Happy new year everyone!
I want to start 2020 with a new design challenge game that has been floating around in my head for a long time now. Let me tell you.
Playing Magic is great fun but there are other games, of course, that are also fun. As a dedicated Magic player I find myself again and again thinking about how to implement the rules, characters or features of other games into Magic. And not only with games but also when I watch movies I'm often thinking about which colors a particular character would be in mtg terms or which mechanic would fit best the fantastic worlds on the screen.
If you read that far and thought 'Hey, that's what I do too!' then be welcomed to the new Crossover Game!
The rules are simple. Issue two games and/or movies that are at least somewhat well-known and give additional restrictions if you like to. Then the contestants choose one (or both) of the two topics and design a card to it. After a week or so, you choose the winner who then has the privilege to issue the next two games/movies. When designing a card, feel free to use artwork of any kind. I personally don't mind screenshots from the game or movie either. As we're not R&D, we can use the original names of characters or concepts and don't have to come up with magic-ey changed names.
So after this lenghty introduction, let's get started! Your first two topics to choose from are the game(s) Bioshock 1 & 2 and the movie Avatar. I'm positive that everyone knows at least one of the two topics so let's get going!
