staples Lightning Bolt and Counterspell. While it might seem like a straightforward deck, it's also very satisfying to play as your deck has a very high consistency. Typically two-card combo decks have to do a bit of mulligan or control/draw out the combo - with the sheer number of redundant effects we have here it's very easy for us to put down a self-driving copter to go to town with. If you want a more creative take on aggro to keep durdly combo decks in check, this is likely the deck for you. The budget version mainly does away with the expensive manabase and our more expensive (but mana efficient) vehicles and compensates with more redundancy. We play both Colossal Plow and Peacewalker Colossus more for raw P/T than anything else (though the edge case of making extra Vehicles into creatures might be useful somewhere, I guess) and we add Mech Hangar to have more untapped mana fixing and another way to animate Vehicles. This version of the list also features Darksteel Citadel and Silverbluff Bridge to pressure opponents with surprise indestructible beaters via Ensoul Artifact |
