Judging! melono: While this is flavorful, this is an incredibly do-nothing card and has no value in pretty much any format. If it costed more and gave some benefit, maybe it would be more interesting. Tesagk: Don’t know how “Word” is supposed to be the name of the spell, and none of the effects on the card feel like there’s any cohesion or theme other than “things that white and blue can do for low amounts of mana.” It really didn’t need the first part, it could have just been the last two abilities, or the abilities could have cared about those tapped creatures. Daij_Djan: This is a really flavorful way to do a Pacifism effect, but it’s a lot weaker than most Pacifism effects are, as blocking with a bigger creature only serves to make the game longer. viriss: Is “artifact source” something a card can care about? If so, this is a really cool, yet wordy, way of getting rid of an artifact. gluestick248: Love the idea, flavor is on point, power level is on point, and I honestly can’t find a bad thing about this card. Our winner is gluestick248, with Daij_Djan as runner up. Thanks all!

Thanks so much gateways7 for the win! For the next challenge, design a common that’s inspired by a rare or mythic. Good luck!

Thinking about changing this one to: Arclight Hatchling Creature - Phoenix Flying, haste At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you've cast three or more red instant and sorcery spells this turn, return ~ from your graveyard to the battlefield. 2/1

Blessing of the Fox Instant Choose one — • Target permanent you control gains protection from white until end of turn. • Target spell or permanent becomes white until end of turn. Entwine (Choose both if you pay the entwine cost.)Inspired by Eight-and-a-Half-Tails

Judging time! Tesagk and Arclight Hatchling {Spoiler}This still reads like the original Arclight, except it comes down turn 2. I wouldn’t be surprised if this (minus the hybrid) showed up in the design files before the final tweaks, but sadly doesn’t really fit the challenge. viriss and First Order Angel {Spoiler}This fits right in with the other common Angels. One small quibble I have is that you didn’t play up Avacyn in the name too (and I think the First Order is tied to Serra), but besides that it would fit in any core set. gateways7 and Hand of the Black Rose {Spoiler}First off, I think this is a Littleton aggressively costed for the monarch, especially at common. However, I do like the synergy of attacking the monarch, especially since they need 3 blockers to keep the crown. Very reminiscent of the Queen. Flo00 and Blessing of the Fox {Spoiler}I see what you did there with the cost. The thing is you’ve made a 3-mana one-shot protection from one permanent, unless you’re playing against white. 8.5T’s ability is strong because it’s repeatable, and this doesn’t quite get there. Winner {Spoiler} drumroll...{Spoiler} viriss! Congratulations!

Oh. Yeah, maybe I should have noticed how long it'd been since the challenge was given. Anywho... Give me a colorshifted version of one of the uncommon legends from Dominaria. Bonus points if you explain the lore of why they're a different color.

Kwende, Prideful Duelist Legendary Creature - Human Warrior Intimidate Creatures you control with deathtouch have intimidate 3/3 ---- Color-shifted version of Kwende, Pride of Femeref. Tried to find something with relevant text (e.g. deathtouch) and turn it into something logical.

Valduk, Keeper of Grudges Legendary Creature - Human Shaman At the beginning of combat on your turn, if there's a monoblack creature card in your graveyard, create a 3/1 red Elemental creature token with trample and haste. Then repeat this process for monored and black and red. At the beginning of the next end step, exile those tokens. 1/4
what if Valduk but in Garna's xenophobic posse instead. plays into black's defensive side as a mirror

Wow, forgot this for a bit. Let's choose a winner, shall we? Daij_Djan : Menace instead of lifelink was nice, and auras/equips at instant speed was nice. Forgot a comma after "during combat", though. thegoldenscarab : I actually think this is more flavorful the the actual Kwende. Good job. fluffydeathbringer : "Monoblack" isn't actually a game term, but since the closest the actual wording would be "A monocolored black [whatever]", I'll forgive it because otherwise that would get rather wordy rather quickly. Also, it's odd that while the first two care that your card is exactly and exactly , the last one doesn't care if it's not exactly . gluestick248 : Eh, I suppose I could ding you for only giving Whisper a second color rather than colorshifting her, but it's no big deal. It is on how she apparently stopped being Human to become an Artificer. Are you sure you wouldn't make it a Human Artificer instead? And if you want to show they're all cyborg-y, the best way to do that is to make them an artifact creature. Really good for what it does, though. I'd gladly trade a pair of Food and/or Clue tokens for Blightsteel Colossus. Winner is thegoldenscarab ! Normal Kwende giving first strikers double strike made their original ability superfluous, but this feels flavorful and isn't just a straight upgrade. Daij_Djan is second and fluffydeathbringer is third.

Wicked Seer Creature — Human Warlock When Wicked Seer enters the battlefield, fateseal 2 and you lose 2 life. (To fateseal 2, look at the top two cards of an opponent’s library, then put any number of them on the bottom of that player’s library and the rest on top in any order.)1/1

viriss: {Spoiler}I feel like this has the same problem that Goblin Chainwhirler had, in where it looks hard to cast, but really isn't. I really think that the rampage puts it over the top. I could maybe see this a a rare, but it being uncommon really pushes it for me. Majicallah:{Spoiler}This also seems strong for the mana cost, and I don't understand why it has flash and flying. I do see the flavour for fabricate though, and applaud you for that Gluestick: {Spoiler}Once again strong for the mana cost, but I can see this being reasonable with maybe an increase in cost, since fateseal is really strong{Once again strong for the mana cost, but I can see this being reasonable with maybe an increase in cost, since fateseal is really strong} Melono: {Spoiler}Really well designed, best case scenario is its a 5/4 with flying, and pretty well costed for the effect.Really well designed, best case scenario is its a 5/4 with flying, and pretty well costed for the effect. tesagk: {Spoiler} Really good, absorb seems like an interesting mechanic, and still gets hit by most direct damage.
AND THE WINNER IS: {Spoiler}MELONO!!! The card is probably the most 'uncommon' of them and is well costed for the effect, and the use of the keyword is strong
