This is going to be the thread where I keep all my experiments, potential mechanics, lore, and miscellania for Nessythia, a scottish-inspired industrialized plane with a hidden, magical past.
For the purpose of experimentation, I will be constructing a mini "test set", called Witch Hunt, to use to test some of the mechanics before they find their way into the final Nessythia set... which still doesn't have a name yet.

Here are some mechanics which will find their way to Nessythia: - Transform: It wouldn't be a hidden magic plane without transform. I'm using them primarily for cryptids in the set.
- Tribal: I know some people dislike tribal, but I personally enjoy it a lot. The one problem with Tribal is its lack of consistency, which I aim to fix simply by using it more often as a deciduous mechanic. Tribal does not return to this set just to exist, however...
- Weave [Creature Type]: Weave is a new keyword for Nessythia designed to be similar to Coalesce. Weave's reminder text is "If you control a [Creature Type] creature as you cast this spell, put it on the battlefield as a creature as it resolves." Weave appears on instants and sorceries and in all colors, but mainly
- Investigate: Investigate returns! It's extremely flavorful and creates artifact tokens, meaning it represents part of the human portion of the set.
Ideally, I would have one to two more mechanics, with at least one presumably representing the set's magitech humans.

Investigate and transform seem to be good fits for the set according to the setting you explained. Two questions regarding your mechanics: 1. How is the weave mechanic going to work exactly? Because the rules text of instants and sorceries are very different. Would you mind posting an example Card? 2. What do you mean by „magitech“ humans? Are they like magical artificers like on Kaladesh of more human-machine hybrids like on Esper?

Cornered by Fate Tribal Sorcery - Insect Horror Destroy target creature. Flying. Weave Insect (If you control an Insect as you cast Cornered by Fate, put it on the battlefield as a creature as it resolves.)
1/1 If you control an Insect as you cast this mothman-themed spell (like, ya know, another mothman), it gets put on the battlefield as a 1/1 Insect Horror flier. 2. Mainly Kaladesh, with some esper bleeding through on the edges. Should always have an industrial feel.

I see. So the sorcery's rules text Destroy target creature. is simply ignored when the card is a creature.
As for an mechanic for the magitech humans, I got two suggestions.
{Spoiler}
The flavor might not really fit your world but maybe you can use one of the mechanics.

Don't have many suggestions for now sorry, just a quick note: I'd suggest maybe using the Mutate template for your Weave cards to seperate the spell's from the creature's rules text.

I actually have thought of that. No idea how to get the mutate template working though. ameisenmeister Assimilate wouldn't fit, but Recombine goes on my now gigantic pile of maybes. Speaking of the maybes, here they are: - Energy counter variant. Discussed on the discord and would fit the set well. Maybe get it from saccing lands or something?
- Fabricate. Interesting mechanically, but there may not be enough support to make the servos worth it.
- Contract. This one is interesting. It could make for some interesting designs, but may be too complicated with both transform and weave.
- Recombine. Would probably be extremely niche.
- Futuristic. Flavorful, but is ever so slightly off....
- Sighting. Oh why does Cryptids of Beleron have to be so spot on with it's mechanics? Mysteries could also fit, but then it would be too much like Beleron.
- Modular. Maybe.
- Land-destruction fall. Depends on land saccing, which may play into the energy counter variant.
- Artifact nonpermanent spells. May appear as a one-off for weave.
Also, surveil is 100% in.

Just want to point out that land sacrifice mechanics are a very dangerous field to tread on. It's extremely easy to make fatal mistakes by just saccing one land more than you should have.

Well it made it into the set. Extract-- Whenever a land enters your graveyard from anywhere, ... EDIT: No longer part of the set.
