Adelyn cajun WindyDelcarlo Lettie's mood becomes worse with every planestep of Brayden's that she follows. Had quite a stroll, didn't he? Eventually, she stops properly checking the destination of the aether trail, so when she finally reaches Brayden, she appears in plain view and right next to him, in a plume of fumes smelling of gall, bile, and rot. As soon as she realizes what has happened, she looks utterly mortified. Then she sees Seiva and Zero, and steps back, reflexively covering her mouth with one hand, and she turns practically white. Worst of all, for all her rehearsals, she'd already forgotten her first line. She holds the stance, uncomfortably silent.

From a plume of blue smoke near the base appears Brayden and Zero, "Seiva! Are you there? I brought someone that could use your help!"
//If someone does come by they see Brayden's bandaged right arm, which looks inhuman, with his hand tipped with three pointed claws. Looks like he forgot to put his cloak back on... One of the woman's arms hangs lazily from her, the other clutches a sword too big for one hand. Zero's eyes dart around the encampment. [Magical readings: twenty point nine three six zero percent. Rift density at four point one nine six zero zero percent. Elsewhere [ERROR: Unassigned variable] at eleven point six nine zero three percent.] She was surrounded by signs of Elsewhere. She held her sword defensively, but knowing how bad the squirrels had been even with her size advantage, opted for a more diplomatic approach.
"What manner of sorcery is this?" she demanded. "Who here is brash enough to toy with the powers of Elsewhere?" // Seiva is, in fact, present. When Brayden calls her, Seiva stands up from her seat on the ground next to a wall. She has a clipboard in one hand, a pen in the other, and is overlooking the "someone" with utmost curiosity.
She seems like a person made out of technology? How can I even try to help her? Logic processing, maybe? "Hi Mis-- sorry, just Henry." Her arm's not working. Do we have a technician? "Kaira," I quietly say to myself. "She can't do logic processing though, so maybe..."
"What manner of sorcery is this? Who here is brash enough to toy with the powers of Elsewhere?"
Ooh, I can do that. Such an interesting voice, I wonder how that's being made. "I'm uniquely capable of answering that! But first I should probably introduce myself." I put my pen hand on my chest and bow to the technology woman. "My name is Seiva Zeni, I'm the head advisor of the Eternity Project for Interplanar Cooperation. The technology we use here is all aetheric. It all uses elemental energy to do things pretending to be spells, and we use aether to make it. The really big important one is over... there..."
// Seiva motions in the general direction of the tunnel.
"That's called an aether tunnel. It, and a similar but better one in Entela, uses a massive amount of energy to channel away the aether in the blind eternities so we can send a teleportation spell through it without killing the people we send through. This thing, my transciever, can do the same thing on a tiny scale so I can contact people on Entela. I need to do that to try to help here, but if you have more questions while I'm doing that, I'll be happy to answer them."Hi, do we have access to a logic processor that isn't a kid?
They're all busy
Figured. Do we have access to one that /is/ a kid?
I can send Hannah probably. She knows a bit; Need her for something?
Need her to fix a thing that none of us can.

"Not- this is not alright! Where swo- where did Experiment Zero get a sword? Why does she have arm- an arm back now? Why is it some- only now that she's getting 'some fixes'? I can think of several fixes should- she should have gotten before receiving any other help, such as for those voices she hears, the fact that she fights squirrels, or what she thinks are squirrels, and the fact that she looks for weapons when she clearly can't identify friends and foes, and is obviously missing crucial memories! You're... arming a broken machine!"Abusive Tutor Sorcery Target player discards their hand, then searches their library for up to one card and puts it into their hand. That player shuffles their library. No matter the intended subject, the poor students are always taught the same lessons.
Hannah, Logic Processor — It's neat that this can copy your own spells, and I think it would be the primary use of it. However, this means you can also infinitely loop your own spells, since you can change the targets, and also get cards for it at the termination. Whoops. 6/10

Threat level six. Mark. Zero's eye was drawn to the pointing hand for a split second. "I have always had this sword," she says calmly. She looks around to the small experimenter and smaller planeswalker. She was much less of a threat with her blade out of danger. "If it upsets you, I believe it is safe enough to go without it." A rift opens by her side and the sword disappears into it, followed by the rift itself. Karina flinches, as though a bright light had just been flashed in her eyes, then recovers.
Confident that this action would satisfy them both, she looks to Hannah. "I am named Experiment Zero. I will allow this workstation, so long as the small experimenter is the only one... processing." Instant If target players has no cards in hand, they draw seven cards. Otherwise, they draw a card.

"Once she's set up, I can talk you through whatever you're here for."// As Seiva is about to continue, a young child with slightly-darker-than-blonde hair runs from the general direction of the tunnel. She's wearing what looks like it's supposed to be a blue lab coat, though it seems slightly too large for her, and she's stuffed as many small aether canisters into its pockets as she was able to. She starts talking to Seiva, leaving little space between her words for anyone to interrupt her and likely continuing to talk over anyone who tries. Behind her is another, slightly smaller young child, following in her footsteps. In her hands is a massively oversized spear."Miss Seiva! I'm here again! Mister Estova's somewhere nearby, right? Master Sara told me he could set up the logic workshop, uh..." Karina's eyes lock onto the mechanical woman with the droopy arm. She instinctively places herself between the woman and Hannah. As a result, Hannah seems to finally notice the group. "Oh, it's a party over here! Hi, you're probably Miss Lettie, right? I helped handle your aethertech order! Uh, you're..." Hannah looks at Brayden as though she had a name at once point but lost it. She turns further to the mechanical woman, thinking about how to ask Karina about it while introducing herself. "And you're why I'm here, right? My name's Hannah Delcarlo-Nisita, I'm apparently the best logic processor we have around, so I'm gonna be doing... some fixes, I guess? Is something wrong, Karina?"There's a brief pause. "I've seen her here before."
// Seiva raises an eyebrow and twists her hand in the air, though there's no magic or seemingly any other reason for her to do so. Estova also finally turns up."Oh, huh. I can do my job from here. If something happens, you can protect me, okay?" Hannah looks up to connect her eyes with the mechanical lady. "Miss whoever, I'm going to ask Mister Estova to set up a Logic Processor Workstation for me, since I can't do that spell on my own yet, okay?"Hannah, Logic Processor Legendary Creature - Human Wizard Whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability, you may copy it unless its controller pays 2 and you may choose new targets for the copy. Now, snapcaster is quite good altogether, but the temporary aspect of this really hurts it, as you're three mana down, with a two colour requirement. Cajun already pointed it out as well, but the card should be exiled in impulse as well. The one thing it does have over snapcaster is the fact that the card goes back, and that it also fixes, which should at least be good for taking cards out of an opposed grave, something neither of the above can do. If it must be temporary, I'd make it impulse at UR, and even then the utility is kind of questionable outside of spell recurring spell combos. 7/10

When did Lettie meet Zero? Squirrels? he thinks to himself.
As Lettie finishes her rant about Zero, Brayden steps in between Lettie and Zero. "Please calm down Lettie, I brought Zero here to EPIC to see if they can figure out what's causing the voices and see if they can fix the other glitches in her system, and the sword-" he says before being interrupted by zero."-like Zero said, they already had the sword, I couldn't even imagine giving out weapons all willy-nilly. And, As an artificer, I couldn't stand to leave Zero is such disrepair, so I made them an arm. However, it was... Incompatible. So it just hangs by their side." Lettie jabs the accusing finger and held vial uncomfortably close to Brayden's face. "Made her- them an arm, so that they could strangle you with it! When I met Zero, they were approaching me to ask for weapons, which I refused, and when I proved to them that they were in too great disrepair to fight or understand... anything, the first thing they did was wonder if you were the one who damaged them! ...They didn't have the arm then, so somehow, they saw fit to receive an arm from you, before the actual problem had been fixed, and after I told them in no uncertain terms that would be the most important problem to fix!" Lettie leans to look past Brayden, and is disappointed to see that Hannah's already in a trance state. She calls out to Karina, which is a bit loud for Brayden, who stands right in front of her. "If anything, I'd have taken off both arms before putting your fingers in the cogs of a broken machine that seeks weapons and battle! Disarmed them completely!" Lettie's Charm Instant Choose one — • Each player sacrifices a creature. • Target player sacrifices an artifact or enchantment. • Exile target card from a graveyard. Draw a card. Lettie is choosing mode 3 in response to Process Tutelage's cast. Process Tutelage — Considerably worse than snapcaster, and in terms of spells recurring spells, even mystic retrieval would be preferable, in my opinion (though it is sorcery, but snapcaster is not.) Now, snapcaster is quite good altogether, but the temporary aspect of this really hurts it, as you're three mana down, with a two colour requirement. 7/10 As Lettie finishes, in a louder tone than before but not shouting, Brayden says, "Zero was abandoned, damaged and confused. They were simply trying to survive in a cruel world that cast them to the side. And, I was the one who convinced them, they were the reluctant one in that exchange. However, I refused to allow anyone to be left helpless and alone in such condition." As he finishes his normally calm and collected expression turns into a scowl of anger, "If you dare do anything to harm Zero, I will stop you!"Government Resistance: I like it, its like a mix of a traditional counterspell and a red threaten effect 9/10 Voltaic Blast Instant Improvise Voltaic Blast deals X damage to any target.

// Seiva points lightly to herself, then to Karina. She then points off behind her in some direction twice, then finally to Lettie, before supplying Lettie with her best smile.
"Miss Lettie, you don't need to be too worried about her attacking anyone here. If she tries to hurt Hannah, there's going to be five different people ready to take her down. Until then, though, it's probably best that we don't startle Hannah out of her workstation. That'd be bad." Government Resistance Instant Exile target spell. At the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast that spell, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to do so. (Exile Lettie's Charm, upkeep use Lettie's Charm on edict mode to take out the Whelp.) Karina tenses up and moves her spear at Lettie's words, but at Seiva's stays put. She's noticeably trembling now.
"I... was... wrong." Zero's voice comes out slower than before as Hannah ties up her processing. "Small.... experi... menter... helping... find... other... wrongs." Sorcery As an additional cost to cast this spell, pay X life. Put the top X cards of your library into your graveyard, then return an artifact card, an instant card, and/or a sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand. As Lettie finishes, in a louder tone than before but not shouting, Brayden says, "Zero was abandoned, damaged and confused. They were simply trying to survive in a cruel world that cast them to the side. And, I was the one who convinced them, they were the reluctant one in that exchange. However, I refused to allow anyone to be left helpless and alone in such condition." As he finishes his normally calm and collected expression turns into a scowl of anger, "If you dare do anything to harm Zero, I will stop you!"Voltaic Blast Instant Improvise Voltaic Blast deals X damage to any target. When Karina decides to stay put, Lettie heeds Seiva's words and slowly lowers her hand, putting the vial back on her belt. Brayden's raised voice draws her attention meanwhile, and Lettie gets the sense that his words are rattling and ringing in her ears. Her snarl turns to an expression of contempt and confusion. Then comes the scowl, creasing Brayden's mouth, narrowing his eyes. Lettie tries to look past him, but feels something turn over in her stomache, and her chest tenses.
"If you dare do anything to harm Zero, I will stop you!"
Lettie bursts out cackling, each one louder than the last, until the last one seems to drown everything out for a moment. There was still so much energy squirming within her, like the walking shadow's first fretful moments upon the stage.
"I... was... wrong. Small.... experi... menter... helping... find... other... wrongs."
It was all coming back now, her rehearsals. Lettie holds a hand to her face for a second, and when she lets it fall, her expression has been replaced by one of concern. "Brayden, earlier today, a planeswalking construct named Experiment Zero demanded that I give her weapons- she did not have that sword with her then- and when I proved to her that she had suffered significant damage to her memory and reasoning, she had first blamed it on you. Though I hoped she would heed my advice to have that damage repaired first, I sought you out to warn you." Lettie brings up a potion flask to about chest height. "I also brought some more of Michi's previous order, in case you needed it." The recitation ends with an insincere smile, which then turns into a sneer. Lettie gestures at Brayden's exposed arm. "...In fact, you might need some right... now." She makes a sound like a combination of choking and cackling. "You have no idea have- how lucky you are to... have convinced them. Let us hope your rewa- your reckless naivete is rewarded... by that little engineer wrong- righting every wrong, and finding that... the threat is not by Zero's inten...-ded design."Insincere Tutor Sorcery Search target opponent's library for up to four cards, exile them, then that player searches their library for a card and puts it into their hand. That player shuffles their library. Government Resistance — A bit less convenient than spells like Redirect and Aethersnatch, but this costs a fair bit less than Aethersnatch, so it seems quite fair. It's good gold as well, with countering from blue and fixing from red, and both stealing. 10/10

// Hannah listens to x1 through x5 in order, only stopping if something other than the expected sound file happens. {accessing x1.mod….} //Zero suddenly begins speaking, oblivious to everyone around her. While her voice is still slightly metallic, it is now very human, the gruff voice of an older man.
“Well, here it is. The combat skills have proved quite effective, and it has displayed some ability to learn.” There is a whirring sound. “It isn’t foolproof, of course, but it’s definitely progress.”
Her voice changes, sounding similar to Henry’s voice, but with a different accent. “I’ve seen it in action, the speed, the reflexes, simply marvelous, I've never seen anything like it in a machine. Your creatures…”
“Creatures of Elsewhere,” the other voice replies.
“Yes, yes, Elsewhere, I don’t see how they stand a chance, other than sheer numbers… I'm not sure what you even expect me to do, I should be asking you for help, surely.”
The other man sighs. “Android, identify.” A mess of sounds spills forth from Zero for several seconds before suddenly stopping. “It is a marvel, yes. But it terrifies them. They don’t want a machine." "They want an angel.”
{accessing x2.mod….} “Ooh, hold on there… there you are. How are you feeling now?” There is a stream of gibberish sounds until the file abruptly ends. {accessing x3.mod….} “Alright, how are you feeling now?”
“I am.” Zero says in her usual voice.
“Ha-hey! Get in here and see what we’ve got!” There are faint sounds of footsteps. “Android, identify.”
“This unit is known as Prototype-Angel-Class.”
“That name has got to go.”
“It’s a work in progress, just stick with me. Prototye-Angel-Class?”
“Yes?”
“Could you play test.mod for me?”
“Certainly. Accessing test.mod… …. …. You hate the name, don’t you,” her voice changes. “But which of us got the robot to talk, huh?”
The man laughs for a bit, then the audio abruptly stops. {accessing x4.mod....} “Heeey, Proto, you’re back! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Someone seems to have cleared some of your files, but no worries, I made backups, ha!”
“Permissions scanning. Access denied.”
“Ha, funny, funny, Proto. Now come on, I’ve finally got that synth-skin you’ve been dreaming of! You’ll look—”
“Unsupervised visitors are not allowed in the laboratories!” Zero yells. “Remove yourself or I will be forced to!”
“Proto?” {accessing x5.mod….} There is the sound of heavy footsteps against stone, then a creak of metal on metal. “This unit is known as Prototype Zero.” Her voice grows more static-y as she modulates a modulated voice. “You hate the name, don’t you,” her voice changes. “But which of us got the robot to talk, huh?”
I'm so sorry, Proto, a voice says to Zero and Hannah.

Lettie only looks down her nose at the extended hand, and says nothing until Brayden takes the inhibitor potion. "You're welcome, you brute. Now let me listen to Zero herself." Then she looks down and closes her eyes. It's a shame that I don't have any paper with me at the moment. Guess I'll need to make this count.“I’ve seen it in action, the speed, the reflexes, simply marvelous, I've never seen anything like it in a machine. Your creatures…”Lettie quickly and quietly repeats each of the phrases to herself aloud after they're spoken. So she's fast. I'm going to need a different plan for when next we meet.“Yes, yes, Elsewhere, I don’t see how they stand a chance, other than sheer numbers… I'm not sure what you even expect me to do, I should be asking you for help, surely.”"Original purpose seems to be combat." Lettie quietly notes to Brayden, though her eyes remain closed.“Alright, how are you feeling now?”This must be one of the creators of the machine. Lettie is curling and pressing some of her fingers against each other, while others are rigid and sticking out of the tangle at odd angles.“Could you play test.mod for me?” “Certainly. Accessing test.mod… …. …. You hate the name, don’t you,” her voice changes. “But which of us got the robot to talk, huh?”This is as though we are listening to memories themselves, and memories are recalled within the memories themselves. This is a machine, so they must have been intentionally recorded. But why are only these recorded? Lettie's brow furrows.“Heeey, Proto, you’re back! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Someone seems to have cleared some of your files, but no worries, I made backups, ha!” “Permissions scanning. Access denied.” “Ha, funny, funny, Proto. Now come on, I’ve finally got that synth-skin you’ve been dreaming of! You’ll look—” “Unsupervised visitors are not allowed in the laboratories!” Zero yells. “Remove yourself or I will be forced to!”“Proto?”Lettie opens her eyes, speaking slowly and haltingly. "Large pieces of memory were missing, when we spoke. The prototype couldn't even remember the... name of their home plane. That was by either accident or sabotage, and the... creator was not allowed the chance to... right that wrong. So why do they allow the little engineer to delve into... the cogwork now? Perhaps they were res...isting the engineer just now? ...Are those backup files still... stored somewhere?" "You're welcome, you brute. Now let me listen to Zero herself.""Well, okay then..." he says before putting his arm to his side, "I guess I'll take that as a yes..." he says to himself before moving over to Seiva, "Sorry about that Seiva, lets just say me and Lettie don't really agree on lot of things, but I need Lettie for this." he says before lightly shaking the potion to draw Seiva's attention to the contents, "Its for my right arm, its a long story I'd rather not get into... So, How's Hannah holding up?"Overflow: Seems like the natural progression of effects like twincast 9/10 Goblin Judge Creature - Goblin Artificer You may choose not to untap Goblin Judge during your untap step. : Gain control of target artifact for as long as you control Goblin Judge and Goblin Judge remains tapped. 2/2

"She's fine. She's burning a lot of internal energy. I tap my transceiver to show Henry her internal energy levels. Mostly constant, Thought getting lower over time. It's about average right now, since I just fixed that. "I'm trying to keep her energy above point-six so it goes back to one-two every time, and Varei is getting some energy condensed so we can pull her out of overchannel if that happens."I bet this card could be mono-blue. Lettie draws close to Zero as soon as Brayden leaves her, and tries waiting for more files to play. For a moment, she thinks she hears the man's voice again, but it's only Brayden sounding astounded at something Seiva said.
Lettie feels compelled to state what she considers obvious. "Our summons are pulled from the aether. It's not completely inconceivable, though I wonder what it would imply about volarians if they were just like summoned creatures. ...Despite the aether expenditure, the little engineer seems to be continuing, and the prototype is... allowing her..." Another moment of thought, and something occurs to Lettie. "How did you convince a machine to permit help when they had resisted one of their creators so ve...hemently? It is a neat response though. 8/10

It was like another memory, though it was only... the prototype's usual voice then." "Well, the mechanism around the summon spell is very different to anything related to Volarians. They're more like simple copies that vanish after a while. As to how I figured out how to convince Zero, I made a mutually beneficial deal with them; If they'd let me make them an arm for them, there would've been two outcomes to it: If it works, great! If it doesn't, I'll just lead them back to where I left them. But then EPIC got mentioned, and they looked mildly interested, so I figured, why not? So I guided them here, after my not so successful attempt. And also the fact I sounded familiar to them might've influenced them, although I'm not sure.""Oh, Volaria's a pretty low concentration of aether. Relatively high compared to Dominaria; Normally on Dominaria the amount of aether in the atmosphere at any time is statistically negligible. Which is good because aether is basically poison to Dominarian life. As to why Zero agreed, I'm not sure. Maybe they were just desperate to find someone fix them, so they simply allowed it to happen."When Brayden hears the comments on Karina by Hannah, he lets out a small chuckle, "You two Lovebirds?" he says while a warm smile crosses his face, "So, Hannah, what did you find in Zero?"
