Allatu's aimless wandering meets up with the defined path of a high-school aged student and a mid-twenties woman. The student is carrying a book in his hands, both have devices on their wrists that look roughly like bent blue plates attached to bracelets, and both are wearing dark backpacks with glass tubes affixed to them at all possible locations. The woman doesn't say anything, but swipes her blonde hair out of her eyes and keeps one hand constantly moving. The student's dark blue eyes shimmer with magic. "Hi! My name's Ani, we're going around inoculating -- or, sorry, I guess those Lerithan guidelines want me to say 'vaccinating' -- people against something called glistening oil. I think it's done spreading, but until the scouts get back with something concrete, we can't tell, so we want to get our inoculation out first."Wellness Check Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a -1/-1 counter from each creature you control. , Sacrifice Wellness Check: Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn.

Her voice is quiet but rough: "Hello, Ani and friend of Ani. I appreciate the offer, and understand there must be urgency. However, I am unfamiliar with some of what you say, and do not frequently accept injections from strangers. How does one inoculate against an oil? As well, how does one scout out an infection?" An Abundance of Caution Instant Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn by creatures with no counters on them. A party's host must remain alert, for the good of both themself and their companions.
Very cute name! Love how it somewhat counters infect but find the interaction with Glistening Oil itself really funny. Not super high on the pump at instant speed but I like its inclusion as a finisher and as something to do once all the counters are gone. 8/10

Illusions have always escaped me, but I increasingly feel I should learn them. With this known, I am Allatu Kishar, and I am here to learn. I thank you for the name of this plane, but must question the combative nature of it. Do we intend to fight?" Feel like I'm going to struggle rating [ ] on account of never having played with conspiracies. This seems in line with other conspiracies but I worry about how strong a turn two it enables. 9/10

admiralivy Catch Up: Seems useful in multiplayer as sort of a white Cultivate. Less so in single player since it's hard to get both effects online at once (and decks that can probably don't want ramp anyway), but I could see it in a Commander product or something. 9/10.The man returns the bow. "Call it personal experience. But yes, I admit your appearance was a clue." He takes a journal and quill from his pack. "I have no wish to fight you. The reason for this plane's moniker still eludes me, though I suspect it's related to the interplanar conflicts waged here in the past. What is it you wish to learn here, if you don't mind my asking?"Nosy QuestionsConspiracy At the beginning of the first upkeep, look at target opponent's hand. You may exile a nonland card from it. For as long as that card remains exiled, its owner may play it. A spell cast this way costs more to cast.

As well, I do not mind the question; I expect I will receive many more in the course of asking my own." A moment passes as she tilts her head in thought. "I have been a wanderer for many years, and felt more drawn to this place than any other I have crossed in my travels. I hope to learn why that is, and in the process take in the experience of the people, places, and things of this world. I suppose I am... a tourist, of sorts. You speak of past conflicts, are you familiar with them? Even as another outsider, you seem the type to know the history of this plane." Second Look Instant Shuffle your graveyard into your library. I too am here to learn the nature of this place, including why so many planeswalkers are drawn to it."
He nods as Allatu finishes her question. "Why, thank you. I know a little, though not as much as I'd hoped to by now. Just a few months ago a planeswalking warlord by the name of Lindri tried to invade and conquer this plane, frightening a local god so much that she transported the only major city for miles to parts unknown. And that's without getting into the body thieves, the hell-portals, the murderous chronomancer, or the strangely haphazard Phyrexian invasion—all within the past year. Frankly, I've begun to think the most surprising feature of this plane is that it still exists." He pauses. "I'm, ah, not trying to scare you off or anything. The Arena has plenty of defenders. I'm told almost no one was killed."
The man flips to another page in his journal. "Now, in return, I'd like to ask you another question: where are you from? I'm not familiar with your species." Another pause. "You don't happen to work for the library, do you?"Staged ConflictConspiracy Hidden agenda When ~ is turned face up, target creature you control with the chosen name fights target creature you don't control.

Allatu responds to the smile in kind, but it gradually fades from her face as he continues. "A warlord, a god, and all the rest just this year? Yet none die... I will take your word for it that this plane is well defended, but must hope I am not called to such action." A glance directed at his journal interrupts her speaking. "Is this being written down?" This time a short, shrill laugh. "I have not been interviewed in many years. No, I do not work for a library, much less what might be called 'the' library. I am Brykia and I am native to Bry, though I reveal the latter with some hesitation. It has been quite some time since I was last home, and I left under unfortunate circumstances. If you have questions as to the biology of my kind, do not feel unwelcome to ask; I may be less forthcoming in relation to our land."
She spends several moments pondering her next words. "If I may question in turn, I would first like to know your name. Greater inquiry can come once I am closer acquainted." Parry and Riposte Instant Target creature you control gains hexproof until end of turn. It deals damage equal to its power to target creature an opponent controls. A glimmer in her eye betrays her fondness for this paradigm, however far removed from it she may be. "If this explanation does not prove sufficient, I would be pleased to continue in greater detail. As to your perception of it, I have learned, in the time since I have left Bry, that there is a degree of this ability beyond that which I can suppress. As well, not all who I have met enjoy this sense of unity. Does it cause you discomfort?" Love this type of effect, both as a designer and a player. Interesting that this applies before mulligans, glad you included the reminder text! 10/10

admiralivy As Allatu wanders the forests of the Arena, an arrow flies out at her from a treetop. Looking at where the arrow was, she can just barely catch a glimpse of someone as they hide behind a branch. Mardu Volley Sorcery ~ deals 1 damage to each creature your opponents control. Raid -- If you attacked with a creature this turn, ~ deals 2 damage to each creature your opponents control instead. "Lead with arrows, to cover the advance, and end with arrows, to cover the retreat." -Mardu raiding strategy
The Brykiar leaps aside, scanning both the real and the beyond for signs of her assailant as she runs for cover. A cloud of glittering moths trails her, flitting and dispersing to obscure the area. Deciding herself sufficiently concealed behind a split-trunk oak, a psychic broadcast declares her intent: "Hello, foe. I mean you no harm, and would be greatly pleased to learn that this is a misunderstanding that can be reconciled. Please respond with haste." Lepidopt Conclave Creature - Insect Flash Flying When Lepidopt Conclave enters the battlefield, prevent all damage target instant or sorcery spell would deal this turn. A meeting of mothballed minds.2/1
I'm a big fan of Blazing Volley, and this is a cool take on it with great flavor. If you get in the raid mode this can be absolutely devastating, but it's the right amount of telegraphed and requires suboptimal trades on your end. 10/10

This should probably be a rare, but this is the way I would do what would effectively be a white counter spell, and I like the idea of it being in a white/blue flicker deck. The Brykiar catches a glimpse of a boot behind the tree from which the arrow flew, and through a psionic scan, she finds two entities in that same direction. One of the entities, a woman, replies aloud to the broadcast: "I also wish you no harm, but unfortunately, I have been paid quite a bit to harm you."A burst of lightning hits the tree that Allatu hides behind, arcing to hit some of the moths on its way. Rapid Culling Instant Destroy target creature that entered the battlefield this turn. Cycling

admiralivy An Echo of Purpose: Lantern of Insight on a creature is easy enough to interact with, so I assume it's safe for Constructed (if playable at all). The sacrifice hopefully means it won't stick around too long in Limited either. 8/10."Discomfort? No, not at all. It's really quite pleasant by comparison." The man scribbles more notes in his journal. "Fascinating. Ever since my time on Lorwyn I've wondered why telepathically mediated social structures are so hard to come by. Though perhaps I'm somewhat biased… do you happen to know how these psychic talents of your species first came to be?" As she ducks low and runs for another spot to hide, the remaining moths scatter around a swiftly swooping shape, fading to nothingness while a large bird hovers between its ally and the source of the lightning. Another broadcast follows: "Am I to be killed? To be maimed? Or merely to be removed as an obstacle? If there exists a mediated path through this conflict, I am not intrinsically opposed to it. Would I suffice as a captive?" Swooping Savior Creature - Bird Flash Flying When Swooping Savior enters the battlefield, you may return another target creature you control to its owner’s hand. 2/2
Fun situation removal with an easy cycling cost for when it doesn't work out. 9/10

Otherwise, creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. "I see. I am glad it is pleasant, for what that notion may be worth. As to the origin of these talents, please permit me a moment for arithmetic... There was an event of some significance, I am told, felt across many planes. This event occurred almost one-hundred years ago, using the definition of such employed in my home. Furthermore, our measure of time has the zeroth year placed approximately six-point-five hundred of our years before that, though I am unable to speak of if this event was present on Bry. This zeroth year is marked as 'Unity', when the peoples of Bry were united as Brykiab and the caste system implemented." Another few moments spent in thought."I was taught very little of our pre-Unity history, for reasons unknown to me. What I am certain of, even given this lacking area, is that the third caste did not exist pre-Unity, nor did any notable group of similar quality exist. We were, for lack of a better word, invented by the first Brykiar. Known in this age by no other name than Unity, she wielded psychic abilities beyond any other before or since, and crafted us in her image. Her origin, and therefore the origin of telepathy on our world, is unfortunately unknown to me." A long pause follows this, as she turns her head aside and frowns. The subtle but detectable projection of her mood turns to frustration, the target unclear.
"Do either of you or this world know the concept of 'genetics'? In other terms, the study of the most base foundations of life. There is magic to our ability, but as well there are consistent patterns, potential causative factors, correlations between expressions of the inward flesh and expressions of the projected mind. I was never a scholar of this field, but my education included the fundamentals. Were we to meet with an expert, information in this area may be of use to you." Brykia Anatomist Creature - Insect Cleric , Put a -1/-1 counter on a creature you control: Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn. "One life for another, friend. You will be remembered."2/2
This seems quite slow, even if the payoff is strong (though it does helpfully contribute to the game ending). 8/10

"Alright, then. Pleased to make your acquaintance. It shouldn't be too far from here."As the party moves towards the next town, Ani spends a lot of his time tapping the thing on his wrist.
Entering a settlement, there may be routine telltale signals of confusion upon sighting a seemingly alien insectoid individual. Allatu, however, might notice evidence of careful examination in one's mind, loudly committing particular details to memory, such as clothing, present company, number of eyes, demeanor, with the intent to set those details to writing—for someone else's benefit. There is some greed underlying each observation. If she looks to the source, she will see a townsperson, male, trying to seem indifferent, but still quite clearly staring. The moment he realizes that his gaze has been returned, he tries to nonchalantly go about his business—and away from Allatu. Leering Informant Creature — Human Rogue When Leering Informant enters the battlefield, target player reveals their hand and discards a nonland card. 2/1

Despite this advantage, it's quickly evident how poor a match it is for Atlani, hanging on as best it can to provide a lengthy enough distraction for Allatu. Meanwhile, she reaches out as far as she can, calling for whatever allies may come. "I see. I will do my best to succeed in that role, though I make no guarantee of my prowess." Rending Talons Instant Target creature you control deals damage equal to its power to target attacking or blocking creature you don’t control. Limited extra combat on a creature is really cool, great flavor conveyed here. Nitpick that I don't blame you for: they errata'd raid to "[...], if you attacked this turn, [...]", nixing the "with a creature" bit. Don't remember the reasoning. 10/10admiralivy Brykia Anatomist: Interesting effect. Seems quite mathy but that's less of an issue at uncommon. 8/10.The man continues his note taking. Seems totally in line with the other conspiracies that grant board advantage. Not sure if the tapping is super useful as a balancing mechanism here, but it helps convey the flavor the name implies. 9/10

Very cool method of improving Ravenous Rats. Seems in the right spot in terms of balance, safe choice to put it at uncommon. 9/10 There's a rush of wordless confusion at being addressed telepathically, and despite the assurance, some fear of the consequences for being spotted this way. They're moving away now, hoping to get out of range, and carefully choosing their surface thoughts to share partial truths. "I'm a concerned citizen, acting in his own best self-interests. When someone says that 'people talk', I am one of those people. And don't worry about your new friends; The Eternity Project is on our side, even if they don't know it. Why else do you think everyone is already prepared to accept inoculations?" Pick Up the Pieces — Templating wise, you should be specifying type cards, since they are cards in your graveyard when they are targeted. I'm not a fan of how this ostensibly modal spell has a semantic equivalent in a single mode, even if it's plain that the distinction is for each colour's types. Finally, comparing to similar costs for full regrowths, this is likely overcosted. 6/10

Arc noticed the sensation immediately and tracked it back to it's origin. Without moving a muscle he focused entirely on his peripheral vision and followed the woman with his perception. He wasn't sure, but she felt like him... a planeswalker. He had run into a few on this plane. More than he had ever encountered before. But this woman gave off an eerie feeling the other hadn't like he was being watched, but not in a threatening way. However as a Ninja by trade he did not like that feeling one bit. It made his skin crawl. Suddenly he would be standing next to her following stride as she walked. "Hello. Seems like there are a bunch of us around here." Arc's voice is cool and clear even through the mask that hid his lower face. "I am a skilled professional, who's not from around here, name's Dominic" he lied. Two truths and a lie said with whole hearted belief that they were true usually threw off suspicion that a liar was lying. "What brings you around here?" Arc asked. Keeping step with the newcomer Arc's clone faded from Arc's perception as he continued to study the street.
