Hi, I'm shiftyhomunculus! You may know me from Reddit, where I post under the same name. I also answer to Shifty, SH, or any abbreviation you can think of. I'm a Global Moderator here, meaning I'm responsible for answering questions about the site, enforcing the rules, and generally making sure everything runs cleanly and smoothly. I live in a wet cardboard box somewhere in the UK. I've been designing custom Magic cards for about four years on and off, though I've been good at it for far less than that. My completed projects on the old forum include the large set Stratopol (old and very rusty) and the miniature Commander project 27 Shades of Villainy (much better), and I'm currently working on a Constructed-oriented small set, Magnificent Tales. I'm generally better at one-off designs, though, so expect to see plenty of me in Card of the Week threads and forum games. In canonical Magic, I play mostly draft, Pauper, and an assortment of terrible gimmicky Commander decks. (My current project is "None More Black", a deck led by Kiku, Night's Flower in which each card's mana cost can only include black symbols.) Outside that, I'm an amateur writer, editor and proofreader, and I enjoy history, board games, tabletop RPGs, and riffing on bad media of every stripe. |

Esia~ I'm Windy or Wind, self-proclaimed in Izzet colors, Global Moderator, and the bearer of far too many disciplines. Among other things, I write music and stories, and play many video and table-top games in an attempt to become as perfect as possible at basically everything. Most of my card designs fit into a large story centered on the world of Volaria (in fact, esia is Volarian for "hi"). They usually stick to sets, but every once in a  moon I do individual designs for other reasons. My favorite way to play Magic is Spells-Tempo, casting spells like Snap, Young Pyromancer, Mizzium Mortars and making things very painful. Hey folks, I'm ZephyrPhantom. Previously I was a designer that experimented with breaking the boundaries of MtG design as much as possible with sets like Revolution of Delkor. I'm really busy these days with school so I don't have a lot of time for Magic (if anyone remembers Fate of Averlos, I'm hoping to get those last few chapters and a Sealed session out this summer, which is when I tend to be a lot more active.) You might remember me as the creator of Battle Boards, which has been ported over and is awaiting fresh blood and trial by combat through design. If you ever feel like starting an RPG campaign based on card design gimmicks, it's the perfect place to go. Non-designer wise I've participated in a few FNMs here and there, and am involved in an online playgroup with a small group of friends I've met from various gaming communities that rotates between Limited, Standard, Modern, and Commander (and at this rate, Brawl). I typically run a rather rough Queen Marchesa deck that I still play out of nostalgia or a much more competent Zuo Ci, the Mocking Sage that's a fairly straightfoward goodstuff deck. CanterburyEgg here, site admin. You used to know me as Marioware2 but that username was a throwaway from my Runescape days. Time to ascend to greater things.
If you know me from my sets, it's for one of two reasons:
a) You saw Goliaths of Nangjiao/Surging Tide and thought "wow, what a poorly researched rendition of Chinese culture."
b) You saw Glacia and thought "I see what he was going for, but yikes."
(Or, you're Sakon and are still reliving the glory days of Heir to Delacroix.)
Well fear not, my friends. There are bigger and better things on the horizon.
When I'm not making custom rectangles for hours on end, I'm watching baseball or playing tabletop games - likely at the same time. I also enjoy a good cryptic crossword and slaughtering the masses in GTA. I'm a man of many dimensions.

Ok well, this is exciting. Name's HonchkrowDavid, probably better known on MSE as ThisisSakon. Yep that's right, I'm killing the name. Sakon's dead. 2018 new year new me. Same me? idk. I've been a designer for a long, long, long time and Yakizma, Xoltan, The Golden Era, ACC, and even more are all my fault. I make templates, sort of. Really good at booster packs and card frames so I hear. Terrible about story spoilers. Glad to see the little community move to a much better home. Here's to better days~ |

Hey-o!! Gamma3, formerly known on the old site as Mr. Madness, self-proclaimed Bant color identity. Joined ages ago cuz it seemed like fun, then disappeared for a few years, then suddenly showed up this winter and *gasps* actually got involved in the community. It started with a battle board, then some crazy shite and failed cotw attempts, then one cotw successful enough to actually win, but I got briefly pulled away from the forums by school and couldn't provide a challenge. *single tear* Anywho, I'm finally starting to work on an actual set instead of just random ideas, (yes, I actually have a set file on my laptop called "Random Ideas") so we'll see how that turns out whenever I get around to finishing it.
IRL, I play magic, (shitty commander and modern decks, I'm not made of money) yugioh, (I have a love-hate relationship with link monsters, mostly play tier 2.5-3 cheapo decks) Dominion, (I own almost everything for it) Chaotic, (at one point I was going to try to fix/update the old chaotic templates, may or may not get back to that at some point, would probably have to start over from scratch with how much of a mess and inflexible the existing ones are) D&D (both as DM and player) and a bunch of other stuff. I look forward to a new beginning!

Hello, everyone, or as I say in my Let's Plays, salvete, omnes. I'm TheMartianGeek, sometimes known as imamelia or Amileia Kazeirassaida in places. My favorite set/block is Return to Ravnica, my favorite plane is Kaladesh, and my favorite planeswalkers (as characters) are Narset, Tamiyo, and Saheeli. I like multifaceted synergistic decks, but I've built and played a variety of stuff: generic creature-based decks, tokens, spells, quirky gimmick decks, enchantments, tribal, counter synergy, and even a combo deck or two. I have yet to finish a custom set, but I'd like to do so and already have characters, stories, planes, and cards for them.
Beyond that, I have a longstanding love for all things related to language and science, I write stories and books (when I have the motivation), compose and arrange music, play and mod video games, play tabletop and board games of various kinds, read, and spend time with family and friends.

Hello folks. My handle's Amechra, and I've made some custom cards. I don't play Magic too much anymore (some bad experiences have left a nasty taste in my mouth), but I do enjoy the design aspects. My first set was OG Mirrodin, but I have a fondness for Lorwyn/Shadowmoor.
Outside of Magic, I'm a fan of mathematics, spec fic, and roleplaying games (I've actually got a published book - I'm not exactly proud of it, but it exists). So if you need someone to divide by zero or discuss the finer points of esoteric design, I've got an open PM box.

I've been using MSE for a long time now, since 2012 at least, and I love just toying around with ideas for Magic. Notable Magic things I've done with friends include: Built a Mono-Red Cube, Worked on coming up with a Multiplayer Magic Variant, and run Spell Slinger Events at my LGS.

Hi, I'm CyberChronometer, or Cyber or Cy if you like abbreviating things. I have an unfortunately large number of partially-finished projects, but my only released set is Magic Umezawas, a core-ish set that I'll link when I finish porting over the showcase thread. While I'm more of an RPG designer than a CCG designer, I hope to have more CCG work up here in the future.
In WotC's Magic, I play mostly limited and French/Duel Commander (Wydwen the Biting Gale control), but occasionally dabble in Modern (WU Emeria Titan) and Pauper (UR Delver). In MSE Modern 2.0, I play a lot of Seto San control decks, and sometimes other decks as well.

And the new dawn arrives! I'm Touhoufanatic (or just Tou if you dont want to write it out) i use this username for most everything so i'm just staying with it.
I've been playing Magic Since 8th Edition / Legions and have been making cards for a few years now. I've only managed one mini set completely made, but am working on a Duel Deck (Guts VS Guile) at the moment as making full sets seem to be a little more than my mind can handle for balancing.
I play Modern, Legacy and some small amounts of commander, as well as Tabletop D&d as a player and DM, and the usual compliment of Reading(fantasy, sci fi), Gaming(rpg's, RTS, strategy) and Writing (fantasy, scifi).
Lets make this forum as good or better than the last and do our best to help others get better as well, Constructive Criticism is everyone's best friend!

I'm Hālian, a Level 1 judge from Central Florida. I've been designing custom Magic sets for four years now, and have one project in progress, Safiria, which will come out five minutes before the Big Rip. On paper, I mainly play Commander and Pauper.

It is I, the Code Wizard and Rules Chaos Demon Cajun! I've spent a lot of time in the Comp Rules and the MSE code and am pretty good at making whatever you want work under either ruleset. Recently I've been updating and condensing the MSE frames in the Mainframe series, which has Fusable Splits, Mainframe Planeswalkers, Mainframe DFCs, with M15 Mainframe on the way!

I'm 6000j. You may know me from my rare posts back here like 3 years ago, or more likely from my prescence on the custom magic discord, where I am active. I answer to any nickname you can think of, and I'm a high school student in Australia.
I'm a super johnny. Whenever I see any card, my first thought isn't 'is this good' or 'how cool is this', its 'how can I break this'. If you show me a bear I'll find a Murganda otk with it somehow.
I've been designing mtg cards for 4 years at this point, on and off, and I'm still not good at it. I have a set, Edge of the Woods, in progress over on the custom mtg discord, which is a morph tribal set.
I'm really excited for the new forums, and I hope it all works out well.

Hi everyone, I'm Daij_Djan I've been a member of the old forum for around six years - becoming a team member around the halfway mark, I think. These days, I'm the Moderator Team Lead even though I still take care of the CotW contests for the most part as my pet topic  I actually rarely played Magic anymore in the recent past (even though this seems to change now as my son makes his first steps into the game), but designing cards has kept me interested in the game nethertheless. I mostly enjoy designing simple and clean cards - and while this mostly happens at lower rarities, I try to prove it being possible at higher rarities as often as possible  If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message - I'll gladly response as quickly as possible. |

G'day everyone, I'm quarryking103, and I've been using MSE for about four or five years now. An adolescent Australian, I haven't really been in the forums much in the last year or two though, but when I was here last I was pretty active. I've got a couple of sets in development (that have been for about four or five years now), including a set based on One Piece, a set themed around tokens, and a mini-set based on the fighting game Killer Instinct. My favourite format is Commander, and my favourite colour combination is Temur, and hence my favourite set is Khans of Tarkir (as much as I hate morph).

Aloha, as my name indicates I'm Korakhos. I've been a member for almost 6 years and have been posting for almost 5. I've a ton of sets designed, out of which the Iscathia block is clearly the best and am planning on quite a few ones for the future so stay tuned cause I'm not going anywhere for a while! Also, the only valid deck strategy is tokens!

Hello everyone! I'm Vunik, and I've been a member of MSE for about 2-3 years at this point. I'm responsible for the monstrosities of Domia 1.0, Independence War, Akin'vahr, and Histories Forgotten (which after this point I will never mention again). I'm a big fan of epic fantasy in almost all forms, and I try (and most of the times fail) to bring that into MTG through my custom sets.
I try to be as active as possible, but being a music major in college can make that quite difficult. Don't worry though, I can still finish my projects and judge contests...eventually. I'm always up for collaboration, too, so don't be shy!

My interest in Magic: the Gathering began in 2008 (Morningtide is the first set I remember playing) and my interest in creating custom Magic cards started about five years ago. This interest brought me into the field of game design, which I now study as a major in college. I am the mind behind the sets Heroes of Minecraftia, Unsolved, and Anorost, and there are at least three more in development (but, as I'm sure you've noticed is a common theme, college life is a hindrance to Magic set design.)As indicated in my signature, I curate an Instagram that features community-made custom magic cards. |

G'day all, I'm Scribbl. I'm a uni student studying to be a Music and ESL teacher, and if you see me online I should probably be working on an assignment. I've been playing Magic since Shards of Alara and designing since Worldwake. I've started designing about ten sets and haven't come close to finishing any of them (woo!). Flavour text is my favourite part of a card, and I love worldbuilding and story challenges, so I'm excited to get back into the Battle Boards! I'm also more than happy to help out on any community projects. I love drafting and I'm a big Timmy. For non-Magic, I love Pokémon, World of Warcraft, and eating. I'm Solir, formerly known as Solir. I come here on and off, and play Magic on and off as well, but basically only limited with any regularity. I've never completed a set cause I'm bad, but I've designed some kinda cool cards. I think. They all have cringy names but I'm not twelve anymore so hopefully that'll change.
I'm a 17 year old kid from the middle of nowhere, although it is a notable part of nowhere. I come from Bloomington, Indiana. There's a movie about it with Dennis Quaid called Breaking Away.
I lived in Bonn, Germany for a bit, and I've gotten okay at German, but I still can't pronounce the FUCKING ACH LAUT.
