Universe Beyond opens up a lot of card ideas, and that has me thinking how cards from other TCGs would work translated into Magic: the Gathering. So, here's my challenge for everyone: Make a MTG version of a card from a different TCG, CCG or one of those in a way that Explanations how the card works in its original game. Please remember: You're not allowed to vote for yourselves. For further information please look at the CotW Rules.

{Explanation} I actually haven't played all that many card games besides Magic. One that I have played, and enjoyed (and would have spent money on by now if one of my LGSs stocked it . . .) is the Final Fantasy TCG.
A quick explanation of the card design: Everything other than the "boost" ability is as direct a conversion of possible of one of the Lightning cards from the FFTCG (without concerns for power). The "boost" ability Explanations that all cards in the FFTCG can be discarded to gain a single "CP", which is basically equivalent to Magic's mana.
Also considering breaking the straight conversion to make the activated ability only destroy one creature, to make the card possibly more balanced.

{Explanation} I've played a tiny bit of Yu-Gi-Oh back when it came out, but I don't remember many known cards that don't pretty much were MtG rip offs to begin with I think I'll go with a Swords of Revealing Light design.

{Explanation} Anyone here ever play Elements? That was my jam before getting into MTG.
Also, no, I could not find a higher res image of this lol

{Explanation} Alright, so my first attempt failed horribly when I realized the challenge was for a translation of a specific card, not just some rules.
However, I refused to let that keep me down. I was going to make Duel Masters work. So here is a more memorable old card from Duel Masters. (that became horribly wordy to make work as the original did, to the point where I unfortunately had to cut the flavor text.)

Leaving it as a 2/2 instead of upgrading it to a 3/2 like in Hearthstone currently because A. this is the version people are likely to be familiar with and B. it's a better fit for Magic, White doesn't typically get 3/2's for 2.

{Explanation} Ok, let's get really obscure! For a few years, starting round about late 2012, I was playing an online cardgame called HD: Xyth. Now that Flash has been baleeted, and any and all emulators have been nuked from orbit, I have no idea if you can even play it anymore, but I built a ton of decks, and fully upgraded every single one of them, which isn't easy, let me tell you. That game gave me many ideas for Magic designs, but for the purposes of this contest, I think I'll go with one of the simplest:
So, the Corporal's double chevron means an etbf effect, that circular insignia is like an upkeep effect, and you have a maximum life total, which can be increased by various means, which are usually better in the long run than effects which just heal back any lost health. I didn't wanna obsolete the Tarkir gainlands, so I cut the etbf effect. Plus, it's a little hard to translate the life totals of HD: Xyth to Magic, as HD: Xyth usually starts out at like 30-60, and there's also the upper limit.
Plus, HD: Xyth has 8 different colors of energy (mana equivalent), and even then, there's way too much overlap in what factions have access to which abilities.
Anyway, my card is an almost direct translation, and I wish you all could play HD: Xyth to see how true that is. Mebbe you can, idk.
EDIT: Also also, the energy didn't go away at the end of your turn, and there were no instants. There was one "instant speed" exploit with a couple of cards, but I don't know if that was patched or not, as it tended to crash the game.

{Explanation} I had a hard time since I don't play any other TCGs or CCGs, but thanks to the update on the challenge, I'm going to make a card for one of my favorite deck-builders, Slay the Spire!

{Explanation} Alright, so I decided to make a card from Dominion. Not just any card, but my personal nemesis. Why that one? Well, because at least in MtG, when someone at the playgroup plays it, I get to smash his face in revenge!
{Orion Rings}
{Explanation} i think hearthstone's roaring torch is a cool implementation of the "shuffle a card into your deck" idea, since it fixes the variance problem by making the token really, really good
{ZephyrPhantom}Flash of Avarice
Sorcery
As an additional cost to cast ~, shuffle five creature cards from your graveyard into your library.
Draw two cards. Exile ~.

{Explanation} See cards like Blessed Respite and Barishi for why the 2nd color is . Surprisingly comparable to Treasure Cruise.
Exile clause was added to keep it from easily recycling itself and creating a busted loop of some kind. From my experience you generally don't play Pot of Avarice to recycle it later either.

{Explanation} This is originally a card (well, 2 cards later reprinted as single modal card) from Duel Masters, known as Kaijudo in the West, a direct descendant of MTG published by WotC.
dragonspit999 's post covers the uniqueness of combat, so I decided to try and implement its mana mechanics.
In this game, any card can be played upside-down as a mana source in the Mana Zone, just as you'd play a land.
To facilitate that, I defined a new land type Zone that should work normally. Any weird rules interaction from having a instant/sorcery card in play should follow the same rules as having a manifested instant/sorcery.
To add commentary to the card, the front side is an Arboreal Grazer effect, while the back side is there to recycle high-cost creatures you used as mana in the early game at the cost of another creature.

{Explanation} Dark Snake Syndrome is one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. The card's awful, but it's fun as hell.

{Explanation} There's a card game called Infinity Wars, and I took a card from it. Here's the conversion:
Now, this card by itself doesn't feel that exciting. Sure your creatures have infect, but, that's it.
What makes this card interesting is the sheer amount of flavor text that came with it. There was so much flavor text that I had to create another card to fit it all
Aleta made her way through Avarrach, suffering each day as her body struggled to fight off the virus that infested the very air itself. Oddly, the undead around her simply left her alone, instead all singly-mindedly walking towards the closest rift.
At the start of her journey, the virus would only attack her if she came into direct contact with one of the undead. Lately though, the undead around her were becoming more and more active, rarely anymore did she see the Sleepers sleeping. As they awoke, the air became more hostile to the living.
Even though many digital records had shut down long ago, Aleta had millennia of technical knowledge, and found it trivial to reactivate their ancient terminals. The centuries-old records told a grim tale: one of world wide panic and hopelessness.
One city in particular was mentioned often: Kyrallic, once a great center of learning on Avarrach, and the origin of the virus. Thus she found herself there, searching for anything that would shed light on a cure.
Around her were the dead of Avarrach, ignoring her to head in one, uniform direction. One of the undead, however, moved differently. She did not move with the others, instead seeming to wander aimlessly among them.
Aleta made her way towards the errant undead. As she approached, her target stopped and stared at her. Aleta stared back, in shock.
Two identical Aletas stared at each other: one from Talich, one from Avarrach.
This twin of hers looked tortured from the virus. Centuries of the cycle of becoming infected and immortality fighting off the virus, a painful cycle that Genesis-Aleta had already come to know so well, had taken its toll on her newfound twin.
At last, Aleta had found the key she was looking for.

{Explanation} In Yu-Gi-Oh, you need to set trap cards face down before activating them on a later turn. To represent that, I've made this version of Mirror Force only castable after you "set it face-down" in exile in an earlier turn.

{Explanation} One of my favorite cards from Keyforge, hopefully not as busted as it may seem!
