Fermat: Oh my god, we've been talking at cross-purposes. I thought you were talking about my entry. I'm sorry I'm so stupid.

{Text} Uncontrolled Conditions Sorcery Flip a coin. If you win the flip, choose one. If you lose the flip, choose all four. • Create a 1/2 blue Weird creature token and a 2/1 red Weird creature token. • Draw two cards. • Uncontrolled Experiment deals 1 damage to each creature and each player. • Discard a card at random. Is it okay to use actual MTG art in these renders? It feels... weird.

in my experience, the two opinions on using canon art are "i don't care" and "don't do it", so it's probably not a good idea

Is it okay to use actual MTG art in these renders? It feels... weird. If you're going to do it, my recommendation is to use the here applicable basic transformations (crop, rotate, and flip) in combination with one or more basic (hue shift, illumination and dimnation, and saturation and desaturation) or advanced color shift techinques (of which there are many) to get the art to read as distinct to players at first glance. Using your card for demonstration purposes, zooming in on the electric man and boosting the contrast would probably give you a version of the piece that wouldn't clash too too much with the card already printed using that art. I would personally want to credit art changed in any substancial way beyond a combination of basic techiques as "Art by: [Original Artist] (modified for use)" or some similar tag, but my understanding of the rules is that only "Art by: [Original Artist]" would be technically necessary for this sites art accredation standards.
