Thank you for the win, hydraheadhunter . Are you going to post here your fully custom Chandra deck when it's finished? I'd love to see it.
Edit: Around one day left.

{ melono} A bit too OP for my tastes and its color is different than the original. It doesn't give me the idea of a pushed Calciderm, it's more like a planeshifted version of it.
{ foureyesisafish} A modern version of Calciderm. It's powerful in a straightforward way, but not enough to see constant play.
{ hydraheadhunter} "For 4 turns, you get an untargetable 5/5 and your opponent can't play buffs". I think it borders between being OP and being too OP.
{ ZephyrPhantom} Making it create board value that lasts even after it's gone is a simple, yet effective solution.
{ vizionarius} Hexproof is a good choice, but lifelink is a bit too much for me. I'm not too sure about the race change, while in gameplay terms it would be more supported, it makes it feel a bit too deviated from the original calciderm.
{The winner is...} ZephyrPhantom! Runnerups: Hydraheadhunter and foureyesisafish.

Thanks! I put a decent amount of thought into finding a fitting effect. Your next card is to push is Gosta Dirk. Good luck!

Gosta Dick, Cockblocker Extraordinaire A generic, two white, and a blue
Legendary Creature — Human Warrior
First strike Creatures you control may ignore restrictions when blocking creatures your opponents control (For example creature you control without flying or reach can block flying creatures). 4/4
|
Obvious naughty name edit + expansion of the ability to any restriction; such as, flying, menace, protection, "cannot be blocked," shadow, horsemanship, skulk, etc.

Gosta Dirk Legendary Creature - Human Warrior First strike Creatures without flying or islandwalk can't attack you. You may block creatures with flying or islandwalk as though they didn't have flying or islandwalk. 4/4 He was the defender of their island using tidal waves and such. Making it fit the flavor more and also playable as a moat commander. Keeping the spirit of his initial ability as well. Edit: Put P/T back down to 4/4 from my initial 5/5 since the moat ability is pretty strong.

Gosta Dirk, Expert of the Lands
Legendary Creature - Human Warrior First strike, shroud You may block creatures with landwalk abilities as though they didn't have those landwalk abilities. Whenever ~ attacks, choose up to 5 creatures you control. Each of those creatures gain landwalk of each a different basic land type until end of turn. 4/4

Well, maybe the card's changed too much but I feel that it still captures the essence of what the old card was about while giving Gosta a clear don't-play-tricks-on-me approach that underlines his warrior-ness. Oh, and Kusho is the island he's from according to the lore.

vizionarius I see what you did there Sorry everyone, I don't have time for a full judging this time. ameisenmeister wins - they make a strong deviation from the original card but do so in a way that makes sense and gives the creature more room to care about hosing abilities beyond landwalk or combat-related ones, which I think is a really interesting take and would cause it to see play in various prison builds.

If you do, create that many 2/1 red and white Elemental Soldier creature tokens with trample and haste. Exile those tokens at the beginning of the next end step. 5/3

Judging time! vizionariusClear update on the creature that would make for an interesting build. Not much to say about it besides that I like it! melonoThat's a twist. Looks like Blaze Commando and Syr Carah had a child. A Goblin-child no less. Anyway, cool card! {And the winner is...} vizionarius! Both designs were solid but yours felt more like a push whereas melono's was rather a complete overhaul. Thanks for participating!

Is probably a bit unfun to play against though. Kind of Lantern Control in one card. So I have to go with a different approach: Aven Fateshaper Creature - Bird Wizard Fyling When Aven Fateshaper enters or leaves the battlefield, each player mills four cards. Then you choose a card from each player’s graveyard and put it on top of its owner’s library. : Sacrifice Aven Fateshaper: Draw a card. 3/3 Note that if you sacrifice this, you first do the die trigger, then the card draw.

Aven Fatesealer A generic, a blue, and a black
Creature — Bird Wizard
Flying Whenever Aven Fatesealer deals combat damage to a opponent Fateseal that player X where X is the amount of combat damage Aven Fatesealer has dealt to them this turn.
1/5
|
Rulings: 1. X is the sum of all combat damage dealt by Aven Fatesealer to that player this turn. If Aven Fatesealer were given double strike and dealt both first strike and normal damage, its controller would fateseal 1 after first strike damage and fateseal 2 after regular damage.

{Judging} { spruder}Manipulating the top 4 cards of an opponent's deck, at such a low cost, and being able to repeat it, is a little too strong. I do like your approach of lowering a lot of the costs for a smaller bird, since I too think it makes sense for birds to not be a 4/5. But I think it's a little too pushed. { Flo00}Synchronized mill is a neat way to make it fit into many types of decks without making it too overpowered. It being a 2-time effect gives it a nice balance, and it has a cool use of the Yavimaya Elder version of cycling. A lower cost and a weaker body makes it more in line with what a Bird is, and what you'd like from a utility creature. In a multiplayer game, resolving the mill and picking a card to put on top from full graveyards might lead to long gameplay, so maybe limiting to only choosing from cards put into graveyards this way might make it a better play experience. But I'm a fan. { hydraheadhunter}This feels very powerful at 3 mana 1/5. I like that it fateseals based on the damage it deals, but that can become quite powerful very quickly. If you can Equip/Enchant it with some extra power, it can become very difficult for you opponent to do much against it. At 3 mana, a weaker body and a non-variable fateseal number (like 2) would be proper, I feel. It does lose the ability to interact with your own library. Maybe if it was something like Blizzard Specter, where you have a choose 1 of scy 2 or fateseal 2, that would be neat. {Winning}Winner is Flo00 with a design that kept the feel of the original mechanic, with a new twist added to it, and a good re-use of a mechanic from the old-frame era.
