I'm currently working on a set that features a lot of land mechanics. Like Zendikar, but dialed up to 11. I thought it'd be fun to challenge myself, and make some gods that animate, much like the Theros ones, but this time off of a land. I'm still working on several things, but I thought a good mechanic to bring back for this would be awaken. Problem is, I want to put it on permanent cards instead of just instants/sorceries. I've been playing around with the formatting, and can make it appear on creatures, but I want it on noncreature artifacts. This is what I currently have as the keyword, and how it appears on the cards (also, idk the best way to format this on here. Sorry if this looks troublesome):
Keyword:
Instant/Sorcery:
Creature:
Ideally the creature code would be applied to artifacts instead of creatures, but permanents overall would be nice. I know the bit of code I need to replace is probably "if has_pt()" but idk what I should replace it with. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I have another, unrelated question, but hey, two birds and all, right? I came up with another keyword to allow the gods as commanders, even though they are lands. Basically just a cost as a keyword that allows you to cast them. I'm trying to balance it, but I can't decide what is wrong with it... The cards themselves are Legendary Land Creatures that have a cost (currently called Commune X [cost]) that you can cast them for. If you choose to cast it, great. You now have a land creature. If you don't, sacrifice X lands. But any number higher than 1 feels like too much. I don't want to bounce them either, because that could be worth it under the right circumstances (landfall). Anybody have any balancing ideas?
Keyword:
{if has_pt() then "When this card enters the battlefield, if you cast it" else "If you cast this spell"} {for_mana_costs(add:"for ", param2)}, {if has_pt() then "" else "also "}put {english_number_a(param1)} +1/+1 counter(s) on target land you control and it becomes a 0/0 Elemental creature with haste. It's still a land.
Awaken 2 (If you cast this spell for W, also put two +1/+1 counters on target land you control and it becomes a 0/0 Elemental creature with haste. It’s still a land.)
