Yes, I am aware that WotC doesn't put "redirect/redirected" on cards any more, and has errata'd it off of the cards that used to have it. However, the term still exists in the rules, as per rule 614.9, and there's no better way to word the effect.

I begin judging now! Sorry for the delay. Flo00 - Laviosa (not leviosaah) This is a very simple W design, reminiscent to some of the gideon designs we've seen. The +1 is pretty good, but the -1 feels a bit weak, I think it could be until your next turn and maybe even give vigilance so that it has pseudo protection. The ultimate is cool, I think the wording is fine, but some of the suggestions do fit better. In general though, it doesn't strike me as a very intresting pw. gamma3 - Banvar Banvar feels too restricted for a 4 mana planeswalker. The -2 is by far his coolest abilty, but the +1 is very niche and will genreally not help a lot, and the -6 is also kind of weak, but the idea of having a hybrid ward cost is kind of cool. I think it's missing something to make it stand out more, I could see the -2 being a +1 and changing the -2 entierly. Reality Glitch - @ ? So, a pretty unique planeswalker, as it transforms into a creature and therefore cannot be attacked. It's a bit chaotic though, the -X is a bit weird, can this prevent damage to itself? Also, using X in the casting cost, the starting loyalty and the -X ability is pretty confusing. Honestly, I'd change the -X for something a bit more straightfoward. The flipside is cool, as it rewards you for keeping loyalty, but it still doesn't do very much, it's just a dragon. Maybe it can also get loyalty by hitting the opponent? I don't know what to think of this design, I can tell that there are a lot of ideas here but I am not sold on the card itself. kefke - Vimala Das I think this is great flavor, I love the idea of a martyr that doesn't want to be one, and "avoids" it (I assume that was what you were going for), it's a very BW ordeal if you ask me. I like that the +2 is kind of a drawback, but then again, unless you are in a very special scenario (your opponent has nothing going for them), you'll rarely use it. I think I would like it a lot more of it also gave you something else, like draining the opponent or something like that. But other than that, it's a very original take on a pw, one that you don't mind getting attacked.
Okay, judging's done and kefke wins with Vimala Das. Runner up Flo00.

Thanks for the win. For the next challenge, create a plainswalker that is not/doesn't reference a specific individual.

Inspired by my failed prediction for Dungeons and Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms
Spelljammer ::5:: Artifact Planeswalker — Vehicle ::rare:: ::SL2:: */* Spelljammer’s power and toughness are each equal to its loyalty. Indestructible ::+2::: Spelljammer gains crew 3 until your next turn. ::-1::: Roll the planar die.

Perplexing Figure Planeswalker - PAL : Discard a card, then draw a card. : Target creature gets +1/-1 until end of turn. : PAL becomes a copy of target planeswalker you control, except it's a PAL in addition to its other types and has this planeswalker's abilities.

All right, it's finally time for judging. viriss - Maybe I'm missing something in the lore, but I don't see anything particularly Kjeldoran about this artifact. It's interesting that it can work as counter-tech against other planeswalkers, or as a rescue for your own, but the other abilities seem a little odd for the concept. They don't completely clash with the concept, but they feel like stretching it to its limit, and while technically complimentary, they just seem a little awkward.
Reality Glitch - This is some interesting design. Forcing crew into a loyalty ability means having to choose between using the vehicle as a vehicle, or planeswalking, which is cool. Unfortunately, it's slightly marred by only having one other planeswalker ability, and one tied to a particular variant ruleset, at that. That said, it has a pretty tight design, with everything tying in to its central concept, and a free roll on the planar die per turn would be a compelling, but not too strong, reason to run them in their intended format. I'd worry a little about the growth curve on P/T, but the fact that it can be attacked, and you have to give up a potential defender to use it as a creature, probably balances that out.
foureyesisafish - I'm not sure if I can properly judge this one. Without a render to give context, and with the planeswalker type of "PAL", I certainly am perplexed. I just can't properly visualize the concept here. That said, the first two abilities don't seem bad. Perhaps underwhelming, if anything. The final ability, though...it's indefinite, and the wording seems like that could let you just endlessly add more abilities on. Really cool, but also sounds like a bookkeeping nightmare. The winner is Reality Glitch.

Shoot! I forgot to make something for this contest! Possibly still too strong with multiples, but I think the random discard helps tone it down somewhat.

@daij_djan I'd put the reminder text after the first mention of mystic, rather than the second.

No chaos effect? Probably for the better TBH as it means less rules need to be picked up on the fly when playing with it

Probably for the better TBH as it means less rules need to be picked up on the fly when playing with it It is what ZephyrPhantom said, I will just correct a thing, the part where it's exiled makes little sense since it is a planeswalker, so I will remove it. The idea is to bring the battle of mages to an especific a plane.

Whoops! Now I’m the one who forgot! kefke: Awaken’d Mage does feel like it should be a legendary planeswalker card since a) Wizards of the Coast has yet to set the precedent of nonlegendary planeswalkers, b) we aren’t talking in the context of a fan set the utilizes it as a set mechanic, and c) even with the random discard, that is insane card-filtering/deck-thinning in multiples. Also dock’d points for the nonloyalty ability increasing loyalty (which really should be worded “Whenever you cast […], put a loyalty counter on [this plneswalker].) ZephyrPhantom: Animara's Echo feels underpower’d due to its nonloyalty ability not functioning from the battlefield. Even with that option, my prediction is that, nine times out of ten, players would rather wait for the first to expire, then play the next one. This would actually benefit from being nonlegendary. viriss: Dimitris, Swarm Caller, I actually like (aside from the name, which sounds much more like ab Insect-token generator). In isolation, it’s a side grade of Ojutai’s Summons: creating two 2/2 fliers. However, giving that 2 extra power to more those two tokens pushes the card enough thatbit should cost at least as much as the rebound sorcery, maybe even 2UUU or 4UU. @daij_Djan: I was worried about the seven starting loyalty, but the mana value of 5 and gold, rather than hybrid, makes it seem less scary. Still a little concern’d about how easy it might be to get those tokens, even with the mana only working for sorcery-speed spells. Also, more a nit-pick than a critique, but why aren’t Mystic creatures/tribals mystic? I also agree with gamma3 about the reminder text. @ymonrah: I do like the concept. I initially thought it it would be too much for uncommon, but, thinking about it, it’s like having a static and trigger’d ability that can be removed without removing the card. Problem is, it you want’d to use a plane instead of an aura token, I’d have gone all-in on it being a planechase-exclusive and make it more mechanically like the other plane cards. As-is, my only gripes are a) templating (“Spirits enter the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter.” which should say “Spirit creatures” unless you intended Wings of Velis Vel to also get the counter, “When a player planeswalk to [this plane, <effect>].”, and “When this permanent enters the battlefield, planeswalk to Old Kamigawa.”), b) the card name and planar type being identicle, c) the plane effectively making Kasaki have a loyalty, a static, and a trigger’d, instead of just two of the three, and d) most importantly, the loyalty ability being + rather than a -, as it doesn’t create as interesting a gameplay loop, without the limit’d resource, since, after a certain point, the number of counters is irrelevant. In my opinion, Daij_Djan’s Daria is the best design.

Reality Glitch That's...intentional? I was deliberately going for a PW that felt more like a flexible charm. I feel like you also missed that the Channel is instant speed and much harder to counter. I agree the effects themselves are underpowered after reviewing Master Decoy but not with the reasoning on how it would end up played. Being nonlegendary would also defeat the point of drawing the player's attention towards Channel.

Weird; it wouldn’t let me mention @daij_Djan and @ymonrah. You need to use the user's original username. You get that by hovering over their username or by klicking it. So for Daij_Djan you need to write @ daijdjan and for Sanfonier of the Night you need to write @ominividrus. There is a quite new hint to this at the end of the Planeswalker's Guide to Posting Syntax.

Yeah, the starting loyalty is something that would require quite some playtesting I assume. I decided to put it rather high since at CMC5 it'd not be very easy to get the trigger going that same turn even with the additional mana, but I might totally be wrong. Mystics weren't included since I completely forgot about them - but even if I had remembered them I'm not sure I'd have included them since they are an unsupported tribe anyway.. Oh, and definitely agree with gamma3 as well concerning the reminder text. If I were to redo the render, I'd shift it to the first ability too.
New challenge will be up tomorrow as I honestly can't think of something right now

So here we go! As you all know, Magic planeswalkers come from many different races - but with the exception of the dragon bros most of them are at least of human-like size. I do like designing some smaller or bigger ones from time to time - so that's what you'll do this time as well!
