Welcome to the Deckbuilders' Challenge originally created by sdfkjgh! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a deck along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of every two weeks, a winner will be determined by forum poll, and the winner decides the challenge for the next fortnight's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our forty-third challenge! The winner of the “Numbers are Overrated poll“ was ZephyrPhantom with... |
{Comments} A lot of pro-Red creatures are , which means they often curve perfectly into a Red damage-based boardwipe. This deck plays particularly cheap ones like Devastating Dreams and Flamebreak to keep the board clear and the opponent behind while you beat down. Once noticeable advantage to this approach is that because we expect to blow up lands often Inspiring Vantage is much more likely to come in untapped. We also sneak in a few triomes to try and get some use out of Prismatic Ending to give us reach against threats this deck normally can't handle otherwise such such as enchantments. |
And the challenge issued by our winner was... Make a deck featuring at least one digital only card. (E.g. Digital exclusive cards from Arena, MTGO, or old video games). If you want to quickly find all non-paper cards in Arena, search -in:paper in Scryfall. This doesn't for cards from MTGO like Vanguards or other video games. Please provide a decklist using deckstats, tappedout or similar. Feel free to add some comments as they will be included in the final poll. Please provide a deck name as well as choose a card to represent your deck in the poll. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Looking forward to that Rarity vs. Sol vs. Buick fight in the next poll. Going to call dibs on Toralf's Disciple. I have a deck in mind for it but need some time to actually put it together... Daij_Djan - By the way, is every card in Rarity's decklist a rare or mythic? I might want to run it in the distant future.

Annoying Sisters of Souls (Historic Brawl)(What if, if I may, we bring Volrath's Stronghold into MTGA?)
Personally digital exclusive cards don't interest me since most of them are "digital for digital's sake" and rarely have interesting designs. So I choose to forfeit the potential jank builds or special combo builds and assemble a more straightforward strategy -- Soul sister life gain deck, with a great number of raise dead effects. (Thus "annoying", and the opening about Stronghold. Conveniently, Liesa, Forgotten Archangel is the perfect commander.)
The deck consists of the (for me) most famous digital exclusive card available in MTGA -- Hallowed Priest. This shows to play soul sister decks we are willing to play every copy of Ajani's Pridemates. Phyrexian Reclamation is also notable because it's the most efficient and consistent raise dead effect in Historic card pool. (Stronghold!)
Also, ignore the copy of Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Exquisite Blood, and Some super detailed tutors. I couldn't resist.

Yes, all Secret Lair prints (basic lands aside) are officially rares - that's how I got the idea

Merry Christmas, everyone! As usual, there won't be a new challenge on Monday as this round will last for one additional week.
