"Well, I, uh," Rel chuckles, "Know not to piss ya off, for one. Heard it went poorly for the last folks to try it. I'm not totally religious, but, the Church of Solari really likes talking about ya. Got sent on a trip to Agahia and it's apparently a religious hotspot because of the whole Blessed Children thing. Historical site around some 'sanctuary' place where the future Saints first set up on the plane. Nature protection thingy around the veista at the Technocracy's capital, things like that. Ya know, supposedly ya saved the entire population of Volaria, but -- Iunno 'bout you, but that sounds to me like somethin' they said to make their Saints sound better. That's a lotta people to save all at once."
I wonder how quickly an Enchantress deck can win the game by drawing cards with this. They probably need the help anyways, so you're good on that front. 9/10Rehabitation ZoneLand : Add . : Add one mana of any color. Put Rehabitation Zone on the top or bottom of your library.

Karina's jaw dropped as Rel rattled through thing after thing no one should be able to know like it was old history. The Sanctuary on Agahia, saving Volaria, did that mean it would work? And Children, there was only one person that could be... right? He wasn't just from a different time, but from way further than anyone else she'd met here.

It's the Arena, time is weird. And... and you're not supposed to play with it. Would it be too dangerous to find out more. Was it too dangerous already?!

Stunned Silence deals 3 damage to any target. That player or that permanent's controller can't cast spells this turn.
lesson learned, if i ever get stalled out on how to proceed, its cause that's what the character is doing just roll with it Rehabitation Zone - hrm, not the most fun land to have around. its okay as like a desperate fixing thing but not sure where this has a home outside of like, a weird mill protection engine. 7/10

"Uh..." Rel waves a hand. "Hello? Ya okay there?" If that doesn't get any response, Rel proceeds to knock on the relay again, hoping that'll help.I feel like this is quite a bit better than 2-damage burn spell deserves to be. One of the biggest problems with Silence is that it usually doesn't progress your game plan, which prevents it from being used effectively in decks. In the hands of a tempo deck this represents an entire turn and either a removal spell or more damage on their face, in a control deck it can both answer a threat and prevent them from developing any more until you're ready, etc. 7/10

WindyDelcarlo Along the winding coast of some corner of the Arena, there was the occasional settlements, lone occupants, and more impressively, standing structures of weathered stone. The lattermost were the most peculiar, their bygone constructors nowhere in sight, and with little history to name them, they often blended into the background, as did most of the oddities of this plane. Except for those, who might find more value from them than mere sightseeing. At once such monument along Rel's path along the shore, a gang of zombified pirates were currently scrabbling through its remains. Tools haphazardly digging into earth, stones scratched at, and anything else that could possible unveil some pittance of wealth from this dilapidated structure. {Attack Card - Kadris Forerunner} Kadri’s Forerunner Creature - Zombie Pirate Blue and black creature spells you cast cost less to cast. Whenever a blue or black creature enters the battlefield under your control, each opponent loses 1 life. When the vanguard arrives, it’s too late to run away.[2/2]

"Yeah, 's my thought too. Never seen natural aethersteel before, we have to manufacture that stuff normally. Did the calibrations, made sure it wasn't picking up this hunk a' junk, still got a reading. No similar readings anywhere else though, so I bet it's just dust or something. Explosions can do that, maybe they buried conduits or somethin', hard to tell. Who knows, maybe they start mining the copper 'r iron and there really is aethersteel here, that'd be great."Pile Up is a fun spell for someone like Rel to try to work with. As Rel returned from his day at 'work' -- at the current moment, surveying resources and strategically viable positions -- he found that his makeshift wall was being placed under the harshest scrutiny from a very adorable blonde-haired woman in a white dress. He had made it out of wood from nearby downed trees and a deposit of scrap metal that was in the woods. The metal looked almost like it had been blasted with a tenebrite grenade, and there should be none of those on this plane yet. It was tied together with what amounted to duct tape and fishing wire, and was realistically only standing because it was being supported by a single heavy kinetic turret and some snowbanks.
This was about the expected response from the amazing Haia Kenei that designed such marvels as the Iksi Collective Archive. He was almost embarassed to put up such walls knowing that she might come see, but these were going to be much too important. Now, Haia was standing with crossed arms staring at the wood as if it has insulted her personally. If she had any backbone to stand up to a personal insult, which Rel wasn't even confident in after their last conversation.
Apparently, Rel's crunchy footsteps gave him away, as Haia's gaze immediately shifted to him for a few moments. She went back to wordlessly staring at the wall in even less time than it took her to notice him.
"You like it?" Rel asked with a chuckle.
"I... I have concerns about the materials."
"That all? Guess I must be doing pretty well, then! What brings you here?"
"Seiva asked that I come talk to you. To... 'practice'... talking to people.
"Yeah? You got something you want to talk about?"
"Uh... Mm..." And there was that embarassed architect that Rel was excited to see. "Mmm... Maybe, uh... how much do you know about me? Am... am I really that well known...?"
"To anyone that studies anything, yeah. Story say you're pretty good at what you do. Which, I mean..." Rel made a large exaggerated motion to the glass structure that he was currently residing in, barely visible over the top of the much worse wall. "Better idea. How about you tell me about you?"
"M-me? I-I'm not really that interesting..."
"I gotta hard time believing that. But 'kay, how about I ask you about, hm..." Rel started to make his way back to the main outpost, which Haia quickly followed. When he saw the outpost again, it reminded him of a question he did have. "Why's the wall glass?"
"O-oh! It's..." Haia stepped forward a bit and turned to face the outpost. She took a deep breath. "It's common for stores in Litara to have large glass windows so that people can see in and shopkeepers can stay out. I thought it would be important to be able to see outside. It, also represents transparency. We're doing something really important and... people outside Entela don't really get it. In Litara I was mostly told stories about the bad things Entela did, the wars they started, and Entela was kinda quiet about all of it..."
"That doesn't really sound like something that a government agent would be saying," Rel noted.
"Well... Master Sara kind of changed that. She's been doing her best to tell everyone else about what Entela is doing, and... The last war, at least, that one wasn't Entela's fault. But, when I lived in Litara, I wasn't taught that, I was only taught that Entela declared war against our allies and we weren't taught about why. We're trying to make sure everything we do is known and shared with everyone, so that doesn't... happen again."
Rel chuckled. "The interior metal represent something too?"
Haia shook her head and, Rel caught, continued to face to outpost when he thought she might turn back. "N-no, it's just to separate rooms off. The aethersteel is really hard to break, and the silvery shimmer captures the... Entelan aesthetics, and it can be a little bit of color mixed into the quartz."
"Guess even the government needs its privacy, huh? Seiva ever tell you that thing?"
"I, uh... yeah... I guess you know all about it."
"I know a bit, yeah. It's one of the more important historical moments, so I got what I could, but knowing more about it would be for someone that studies planar dynamics. Don't worry too much, it's out of your lifespan."
"Seiva said that too. To just... focus on now and let her and Master Sara worry about it."
"Smart people, them. Don't worry about crap you can't control. You're an architect -- and a damn good one -- so let them figure the logistics out.
"Why do you... think I'm not supposed to tell anyone?"
"Well, I'd say based on historical accounts, people suck at not worrying about things they can't control. Pretty sure Master Sara's on record somewhere saying she was concerned people might try to take things into their own hands when Entela had things handled."
"I... guess that makes a bit of sense. Do you have... anything like that?"
"Stuff to worry about? Totally. But in the middle of all that I've figured time to talk to a cute architect, so it's been a pretty decent distraction." Haia seemed to try to hide her face further. "Speaking of, something wrong? You've been facing away from me basically the whole time."
"O-oh, sorry, I, uh, I'm not... very good at talking to people." Haia started to turn, stopped, seemed to start, stopped again, and finally just made the entire 180 at once. Her face was almost as red as a tomato, which Rel decided was probably not the result of the cold. Her eyes connected with his once through her glasses, and then never again as she tried to avoid looking up. "I-I try to pretend I'm talking to myself, and it sometimes works, but... Seiva said it probably wasn't... An efffffective solution."
Rel chuckled. "Those sound like words that girl'd use. That why you're here?"
"Mm-hm... Seiva... wanted me to practice talking. With you. Don't know why."
"Hm." Rel tried his very hardest to prevent himself from laughing. "Well, tell you what. I'll always make time to talk with you. Can be about anything you want, I'm not super picky. Maybe next time we talk about flowers or somethin'. Sound good.
"I-I, um..." Somehow, her face got even redder, and she had another very brief moment of eye contact before looking away again. "I-I'll be looking forward to it. I'll try to talk better. I..."
"Make your own pace, girl. Haia? You cool if I call you that?" Rapid nods came from the architect. "Cool, feel free to call me Rel, it'll make everything better. I'm not exactly goin' anywhere any time soon, so if you wanna take your time gettin' used to talkin' to me, that's totally cool. You cold? Inside's a lot warmer."
Haia shook her head. "I... should probably get back anyways. And... let Seiva know everything's okay."
"Sounds good, I'll try to be less of an embarrassment next time." Rel tossed a look at the wall he had made. "Maybe next time you'll be able to stick a bit longer. Think that'd be fun."
"I-I-I..." Haia started to try that sentence again, but eventually Rel could tell she just gave up. "I'll be back... In a couple days, probably."
"And I'll be waiting!

A few weapons are drawn with such silence—and then one makes a mortifying snapping and scraping sound as only half a bronze sword is pulled from its scabbard. What remains is covered in a horrid green and white substance that has eaten through its former center. Another sword, iron, is so rusted that it can not be drawn at all. What had once been diseases constrained to the weapons Wormwood had "gifted" to the corpses have, in the interceding time, spread throughout the crew's tools. About half of the gang's weapons, at least those that are of bronze or iron, along with any copper or tin equipment, are at advanced stages of degradation, and practically useless. This is not to say that half a rusted sword is harmless, but it's far less useful against a competent opponent.
//The nature of the infection is revealed: Lettie planted weapons infected with various oxidizing and allotropic diseases on the corpses that Kadri brought on board. Some of these allotropes have alchemical components in order to hasten their spread, but even if the magic were dispelled, this is still an insidious mundane chemical process that is difficult to stop and in some cases impossible to reverse (such as with bronze disease).
Enchantment Creatures your opponents control get -1/-0. , Sacrifice an artifact: Each opponent loses 2 life. Assisting defense. I don't think I rate when I do this, but recent rule shakeups might have changed it.

Always diplomacy before violence. "Sup? Could ya maybe go elsewhere?"Feels a bit weird for UB to be globally reducing your on-color creatures rather than specifically caring about a tribe. Unsure about the balance on it, though. 7/10
Arghivin Diplomat Creature - Human Advisor , : Tap target creature. You gain 1 life. 1/2 No attacky. They might not be much for small talk, but it's worth a shot. There's a slight pause in the movement of the zombies at the perimeter of the excavation, the rear guard slowly pivoting their heads towards the source of the intrusion, nary a sound as they looked for, observed, and identified Rel in the short distance away. With a lack of noise quieter than the death they were denied, the zombie gang began to pull out their weapons and approach the would-be diplomat, an obvious threat if there was one. { Attack Card - Corpse Exhumer} Corpse Exhumer Creature - Zombie Wizard Deathtouch Whenever Corpse Exhumer becomes untapped, return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand. None are better suited to dig up the dead than their former peers in death.[2/2] test For the explorer, however, someone else's machinations might be his saving grace in this hour of conflict... Arghivan Diplomat: A bit more stally than usual tappers get, this being uncommon helps a bit, but it's still annoying. 7/10, for that issue, since I like the flavor and the multi-faceted way of answering my own card.
And competent he is. While Rel's filigree knife was unusual when he first got it, he's now put enough practice in to get a real understanding of its weight. When the zombies begin to approach -- and the first ones attempt and fail to draw real weapons -- he unsheathes his knife with as much flair as he can afford and readies himself to strike the oncoming force, beginning with the first one that comes into his reach.Corpse Exhumer is a lot of card advantage. Maybe more than should be on a 3-mana uncommon. 6/10 Filigree Dagger Artifact - Equipment Creatures blocking or blocked by equipped creature get -1/-1. Equipped creature gets +1/+1. Equip Functionally removing DT from the creature with help from diseased armaments means it becomes very blockable.

WindyDelcarlo testThere was a brief disconnect between the perceived orders, attack and kill, and the lack of an implement to execute those orders, before the approaching zombies attempted to maul the surveyor anyway. The zombies at the dig site were likewise faced with a sudden lack of tools to continue their scrabbling. Unlike their sentries, however, the assorted gang began to shuffle off from the dig site, leaving the half a dozen unarmed undead to fend off the intruder, while the rest made way for a series of long boats on the shore. They likely wouldn't get far, on their own. {Response Card - Pernicious Retreat} Pernicious Retreat Instant Choose one or both — • Return target creature you control to your hand. • Each player sacrifices a creature. Fools merely cower. The clever leave something behind. Filigree Dagger: Cool knife. 8/10 for a unique combat advantage. Diseased Armaments: 8/10. Modern design means enchantment pieces like these stick out and are kind of weird. Hidden Stockpile comes to mind, but this on its own feels like a weird piece. I do like it as a response though, even if it's just...weird.

"Right, which one of ya's next?" Rel flipped his knife and dared them to come closer, or to turn and run. Either option was fine by him.

WindyDelcarloThe remaining attackers easily are sliced into a second death, unarmed and unwilling to retreat. The remaining zombies quickly row out of site, likely to some place to reconnoiter with the rest of their crew, wherever that may be. For now though, they were gone, and whatever affliction this small band had suffered, it was likely the main host was as well... Unmatched Militant: Weird. 8/10, this design is neat and I have no real balance concerns or impressions about it.

And then it was gone.
A few seconds later, a faint A A A A A A A could be heard some distance away.
"Uhhhhh, I should probably look into that. Maybe I'll see you around again?"
Karina collects her things and runs off after the strange device. Aether Residue - hm i suspect this get a bit more of a push, but its probably alright somewhere that {C} costs matter. tokens are confused on their name tho. 8/10

Late one evening, a traveler arrives on the outskirts of the old research facility, surrounded by a thick cloud of smoky black fog.The traveler is a black-clad elf, with footsteps so light as to barely be heard. They appear to be surveying the building, perhaps searching for someone or something.Clan Sil Maré Spy Creature - Frog Rogue When ~ enters the battlefield, target player reveals X cards from their hand, where X is the number of land cards in your graveyard. Choose one of those cards. They discard it. 2/1 The outpost is 'surrounded' -- not well, but technically -- by a wall made with bits of wood and scrap metal. One tower with a device on top of it, possibly recognizable as a turret, serves to seemingly support the entire structure. A small, dimly glowing coil of some kind of wire indicates that it is receiving power from somewhere, but the source of said power is entirely invisible. If it was meant to detect motion, it failed to do so, and the spy is entirely undetected. Gaps in the wall left by poor craftsmanship mean that whatever was supposed to be protected is clearly not protected. While the exterior of the outpost itself is very cold -- and so too are most of the internal hallways, as evidenced by the complete lack of condensation on the glass walls -- one segment of the wall is met with the cloudiness of water vapor. Light diffracts off the glass, making attempts to look in from the outside futile without touching the glass or entering the complex itself.
