Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our three-hundred and sixty-ninth challenge! The winners of the "What's All the Type About?" poll were Jartis (left) and sade612 (right) with...And the challenge issued by one of our winners was... As a historian, I realize that one of the most important parts of a culture is their stories. So I'd like to see some cards that tell a story about specific creature type(s). To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post.And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Siring of the Second (1)(R)(W)(B) Legendary Enchantment - Saga (Mythic) (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)
I: Search your library for a Vampire creature, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. II: Whenever a creature is dealt combat damage by a Vampire this turn, put a blood counter on it. Target Vampire you control deals damage equal to its power to target creature you don’t control. III: You gain control of all creatures with blood counters on them. If you control two or less Vampires, remove two lore counters from Siring of the Second. Lore text that wouldn't fit: All it took was a single bite and then a feeding of the victim...

aquonn: You're missing a comma. "If you can't sacrifice Goblin Warfighter" is completely different from "If you can't, sacrifice Goblin Warfighter."
I hope this qualifies:
DR. BEES! Legendary Creature--Human Rogue Vigilance, haste When DR. BEES! enters the battlefield, create X 1/1 white, black, and green Insect creature tokens with flying and deathtouch named Bee, where X is DR. BEES!’ power. Whenever DR. BEES! attacks or blocks, copy each Bee you control. Whenever a Bee you control leaves the battlefield, you may pay . If you do, return DR. BEES! from your graveyard to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. 2/3

This challenge kind of screams Saga to me - which is why I really don't want to do one
{outdated}
Actually, that artwork made me think of a much better design:

Telling a story of a collective existence -- Sliver. Imo there is nothing more iconic than that. So let#s just experiment with this genom a bit
EDIT: Fixing the wording so that the effect text fit's the collective ( Harmonic Sliver for the effect clause) but with "Sliver creature" cause of the +1/+1 counter and the fact that it is only ment to be put on creatures ( Dormant Sliver for example uses both wordings -- cause there could be Slivers that aren't creatures)

It's a tragedy for the geomancer, but for the elementals it's closer to a story of revolution.

The Dark Knight Rises Enchantment - Saga Flash (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)I - Exile target creature until ~ leaves the battlefield. II - Create two 1/1 black Bat creature tokens with flying and lifelink. III - Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control this turn, put a +1/+1 counter and a flying counter on it. It's a Bat in addition to its other types. Inspired by the movie of the same name. I ended up specifically designing it around the moment Bruce Wayne faces his fears and climbs out the pit. There are two ways to use the card - either by temporarily imprisoning an opponent's creature like Bane did to Batman, or by exiling a creature to go on a journey of self-discovery/re-discovery of inner-strength like Batman experienced.

It is from the movie 9, a 2009 animated film, but the guide I read on how to annotate a movie still said this was the way to do it. Of the main antagonist, a robot who caused the apocalypse by mass producing other robots to destroy humanity when they were to the point of using giant robots as war machines. Then in comes the heroes, little (magically?) animated stuffed doll things, 9 of them to be exact.

Well it is a story driven challange -- And if not everyone gets the reference without any other hints, then the reference may be a bit unfitting imo.

Awakening of the Nephilim Enchantment - Saga I For each color among permanents you control, seach your library for a card of that color. Reveal those cards, put them into your hand, then shuffle. II You may put a multicolored permanent from your hand onto the battlefield. III Put a number of +1/+1 counters on each creature you control equal to the number of colors that creature is. I have the feeling there might be a better wording for chapter III. This is an event form the Dissension novel.

dragonspit999 If you have three other artifacts, (which is eqsy for an average artifact deck) Duplicator is a 5/7 for . Maybe limit the ability to not go under 1 mana or put a into the level cost or something like that.

The Harlequin: Well, I was simply explaining the story of the movie to them, since they seem interested in the source of the picture. It is only inspiration, not reliant for understanding of the concept. This is just a story of construct revolution. Thank you for the feedback however. I wanted to avoid the generic types people were using and do something more me. I considered Assembly-Worker and Golems as well, but Assembly-Worker squished the typeline too much and Golem screamed Phyrexia which I wanted to avoid getting into. Also, Constructs making more of themselves made more sense than Golems imo. (A-W made the most sense, but see above.) Flo00: I bounced back and forth on costs quite a bit. I hadn't even considered the usage of unaltered colorless required. Now a 5/7 costs 7 right off the bat at minimum. My entry has been updated. Thank you greatly for the feedback.
