"The next reason “bad” cards exist goes to the heart of what makes a trading card game tick." - Mark Rosewater, "When Cards Go Bad"Magic has had a history of laughably bad cards throughout the years: Rockstar Hits, where the sheer badness of the card transcends any context: Format Specialists, cards that do very well in one format while being bizarrely terrible or useless in others: Meme Creatures, more recent all stars that stand poised to last the test of time: and many more. A good portion of these cards have low Gatherer ratings and often cost pocket change to obtain. Your challenge is to make a deck that features one or more memorably bad cards that could still play well in your format of choice, be it Kamigawa Pauper Block Tiny Leaders, Draft, or or any other format. Good luck! Please remember: You're not allowed to vote for yourselves. |

(Standard)
{Comments} A Hatebears Human tribal Death and Taxes style deck that tries to indirectly mitigate Divine Gambit's issue by playing a large amount of cards like Containment Priest, Giant Killer, Sigrid, God Favored, and Lavabrink Venturer to invalidate the followup threat. This deck initially featured Hushbringer and Eidolon of Obstruction but I took them out for the benefit of being able to play Rally the Ranks which gives our deck a lot more clout as a regular white weenie deck. We essentially trade the raw power of a more straightforward white weenie deck for being able to have a large number of creatures that can double as removal, allowing us to switch into a more controlling matchup easily if needed. For budget version, replace 3x Drannith Magistrate (who's pretty much half the cost of the entire deck by himself) with 3x Seasoned Hallowblade. |

{Comments} The goal here is simple: have out two copies of Mirrodin Besieged, one on Mirran and one on Phyrexian. Then play Blood Funnel, and use all of our cantripping artifacts, artifact-based scry, and our artifact-based looters to fill our graveyard with artifacts, letting us win on our end step. |

I'm a pretty big fan of Bloody Eggs, tbh. Mirrodin Besieged feels like one of the many Modern Horizons cards that got quietly forgotten in the wake of more powerful things like Hogaak and Astrolabe and Blood Funnel is apparently one of the cards the random card button loves to throw at me but I've never really found an interesting use for. The deck puts both of them together in a very synergistic way that I'd actually like to try playing.

I actually had a "stronger" version that used Shimmer Myr + Cunning Nightbonder as a way to play out all of your artifacts without fear of counters. I ended up throwing that idea away because it was super inconsistent.
