Hello Everyone!
I just recently started messing around with MSE and mostly it's been a great time. Some elements of it can feel daunting at first, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm starting to make a DOTA 2 themed set, the goal is to have all of the heroes as cards, but that is a ways away.
I have a few things that I am struggling with at the moment. One is the phrasing of a keyword, and the other more technical issue being I'm not entirely sure what commands or code are available for me to use.
Here is the keyword:
Shapeshift <param>(Whenever this creature transforms into (insert creature name here), put {english_number_a(param1)} time counter(s) on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, transform it.)
My two questions are: 1. is there any way to make this shorter/sweeter? 2. Is there any way to make the reminder text automatically put in the name of the card?
Also if anyone has a better name for the keyword than Shapeshift be my guest.
Thanks!

remove a time counter from it*
I don't think you can make this shorter, unfortunately. If you want the reminder text to be automatically inserted in the oracle textbox you should add this in the keywords file that you can find in the data/magic.mse-game folder.

You could do a couple of two keywords, one for each side of the card. One would say Shapeshift <number> <condition> (Put {english_number_a(param1)} time counter(s) on ~ and transform it.) The other one would say Shapeshifted (At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter from ~. When the last is removed, transform it.). I don't know if it's a good idea to do it this way, though.

I'll have to try it to see how it looks, thanks for the idea.

I think you can make this shorter:
(Put # time counter(s) on this as it transforms. At the beginning of your upkeep, transform it unless you remove a time counter from it.)
This is functionally a little different? But I think it works.

It gives the player the ability to choose to transform early, which I'm not entirely sure if I want that or not, but definitely something to think about.
