Alright, I think it's time! sorsal Alright, Venz is pretty interesting. I'm a bit... meh that this introduced the trend of using exclusively hybrid for this challenge, but goldbrid fits well enough. Now... wow all of these abilities are in pie. I was a bit cautious with the +1 at first, but it is kind of Sorin, Solemn Visitor's plus with a sidegrade buff. Venz's -2 is really splashy looking, but it's wording is a bit off (A more proper wording could be "Return target Demon creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. You lose 3 life"), and it seems pretty weak, actually. At the same mana value, Lilliana, Death's Mastery could recur any creature with no lifeloss for a cost of -3, only one more than Venz's reanimate ability. Feel like it could be -1 or remove the demon restriction. Finally, that ultimate... honestly doesn't fit the rest of the card? I get the flavor, but it seems weird given the other two are about life and we're suddenly aristocrats, which is associated in almost none of the same colors, for the ult. It's honestly my least favorite part of the card. Daij_Djan I'm gonna start with my least favorite part of the card: I know that this card had a weird design history but... uncommon walker in a non-walker set. I feel like this card would be way cooler if it was upshifted in rarity and given more abilities. As for the card itself... I love everything about this. The static. The minus letting you ramp, draw cards, and get a body if you sac stuff. It's incredible! It's also why I want this to be a higher rarity walker: gimme more abilities to go with this. Also, art doesn't really fit Dierra's urban horror aesthetic but I'm willing to look past that on a planeswalker... for the most part. Sanfonier of the Night Alright... sorry but got some beef with Datchi. This has some interesting ideas... but I don't think it pulls them off. First off, the cost. I know you were trying to mimic that one SNC cycle, but this cost isn't right for that, since given how that cycle is layed out, it should be . Onto the abilities themselves, I'm glad someone made a Planeswalker with spawn. It's why I had the planeswalker version in the first place. However... I don't feel like Datchi does enough with spawn nor really fits in Probati's go wide plan. The zero is simply a + with no real additional effects given the real lack of counter synergies except for after spawn, in which case it essentially becomes a +9 PER TURN, and the -10... doesn't really fit the Probati like at all. I would know, since this is totally an ability Azolla, as the member of the GUR faction, would use! As for balance, the front for this seems very bad, but post spawn this seems terrifying since you can get the three copies into ult range in ONE TURN. lordpat Honestly surprised you didn't go for an Azolla since doppelganger is a modified version of your own mechanic. As for your actual entry, Sharlam is great! The static seems pretty strong, giving Sharlam a blocker every turn as a form of protection. Even without internal synergies, that is a great way to make ignoring him and just go for lethal not a good option... but then Sharlam has additional tricks! Sharlam's +1 would seem to have similar problems to Venz's -8 in terms of aristocrats not really being in RWB in Dierra... but, in contrast to his potential ally Sharlam's ability is clearly built with the rest of his abilities in mind. You can sac a token from Sharlam's static to his plus to practically draw a card for free, while discarding a card gives you stuff to use with his fantastic -X ability. The final part of his toolkit is another form of protection in the form of a rather cheap creature destruction effect... which also gives you a blocker. ...yeah lordpat wins.

Thanks for the win!
Design a three color planeswalker that has a static we haven't seen before.
So no "this card can be your commander" or "This can't be countered". But yes "Creatures you control get +1/+1."

While it does have a static ability that has already been used, it also has one that's new. This one is an old design that I felt worked well with Big Mana & Creature Copying.

Judging sorsal - Yune I don't love the static here, it punishes decks without flyers and gives the control deck a very efficient control tool. I could see this taxing non-flying attackers instead of not letting them attack this. I don't like the fact that the -X and +1 do something very similar in terms of gameplay, I can see the -X being replaced with card draw or something like that. The card will play very straightfoward, with no ultimate and the +1 and -X doing very similar things, I think it lacks some of the variety that makes planeswalkers intresting. It's an intresting concept though, I like having natural ways to detter attackers to planeswalkers. raphiezar - Telberin Intresting commander card, but I think it's trying a bit too hard to be different and as such the design has suffered. The -3 requiring a decent amount of mana to really go off, which means that a lot of times it will be a 6 mana clone, as the static is very slow. The 1 damage ping is probably unnecesary and the ultimate is a bit of a stretch for a card that will struggle to gain loyalty. The static could be worded in a more straightfoward way "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, it deals 1 damage to each opponent and put a loyalty counter on target planeswalker." I think the ult could probably be changed to a a 0 or something like that, the card already has the tool to go very much over the top. Flo00 - Phanu Loving the static, is pretty cool and unique. It's rough because you should be playing this in a lifegain deck, and in a deck like that not gaining the life might be a nonbo. I like the idea of the 0 a lot, but I the other two abilities fall flat for me. The -X is very much low impact and the ult is okay, but is starting to add up deckbuilding restrictions (you need a lifegain deck, you need to not gain that life to make this grow to 12 AND you have to have a big creature in your hand). I think they could be reworked here. Gaining life is difficutl enough that I think that the -X could be changed to something more impactful, and I think an ult could be changed by a solid minus. 4d20 - Aelina Exalted is awesome on a planeswalker, and that +1 is pretty reasonable, although I personally would go for a keyword instead + temporary boost, considering the exalted trigger will already make the creature bigger for the attack. The -2 is a cool idea, but a 1/1 is way too weak here, it should be a 2/1 or something like that. I get that maybe a 2/2 is a bit scary as it makes it so that you can attack with a 4/4 the next turn, but this feels too tame. Idea - Whisper The static is intresting, I'm not sure about it, it feels a bit too impactful affecting all players (it should also say "each" instead of "both" for multiplayer reasons), it can also randomly enter the battlefield with a couple of tokens and just kill the opponent on the spot. The +1 has minor wording problems (should be "one" instead of "1" both times), but is fairly good, it does synergize with the static and lets break parity. The -2 is a bit confusing, it being a 1/1 copy is going to confuse players with the static. I feel this ability should be something else, the card is complex enough as is. The ult I can't really get behind, it will slow down decks, it will probably punish you more than your opponent (you should be playing this in a deck with a lot of small creatures), it's just kind of a game stopper. Intresting entries, cool statics. 4d20 wins with Flo00 as runner-up.

Thank you! What a way to wake up.
Alright, next contest is design a Planeswalker that cares about a subtype!
Can be positive or negative, just has to interact with an established subtype. Doesn't have to be creature, any subtype is fair game.

Sarkhan, Time Reflection Legendary Planeswalker - Sarkhan Each Sarkhan planeswalker you control has “ : Target Dragon gets +2/+2 and gains trample until end of turn.” : Sarkhan, Time Reflection deals 1 damage to each non-Dragon creature and each non-Sarkhan planeswalker. : Put a flying counter on target creature you control. It becomes a 5/5 red Dragon creature in addtion to its other types and colors. : Draw five cards. You get an emblem with “You may cast Dragon spells and Sarkhan spells without paying their mana cost.” Let's assume Sarkhan's time traveling opened up some time rifts... which started spitting out different Sarkhans. And suddenly Sarkhan could team up with Sarkhan. Of course he also cares about Dragons.

Idea Aosi, Timeless Observer
In general, good card. Small gripe but missing an 'i' from Timeless. Definitely love the flavor and it's really easy to pick up the different 'time manipulation' effects with all three abilities. I like the +1, but it might need to be worded slightly differently? Combined with Aosi's static, you could use the +1 to +2 it instead, which I'm not sure is intentional or not. The mana cost is a little steep but, considering the -11 ability, it's more than justifiable.
The name paired with it not having a subtype is great, this needs to happen more in general. The +1 reminds me of the old thrull cards and I adore nostalgia. I get why the rats can't live, color-pie wise, but the rats dying is a little questionable in regards to the other abilities. The -4 is way powerful and repeatable especially since they'd be ran in a rat-based deck, obviously. I think the -8 could be cheaper, or make more rats, but as an ability I really like it. I'd like to stack multiples of the emblems
Don't get me wrong, I like the name (even if it did take me a moment to realize it), but not sure what relationship it has to allies? That doesn't dock any points, though. A planeswalker with a static that has a cost like this is really intriguing and opens up a lot of design space. With token doubling effects it could go infinite but that's not breaking anything new. I'm on the fence with it's rarity, could see it go either rare or mythic. Solid abilities all around.
Flo00 Sarkhan, Time Reflection
I'm a sucker for multiversal tropes already. The fact that it grants itself the +2 as well makes it a 4 ability planeswalker for 3 mana, so I'm a bit nervous about that. While the +1 ability isn't completely broken the fact that it's a repeatable +1 board ping might be a little strong. The -3 is good but in a dragon tribal deck wouldn't bring anything to the table, though it's great in limited. Would definitely cost it at over 3 mana in total.
All in all, fantastic cards. Would happily run any of them. I keep going back and forth about it, but I'd have to choose Idea as first with Jartis as runner-up. But really, none of these did poorly.

4d20 Yeah I was on the fence about the -4. The way I see it, he costs 5, and you'd have to have at least 4 rats out for it to be a one-sided board wipe maybe. And then he would have to +1 (assuming mono black) for another 4 turns to do it again, so it didn't actually strike me as too much. I'd also considered making the -8 create rats equal to the creatures toughness, but that felt like a bit too much, especially considering black has so many good sac outlets.

Thanks for the feedback 4d20. I guess I'l remove the and make the static "up to one target". That way I guess I can leave him at 3 mana. Congrats to Idea! Really fun static.

I felt it was a neat way to make the abilities synergize more directly and was one of the reasons why I put the ultimate so high at .
Thank you for the win 4d20 ! Alright, next challenge, partially inspired by Flo00 design on the previous one: Let's get a little taste of different timelines and make color-shifted planeswalkers. Specifically, the challenge is to make a planeswalker card in opposing colors to the original. Single color should move to an enemy color, shards or wedges should move to a shard of whose center is opposite to their own. For other combinations - or the absence- of color I'll leave how to shift to you. If a planeswalker does not have an iconic color and/or has many designs of different colors, I would ask you link the version you're basing it on. Lastly, bonus points for providing context into what the color shifted version is like, their story, why they are different, and how their outlook, tactics or even their magic is different. Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing what you make!

I don’t know if this was clever or accidentally clever, but since your planeswalkers have protection from all colors, including this one, you can’t target Ugin (or any planeswalker) with that ability

The trauma from the blood ritual that turned Sorin into a vampire also activated his spark, sending him hurtling through the vast multiverse. Finding himself in a foreign land, uncertain of how he arrived or why the very sun above him burned his skin like a funeral pyre, Sorin traveled this new found world, under heavy robes, in search of answers and a way home. As the days drew on, he found that even though his hunger grew no food could appease his appetite nor water quench his thirst. On the third night, A group of thugs attacked Sorin. In the commotion one of the men sprung a leak after meeting the wrong end of Sorin's sword. A droplet of the man's blood landed on Sorin's lips, the taste for a moment nearly sated his unbearable thirst but then sent him into a blood rage. After draining all four of his attackers, the hunger persisted but had become something more, an uncontrollable lust. He swept through the countryside, village to village, massacring their populaces, until finally subsiding at dawnbreak. Coming to his senses, Sorin is sent into throes of horror from what he had done. The experience, much like the ritual, rips open another portal into the multiverse and in his shame Sorin enters, leaving the world he broke behind him....Unbeknownst to him, some of those he feasted on gained a hunger of their own. Edgar Markov may have given birth to the thirst on Innistrad, but it was Sorin that gave it wings.

So this is a weird one.
To be honest, I have no explanation lorewise for my card, the idea is purely based on an old Shaman King quote (from chapter 226): "The cold will transform into true heat."
So how about turning Chandra into an ice mage?
Shifting her into blue I was able to keep her instant/sorcery/elemental subthemes. Then I paired this with blue's tapping / not untapping theme, using the -1/-1 counters (which blue very infrequently is allowed to use) to represent the "the cold burns" concept.
Really not sure about the balancing with that static ability, card would most lilely require a lot of playtesting.. Also the art is rather.. meh.. for obvious reasons.
