"Apparently the 7CI knows about it, but it didn't have a knife before. It has some kind of Thought magic, reading memories and distracting and stuff.""Got it, this seems kinda important for us too. No one but combat casters engage a book with a knife. I'll see if anyone else's seen this book."// If there's nothing else, Hannah gives Karina a quick hug before she gets up to locate Karina's clothes."I wouldn't mind it if you died less often, yeah." Oh, right, she had these pajamas. I'm done crying right? She's okay. I walk back over and sit with her clothes next to Karina. "Are you feeling a bit better? And, like, do you know what healed you? I definitely didn't do that." "As long as I don't think," I wince and groan, "think about it, it's better."
"And, I don't know." I try to think back without thinking of the KNIFE. "I tried to use Reyhsia's spell, but there was too much," BLOOD. I breathe for a minute. "I tried to planeswalk, and, and you were the only thing I could focus on. "Sorry you had to see this."
Wait, there was... "There was another thing. Another girl? I heard her here. Said, 'I can't let you die on her', I think? and then..." I close my eyes and wince again. The spell in the wound. "There was some kind of spell after that. I couldn't like, feel it. How it worked. Just that it was there."Unshaking Faith Instant This spell can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control. Target creature gets +3/+3 and gains lifelink until end of turn. "As long as you're done dying, I don't care what I have to see.""I, uh... I didn't see another girl. Just you." What am I supposed to be doing? Should I be helping her change? Cleaning the blood? I'm kinda blushing thinking of doing either of those things. This isn't the time for blushing.// Hannah looks at Karina with a focused stare."Would you be okay if I move you? I want to make sure nothing bad happens to you, so we should do what the healer said. Clean you up and get you into clothes that aren't covered in blood, right?"I like Unshaking Faith a lot. I was going to dock it for being too strong and then remembered I frequently underpower my combat tricks. 9/10 Blind to Divinity Instant Target permanent can't be the target of spells or abilities this turn. I can feel the heat in my face, and can't help but smile. Karina, please, I'm trying to figure out how to help you. I guess if this helps, though, I'm not gonna try to stop it. How do I...? Oh, I have a cloth in the bathroom. And I have one of those aetherglass containers, I could put water in that! Great. "I'll be right back with water to get you cleaned up, okay? I've got clothes here for you."I rush around and back as quickly as I can. Warm water, right? I get back to Karina's side as fast as I can. I might have to fill this again. "Okay, I'm here. I've got some water. If I start to hurt you, let me know and I'll stop, okay?"I can feel myself blush again as I help Karina out of her clothes and clean the blood off of her. Why am I blushing like this? I have more important things to be doing, like making sure everything's clean and I'm not hurting her more. This wound looks like it hurt a lot. I guess I don't need to question that, that was dumb, Karina's clearly not liking it. Okay, I'll get her cleaned, clothed... and then maybe I can stop blushing so much.
Does it work better if I look up at her smile instead of down at what I'm doing? No, not really. That just made me want to kiss her, but I'm busy right now. ... okay, maybe I can kiss her. I lean over to do that before I go back to cleaning everything up. There's so much here. I don't think I've ever seen this much blood not... in someone.I like blurt out a lot. 10/10 Embarrassing Position Sorcery Tap each creature you don't control. Then Blinding Pain deals damage to enchanted creature equal to its power unless it's controller has it deal that much damage to them. After a few more attempts and a lot of help from Hannah, we get me up. I try to watch her. Keeps my mind off the pain. Especially since she's still red in the face for some reason. I try to smile as she looks up to me. She leans in and, for one blessed second, the pain melts away as we kiss. Once she breaks away, it settles back in, though not as sharp as before.
Finally, the way-too-much blood is dealt with, and I'm in the pajamas. I smile at her. "You feeling alright?" I weakly laugh, "Your face has been lit up since forever."

WindyDelcarlo — Aether Conversion Loop: A nice capstone for the Conduit archetype, although I'm concerned about where you're getting enough energy to actually power these things given how fast they blow through it. I agree that it has to be rare in context. 9/10"I've never heard of elemental energy; we've got a couple of ways of measuring, but the one that's easiest to explain is against gravity. If you dedicate all the power output to lifting things, how much can it lift? So for example, the Kraken 7 I sketched generates enough energy to lift about ten million kilos to a height of—" Nadejda waves a hand just below her chest. "—about that high, once every second, ignoring any power losses in whatever your lifting mechanism is. That's, hm, about the mass of a hundred and fifty thousand people. Anyhow, that's not quite the biggest we've got, just the biggest portable one—I do vehicles and armor, not civil engineering, so I don't have the specs of the ones we use to power the cities off the top of my head. Not more than twice as big as the Kraken, though, and I think they're smaller than that."Kraken Tokamak Artifact When Kraken Tokamak enters the battlefield, choose a basic land type. cyberchronometer "Hm... so I don't know quite how much there is from just the energy of the system. We typically measure the core output by measuring its internal energy and fracturing it across the output valves, since we don't make a habit of turning into electricity on our end. That's usually down the line. The biggest... safe output we can get is roughly half of what we get if we blow it up? Which we had to do once, about... 16 years ago? Since without blowing up we couldn't gather enough energy fast enough to not die."That output pushed against a spell that destroyed Entela for about half a minute before the spell decayed away. We gathered that over... oh, five seconds, and lost a whole lot of it? I was a kid when that happened, we just had to study it carefully in our core engineering classes. Default running rate's about a tenth of that."
This is definitely getting in a good number of EDH decks. Probably first and foremost mono-green, which is hilarious to think about Nissa going "you know what this forest needs? A massive reactor." 10/10 Core Overflow Sorcery Destroy target artifact. Close to a thousand times what the Kraken-7 puts out, if I got the math right. Now, judging by that diagram it's a lot more unwieldy than our reactors—I don't know if it's possible to build a mech large enough to haul that thing around, or thirsty enough you'd want it to. Say, why don't I stop by again once I've got a proper workshop set up here, and we can do a bit of tech trading?"WindyDelcarlo — Core Overflow: Brutal and flavorful, especially in EDH, the only format that exists—I could see Daretti packing a copy. // As the woman observes the outpost, there are two noticeable buildings. One is carved from slate stone, and appears to be a house of some variety. People come and go from it, carrying with them various books, mechanical parts, and other implements. In its near proximity are two approximately two-and-a-half-meter tall cylinders of glass reinforced by a lightly blue-tinted metal. One of them is completely sealed, has more metal towards the bottom, and is sat on the ground, glimmering a bright golden light with some kind of intense magic. The other has a roughly doorway-sized shape and sits atop a metal platform with stairs leading up to it, with a heavy-looking metal cap on it. A numerous amount of pipes and devices connect the two cylinders.// Nearby, a blond-haired woman stands over a drafting table, looking up at a grid of blue lights that look like they could one day become walls. A section of this enclosure has a hole being dug into it by a muscular looking man, almost cleanly cutting off the outside dirt from the inside, and some kind of magical scaffolding covers the hole, as noted by a female worker that crosses it without falling in. In many corners of this perimeter, marble pillars have been erected, and a number of wooden and metal tables, desks, furnishings, and devices have been set aside. At one point within the perimeter of walls, a tall man stands working on a large four-meter-tall cylindrical outline of metal. Various parts are scattered around his feet as he magically lifts, moves, and places them down again. The area beneath him is filled in with carved white quartz tiling.// An elf and an older child sit together, the elf looking exhausted and the child writing something in a notebook. A dark haired girl is reading a book while sitting at one of the outside desks. A moderately-sized man in a blue light jacket pokes the transceiver on his wrist that they all seem to have, while saying something about aether storage. No one seems to notice the woman.(Here's what the outpost is up to nowadays.) Cards will become drawn and maybe eventually someone casts a real spell. 8/10 Busy Preparation Enchantment If you would draw a card, instead draw two cards, then exile a card from your hand. , Discard a card: You may play cards exiled by Busy Preparation this turn.

If you have this and wipe the board, suddenly you just start killing lands or their big threats over and over. Definitely want it to say nonland. 6.5/10 Connectivity Conduit Artifact - Conduit When Connectivity Conduit enters the battlefield, you get . , : You get . (Throwing a super low cost permanent that makes immediate value and hoping you have something bigger because otherwise I don't have anything I can throw at this effectively.

"Well, naturally cooperation means more. It's the hope that eventually we can produce a network of communication between planes, so maybe we might be able to foster bonds between planes that enable us to help them or them to help each other. It just, starts at being able to talk to them." A smile appears on her face. "Interesting. I think we may be able to help each other out. You see, I myself assist a similar organization, but we are always so short of hands. There are never enough planeswalkers to go around."
"But, it sounds as though you have found a solution to that problem?"A Beautiful PartnershipSchemeWhen you set this scheme in motion, each opponent discards a card. Exile up to two of those cards. Until your next turn, you may play those cards without paying their mana costs. Connectivity Conduit - bit unfortunate all it does is energy but sure. 7/10

"Mm... none of us are planeswalkers, but we have the ability to get between here and Entela. It's not a hard process to set up, if you actually study circuitry, but requires an aether technician to fix issues."A Beautiful Partnership seems like a fun card on both ends. 9/10 Aether Bound Enchantment Players can't pay alternative or additional costs.

"And how many people could one move around, in say, a day?"
"You see, there is a plane known as Elbryn on the brink of collapse. We've done all we can, but we cannot save it. But, if you've found yourself a portable source of interplanar travel, perhaps we can still save its inhabitants?" Flee Your Impending DoomOngoing SchemeAt the beginning of your end step, put a doom counter on Flee Your Impending Doom, then each player returns a permanent they control to their owner's hands. Then if Flee Your Impending Doom has three or more doom counters on it, destroy all nonland permanents and abandon this scheme. Aether Bound - i like this effect more on a hatebear body. perhaps this can cantrip on an enchant? 8/10

"With a full elemental core we could move upwards of... maybe a thousand a day? Estova and Seiva would know better than I would. But those take a long time to set up and I can't really make the decision to help with that. You'd have to talk to Seiva about it. But I'm sure she would want to help if we can."I like this scheme, a lot. 10/10 Resist Change Instant If a permanent you control would be destroyed this turn, instead exile it, then return it to the battlefield under its owners control.

Marvelous. Elbryn is rather small among the Multiverse, if we start that soon, we may be able to evacuate the whole population, perhaps preserve some of the wildlife as well."
"There remains the question of where to move them... we hadn't expected an evacuation to even be possible. Perhaps the best would be to bring them to our plane of Laptew?"
"In any case, I'd like to talk with this Seiva. Work out arrangements and payments and the like."Go Down In HistorySchemeSearch your library and/or graveyard for a legendary permanent card. If you control six or more lands, put it onto the battlefield, and it gains haste and indestructible. Otherwise, put that card into your hand. Shuffle your library. Resist Change - seems correct given Ghostway 9/10

cajun "Uh... Yeah, let me contact her."// Leira pokes her transceiver to contact Seiva.// Seiva arrives about 20 minutes later, chewing on a green vegetable stick of some kind."Hi." This woman looks a lot like Arina. Was she familiar otherwise too? She doesn't seem like she should be that familiar, but maybe I've talked to her before? "Have we met before? I was told you had something about saving a world you wanted to discuss.// Seiva looks at Leira and taps a few words into her transceiver. Leira checks her own transceiver, then takes her book and goes somewhere else.I like this one. Fits name and isn't just dumb early. 9/10 The Elbryn Evacuation Legendary Enchantment - Development Whenever a player develops The Elbryn Evacuation, each player who's developed The Elbryn Evacuation may exile a permanent they control until The Elbryn Evacuation leaves the battlefield. When The Elbryn Evacuation has 6 development counters on it, destroy all permanents. Develop 6--
