I'm a big fan not only of Magic, but of card and boardgames in general. Let's see how you are doing on this account. Take an Element from another (mainly) non-digital game and represent it on a Magic card. Or turn the game as a whole into a card. Please remember: You're not allowed to vote for yourselves. For further information please look at the CotW Rules.

Referencing the karama cards/mechanic from the Dune boardgame, which allows you to stop most factions' special abilities. {crashington}
This obviously represents the pawn and quite a few of it's in game specialties.
It has menace to represent its forking ability, can turn into a queen if it goes unblocked (Queening) or can destroy a creature that it went past (En Passant, which the name is also a nod to).
Its pretty weak easily destroyable just like pawns in chess are easy to defeat, but it can become very dangerous if left unchecked.
Haste could have fit in here to represent the 2 field move pawns can do once, but the would not have fit into the Black/White colors that I tried to keep it in, for obvious reasons.

I like Cribbage for the tough decisions of what to dump in the crib versus what to hold for the play, and for the surprise of finding out what your opponents have given you, so I wanted to make a card around it. The total mana value number should probably be smaller, but I don't think it would be clear enough otherwise. {sade612}

Replaced the leyline ability with the Once Upon a Time freecast, players can no longer add cards they don't own to their hand. {The Harlequin}
The hardest part was trying to word the combat system: You may choose to attack the "hero" aka player or their allies aka minions. The closest possibility was to give every creature provoke, BUT there is a kniff in that.
-- Allies with the keyword "protector" may be assigned to block, even if an Ally gets attacked -- But you can't change blockers while provoked. So instead i choose to go with the non-existence of damage-priority in combat (well "long-range" exists in the WoW-TcG which basically means that a ally with long-range doesn't get any damage in return if he attacked, but you can't consider everything, am i right ;-) )

Russian Roulette does seem like something the Rakdos are crazy enough to sell as entertainment. It's a little harder to kill superpowered Planeswalkers, though. {melono}

Boss Monster, a board/card game where players are boss monsters, and must create dungeons by putting dungeon rooms down in order to stop the heroes from killing them. When you kill a hero, you get a soul and with a specific number of them you win. {aquonn}

Honestly this week was difficult, since most of the non-MTG tabletop games I play are pen-and-paper RPGs. Still, I made this, inspired not by one specific game but the deck-builder genre as a whole, so games like Dominion, Ascension, Star Realms, etc. Anything that uses the idea of a communal buy row essentially. {Fermat}Slippery Coatl
